Persona 5 > Persona 3 > Persona 4 I mean, the pacing, progression, and dungeons were really fucked aspects of Persona 4, I don't know why people think it is better than P3P.

4 was superior to 5 in everything other than graphics (obviously) and gameplay. 5's plot is awful.
4's plot was almost non-existant, neither of the characters are developed further than explaining their problems (or bitchy complaints, in case of Yukiko), the music score was ok, but the final boss fight (Izanami) had the most forgetable, dull and boring soundtrack I've ever heard on a game ever. The reason they could enter the TV was because Izanami wanted them to because reasons, and the only good character was Kanji. The MC has less personality than 3's and that's a lot to say, his name "broswagonist" comes from the anime, where he actually does shit. And now, small details that ruined the game: -The final boss was a gas station attendant -The final boss was a secret boss -The progression was fucked, some bosses were nearly impossible without a couple of hours of grinding while otheres were LVL 1 Rats from any RPG -Chie, the best girl, was a bitch -The only time the game was interesting was more than 15 hours in (when Morooka dies) -The only time the game was interesting ends way too soon -Nanako is annoying, more than Morgana from P5 -Literally nothing bad happens or threatens to happen, so there's no tension until endgame -Money was nearly nonexistant, SP recovery items as well -The city was lifeless, small and ironically felt like a chore to travel between places Persona 5 was a completely different thing, it did a straight 96 hours first run for me while developing characters (except of course for Haru, who I didn't like at all) left and right with way more interesting S.Links than P4. The soundtrack was godly, and Shoji's Meguro best score yet. Palaces were handcrafted and they had puzzles within, adding life to the dungeons P3 and P4 didn't have. The main theme of the game was Rebellion and Freedom, and it exposed it outstandingly without ramming it up your eyes ("Reach out to the truth" makes a direct reference to P4's main theme, along with countless dialogs in game, treating the player like an idiotic child). Now, good shit and bad shit about the game: -The final boss was meh, but it had a great soundtrack for it and was legitimately somewhat of a challenge -The cities were gorgeus with tons of stuff to do, and a fast travel menu that didn't make me feel frustrated despite the cities' size -Beneath the Mask -Akechi was a really obvious traitor, but his fight was hype as shit -Shido's fight is one of the best in the series -The progression was managed from start to finish, so no one had to grind (the game reached 100~ hours despite this) -The bosses had unique mechanics to them, making them even more memorable -Profficiency's easter eggs -Gameplay was fun, battle system was addictive as shit and the interface gave me eyegasms several times So the graphics were the only thing going for P5? Here's a TLDR from someone who's actually played 4 Persona games and is currently playing P2: -P5 has best gameplay -P3 has best plot -P2 has best main characters -P3 has best side characters -P5 has best interface and graphic design -P5 has best soundtrack -P5 has best bosses -P5 has best dungeons -P5 has best battle system -P5 has best progression -P3 has best final boss -P5 has best city / cities -P5 has best MC (Akira) -P2 has best side character (any of them, really) -P5 has best supporting cast (S.Links / Confidants) Also, P3's S.Links were people who were familiar with death, P5's Confidants were people who had been incorrectly judged by society, while P4's S.Links are just people and that's it.

Sure, let's just forget how Aigis starts as a total toaster and ends up being more human than the rest of the cast, or how Mituru slowly starts trusting everyone and growing along with them, or how about Junpei is a happy dude to end up a brave and determined man, or how Akihiko doesn't give a shit about anything but fighting and training only to end up fighting in memory of his recently killed friend and finally starting to feel apathy towards others? Sure, let's all forget that shit happened.
Nothing of the sort happens in Persona 4, Chie is still a bitch, Yukiko is still boring, Naoto is still underdeveloped, Rise is still kind of whory, Yosuke is still a whining prick... Kanji is the only one who grows as a character, at least in his social link.
P2 EP > P3 > P2 IS > P5 > P4 > P1
3 and the duology of 2 have the best character development. P1 and P5 have the weakest character "development" in the franchise. 4 has most likeable cast.
Picked this up a while back but never got around to playing it (life getting in the way and all), only to try recently and discover my PS2 controllers don't work anymore :(

+elkciptish Oh, do you not like rhythm games? I love them, but the ost is stunning compared to the originals IMO, but you need to listen to them a few times to get into them.

Imo, one and the best of the only 3 good songs in the game.

For some reason, most of them sound like High School Musical to my ears. I really only like Mist, the Almighty and the last dungeon theme (not the one that leads to the true ending).

Basically because they sounded nice. It's a shame the they were not more used... (though it works better this way for Mist)

"They are quite different, so how can you like just 3?" Precisely because of that. The style in The Fog, The Almighty and I'll Face Myself is different from almost everything else. Also, the soundtrack wasn't bad, but it was really forgetable.

I'm a bit surprised by your Persona 4 picks. Would have probably chosen Heaven or A New World Fool instead. Still, in hindsight, this song is much better than i remember it. Definitely one of the better songs in the soundtrack now that i've given it another listen!
@GarlyleWilds Its playing during the first phase of the izanami fight so this IS at least the first half of the final boss theme. You cant say that this isnt the final boss theme just because its not the music that plays during the last phase of one and the same boss
@SupraDarky The two different names come from the Kanji that is used in the title. "Kiri" can mean mist or fog. So either is correct for the title of this piece.
@SupraDarky Only two Persona 4 songs and they are both battle themes? That's a shame especially since a few of the more fun themes are so good. Perhaps "Your Affection" and "Heartbeat, Heartbreak" should be taken into consideration?

I agree TBFES is awesome and never gets old. There aren't that many tunes in P3 that are really that memerable other than boss themes. Plus the dungeon theme didn't match up at all with Thanatos and got repetitive (yes I know that you can change it, but they aren't especially good either.)
weeeellll....technically speaking depending on the way you beat the game there are a total of three "final" bosses yet izanami is the only true final boss

i agree... P3 has some kick ass tunes, but only some tunes... all the other where so repetitive D: like... damm P4 almost every song is cool, and not repetitive or boring... but nothing can beat the battle for everyone souls ;)

I'm only halfway through this game and enjoying every second of it. Hearing this theme makes me want to beat it even quicker. It sounds like the final boss will be epic.
This game's got some great music. I have to give it credit for that. I think I might play it this summer.
The beginning of this theme almost puts me to mind of Led Zepplin's 'Kashmir'.
I seem to remember it being called that due to the title referencing the fog throughout the game, which is -always- called Fog, not Mist. But I don't have Side B to be able to confirm english OST name. And I went back and fact-checked myself. Good End, Final Boss 1: A New World Fool Good End Final Boss 2: The Almighty True End Final Phase 1: Fog/Mist True End Final Phase 2: The Genesis I forgot how many (Awesome) battle themes were in this game @_@
The official OST has this song named "Mist". I did some research and I'm not sure where the "Fog" name comes from. I did put it in the description as an alternate title though since some people refer to it as that. As for Final Boss, then I guess it's my mistake! I searched on youtube and this song was playing while fighting what the uploader called "The True Final Boss".
"Mist" is the literal translation of the original Japanese title of the name. "The Fog" is what the song is called in the official English OST release, and is generally preferred over Mist as it makes much more sense within the context of the game (the English version at least, anyways).
I'm pretty sure the official name is "Fog", not mist. Nor is this the theme of the final boss (Unless you're not doing the True End dungeon) This song is still AWESOME though.
It's a kickass theme though I enjoy the Almighty more.
