This is deceiving. Damn it is. This tune makes you think that this game is a lighthearted game, but one hour into the game and BAM, an NPC is dead. And it gets worse. God, it's a very good game. And composed by Kouhei Tanaka, the composer of One Piece's first opening.

I recently purchased this from the psn so I could play it on the Vita, even though I still have my psone disc. Such a great game. The fact we never got a sequel kills me. (that thing called Alundra 2 does NOT count)
Love this game so much! And this song is so epic! I used to just stand around in Inoa when I played, just to loop this tune.
Very original theme
Alundra, the spiritual successor of Landstalker. And depressing as all hell. I love it. Even when it made me sad. Possibly because it was capable of making me legitimately sad.

heh, don't know if it's just me but, this, crusader of centy, landstalker...all give out the feeling of wanting. after beating each of these games. like a lonelyness sets in. zelda not so much. probly has to do with them being almost overlooked. and also about how the stories end on kind of bittersweet. Lunar is almost like that, but the amount of mushy and corny storytelling just about sets it apart.
This is one of my favourite pieces of video game music. It has a very nice mixture of jazz, classical, electronic synth, and traditional Japanese music.
I played only the second. Is the first one also funny as him?
Omg. Listen to this on headphones, the music just jumbles back and forth left and right. Gives it an immersed surround sound feel.

wow this song is great. i never took the time to actually listen to it before, there was always some kind of sound that had my focus away from this theme. really listening to it, there's so many layers that its kind of breath-taking
Two things why I like your VGM list here.. One, you always introduce us to most amazing songs that we have and haven't heard before. And two, because you introduce us to many games that we also haven't heard of. And we already have a good presentation of a game and that is music, what more to ask? This game is great. The storyline is intriguing and the dialogue is something completely different from other localizations. There are references to sex and drugs frequently.
@Babl069 Even on some of the simplest of the puzzles, I get pissed. You can't help but find yourself spending ten plus minutes attempting to jump and barely reach that ledge that seems near impossible lol

Funny graphics and music. Overall it reminds me a bit of Shining Wisdom and to an extent Illusion of Gaia, which I had lots of fun playing.

@LinkTetraWW, just think of it as some sort of victory cheer, like the creators felt really good about theirselves because they knew they were making a really awesome game, so they decided to contribute their own random excitement to this track!
This village was freakin huge! The first time I was here, I got lost like 20 times before I was familiar with everything. This place makes any Final Fantasy village/town look pint sized!

This game is AWESOME. And I'd like to know something about it : Apprently, the PS3 can read PS1 games (I have the 250GB Slim model from ACII bundle). Is Alundra compatible with it ? And also, it's a PAL system, but since it can read other NTSC-U or NTSC-J games, will it work for Alundra even if it's an NTSC version ? Thanks ! :o

The sound FX to are really nice on this game. When you collect health and the "DINCH" it plays... Brilliant.
in my opinion Lake Shrine is the best piece of music in the game then The Wind that Shock the Earth, Lars Crypt next, this one, then Klines Dream, those are the 5 tracks to truly remember from this game and they should all have been on the list, imao

Ahh yes... Alundra! Great game! Unfortunately it's on my list of games I still have to finish. I really loved the soundtrack for this one too. I got stuck on one part of the game and never finished. There are several tracks from this game that are great to listen to. The composer, Kohei Tanaka, has actually done more music for anime than games. Check out the Wikipedia entry on him.

My favorite song from the whole game. I'm a huge fan of smooth jazz and classical. It's interesting how this song fuses them together. The "oouh"! sounds make it sound somewhat 'live', like a song from the 70s or 80s, I guess another thing I liked about this song.
I loved this game when I was a kid! I haven't played it since, so I don't know what I would think of it now. The song is not of a style I like, but it helps create the tropical atmosphere in this level.
This is actually one of my least favourite tracks from the game... But, nice to hear it though, brings back memories. Fantastic game.
