It's been around 8 years since I first started watching your video, but I gotta say you're taste hold up. Pretty much the entire TTYD soundtrack is beautiful and worthy of being called the best.

Just played this against for the first time in years. My eyes still got watery and my body got tense af when this song kicked in, despite the fact I knew it was coming. The dialogue is so perfect for the song too.

There are a few exceptions. Mario and Luigi: Dream Team has been pretty good for me. Its a lot better than Sticker Star and I like the new designs of the characters. It reminds me of Super Mario RPG. :)
I know, I'm definitely in the minority. What really made it the best for me was the storyline and the music (and Dimentio, of course!). I have to agree, though, that as fun as Sticker Star was, it was definitely a disappointment to it's series. I would say the same about Super Mario 3D Land. I liked it, but I didn't think it was nearly as good as the rest of the 3D platformer series. So far the 3DS hasn't produced great sequels (save for LMDM) Hopefully SSB4 is another exception.
Dayum, Super Paper Mario first?! Wow, I actually hadn't heard that before. I still love that game though. An amazing story with great visuals and superb music, along with fun gameplay. It will always have a place in my heart. For Sticker Star, however, it was a disappointment. I wouldn't say Epic Mickey 1 or 2 disappointment, but still, it could have been so much more. :(

Professor Frankly says that the Crystal Stars don't know the difference between good and evil. He was obviously mistaken. The Crystal Stars clearly know good from evil or they wouldn't have gone out on their own to seek encouragement for Mario. They're obviously more than just weapons...

I love them all too. However, I would probably rank them in this order: SPM first, then TTYD, then the original, then SS. (Lol I have never even played the first one, but I know all about it because I have seen an LP of it.)

My favorite quote in the game is "Anyone who's beat me is not ALLOWED to lose!" That one line literally made me laugh and cry at the same time. This scene is just so damn emotional.

Games need graphics just as much as gameplay, I'm tired of peope going one way or the other, they should realize they're both equally as important.
Nah, the graphics aren't amazing, they didn't strain the hardware much; no one is going to confuse it for realism. what it has is an amazing *aesthetic.* The colours and style make it fun to look at and play.
I've heard that Shigeru Miyamoto deliberately made Sticker Star have a worse story than originally planned. Intelligent Systems were actually working on this game as a port of the Gamecube version, so it was supposed to be destined to be a sequel of sorts.. Mr. Miyamoto actually called it "boring". I dunno about that guy sometimes, even considering other games he's helped made.. I'd probly say otherwise if this wasn't my favorite series of games ever.

I don't care what anybody says, this is my most favorite video game of all time. Our Wii is broken and we lost the cords to the GameCube so I haven't been able to play it for a long time, but as soon as our Wii gets fixed, this will be the first thing I play! I remember one day just playing it for hours on end :')
Well yeah, and when my power is lifted I try to use powerful attacks like spring jump and power bounce.
Every time I fight the Shadow queen I win the reason ... power lift and stylish moves!
This song was so emotionally powerful, that I seriously feel like crying right now. Even though it's just a silly game, I've had so many fond memories of this game as a child.

This song... This song just everywhere OMG it's like.... It's a nostalgia blast like I couldn't believe. My ears have thanked me for allowing them to hear this once more.... This song just brings back the great feeling of beating this game. I play modern games so much, but the feeling you get from solving them is just no where near as grand as what it once was.

That makes no sense as these graphics have a really nice charm to them, just like Wind Waker. Are you saying the graphics are bad because they aren't they are very nice actually. I think anyone would agree that these were some of the most well thought out graphics and just made what the original had and made it so much better.

This game makes me speechless, so does the N64 one. I have them both, and I still play them since they are so fantastic. I also have the Super Paper Mario, it's a good game, but nothing compared to this. This is the best game ever, please nintendo, I beg you, MAKE ANOTHER PAPER MARIO LIKE THIS!!!!

