Instant feels. Wind Waker is charming as hell; it warms my heart.
Strangely enough, this island is called "Mercantîle" in the French version. It does make sense because of the trade, but no signs of the windmills.

I remember playing this all my 4th grade year! I loved it so much that I got Wind Waker HD!
In the German version of this game the island was called 'Port Monee'.
A subtle hint of the overall "theme" of that island.
I did the opposite, sold the PS2 to get a Gamecube, I needed Prime, Melee and Double Dash way more than FFX and Devil May Cry 3.
So it's emulator time!

This song is a great take on the melody originally from the Kakariko theme in Link to the Past. More upbeat, but just as welcoming.

I love the gamecube myself, but when I finally got a PS2, I found it has just as many great games and maybe even more than the gamecube. Still, FUCK YEAH GAMECUBE!
9 years later, (since the release of this game) and I'm still wondering how the leader of the killer bees got to the top of that tree!

@alt9001 Yeah, this is quite possibly the best soundtrack in the entire Zelda franchise. This is also the only Zelda game aside from A Link to the Past which I consider myself to be a big fan of.

@PITTSBURGHESE86 A Link to the Past takes the prize hands down. Although fighting Dark Link in OoT was one of the most memorable moments.
I seriously wonder why this is among the best VG music. This tune haunts me in my dreams. There is so much you need to do on that stupid island that you soon wish they would allow you to change the music. ..at least thats what I feel like.
Awesome game! :D But an apology is in order... When I first saw the pics of the game before being released...I doubted Miyamoto -_- Then I saw a trailer and my spirit was lifted, then I bought it and played it and gone were the doubts! Never again will I do the same mistake!
@AJF786 It's actually really subtle for a remix. Apart from anything else, this was the first Zelda game I played, but even after playing all the other games, I didn't realise this had borrowed from the Kakariko theme until I read it somewhere!

...hate to be a nag but to this day i still dont like ocraina of time its way too overatted i tried playing it but..trufally i got bored but its after i played the great game of windwaker and link to the past(my favorite zelda game) its nothing personal its just the camrea killed me so oftern when i manually set it and was finally happy with it it went back to a view were i could only see infont of me and that killed me so many times

This game recieves a lot of stick for being too easy, or not being dark enough for a Zelda game, too kiddy etc. I absolutely loved this game, the characters were charming, the cel shaded graphics made it so stylish and different to it's predecessors and I loved the music. One of the reasons that I feel the gamecube is greater than the playstation 2 :).
it took a while for me to enjoy the new stylized take on the Zelda series this game....after I played the hell out of it, I actually like this over the current look, the only thing I would change is the cutesyness of Link....but I do enjoy the cel shading.
I LOOOVED this game. I still do. It's so fun to play.
A mix of both Kakariko and Market Town..nice!
Man...this brings back SO MANY memories. When I rented this game from gamefly during middle school. -sigh- Such good times. Truly one of my favorite games of all time.

IMO original Kakariko Village music is better, but Wind Waker is fun

That's because it was remixed. Windfall Island might have been founded after Kakariko Village in Hyrule was flooded by the goddesses.

Remainds me of Link`s house in "Darkland" in a link to the past
when i was younger, when my mom played and i would watch her, she would ask me where i wanted her to sail to, and i would always say "happy island" because this music is so cheerful and the people so nice
Haha yeah that one's great too! I'll probably add it to the best VGM series one day. This isn't about the best VGM of each game btw! More than 1 VGM from any game can be on the list. :) It's just my favorite VGMs in general.