This scene was so awesome, really gets you revved up for the epic final fight against the Shadow Queen. However, I lost to the Shadow Queen first try, and I certainly got punished for losing by having to go through this whole scene again (which the 2nd time felt like torture).

epic as it may be any mario game is good to me but not the one for cdi or virtral boy and marios time machine and marios missing other than those particuler ones the rest are great games

Man this brings back memories of playing this game in 3rd grade back when it came out. Everythimg about this game was incredible from defeating hooktail to saving the puni tree, becoming the champ of the glitz pit and so on this game is a masterpice that I think everybody should get a chance to playthrough at least once. But it seems everybody is to raped up in playing Halo or COD to realize a masterpice like this. *Sigh*

I had completely forgotten this song. I should play The Thousand Year Door again; I beat it twice shortly after getting it for Christmas, but have barely touched it since then.

@smbz1 I love the original Paper Mario more because of its soundtrack. It had a lot more lively themes than The Thousand Year Door. Plus, I have a lot more fond memories of the original Paper Mario. I played through it like 3-4 times. I loved it that much. Hopefully, Paper Mario 3DS will have just as good a soundtrack as the original Paper Mario.
Nothing will beat the feeling of beating that bitch hooktail and getting that first crystal star. This song makes that moment so good, I just sat back and listened to this theme for so long. A masterful piece for a masterful game.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is the best RPG I've ever played. The atmosphere, music, characters... it's all quite astounding. The final boss fight was - and I don't this word often because it is overused, but in this case it's justified - EPIC. And this tune is awesome.
@zatchparker It's not that hard to figure out. Their was really only one character who constantly called Mario "bro". And it wasn't just because they were pals.
My favorite part of this scene is how the Crystal Stars appear in Rogueport's town square in the same fashion as the underground altar.
this si a great game...even though super paper mario is my personal fav..well in terms of charators this game i borrowed from a friend who said it was great and must try it i did beat it in 2 days no cheats may i mind you........it was a good game jsut nothing stuck out as hugly as some of the things in super paper mario did even though thats probly cuase i really dont like turb base i want to move where i want when i want

@StKildaFan you should try to play the rest, it has all those thing but with a nice rpg sauce instead of a platformer one. I do think you should start with the first one (it's on the vc) or emulate it. the second one had so many upgrades that it would be a bit disapointing to first play ttyd and then the original! all three are jewels =D

I haven't played this or Paper Mario, but I'd love to. I thouroughly enjoyed Super Paper Mario, and think people should judge it for what it is, not what it isn't. And it is a very witty, stylish, original, enjoyable game.

Super Paper Mario has to be the most underrated game of all time. It's an absolutely brilliant action RPG. It's such a shame to see everyone here hating the game. So what if it isn't turn-based? It was trying something different, and perhaps if some of you stopped whining about it, maybe you'd see it's an excellent, excellent game. I know I'm in for 6 thumbs down or more, and I apologize if I was blunt, but I just felt Super paper Mario needed a defender. Forgive me.

Exactly! They need another classic where Paper Mario sets off on an adventure through massive enviroments with turn-based battles and items lurking inside every tree and behind every corner.. And so many side quests... Paper Mario TTYD in my perspective is the greatest RPG I've ever played to this day. I have played many a Final Fantasy and this tops them all...

This is the only game I ever biked for an over an hour to get. That was 5 years ago. My parents weren't home, and the closest game store takes about an hour to get to and back (by bike). And it was soooo worth it.

First time I played this game, it was borrowed from a friend. I almost picked up a copy today in gamestop, but it didn't have the original boxart or manual, so I said forget it, and got Minish Cap instead.

I forgot how great this piece of music was/still is. This game had quite a large supply of amazing piece of music. Most of the boss battle music was very memorable, and just when you thought there wasn't a piece that could top your favorite. The game would suprise you with even better music. You could basically just put the whole game down in your list "Best VGM".

I forgot how amazing this song is! I love the Paper Mario series so much... I can't really pick a favorite out of any of them, but the second one is the most fun to play. My favorite songs from this game were the file load theme, and the Doopliss and Smorg battle themes.
This music gives you the strength and courage you need during the final battle.
