My biggest and first gaming memory was playing Bubble Bobble at the arcades. It was the first game I ever played and was 4 or 5 then.

I was 5 in 2001,and my cousin let me borrow MGS1, and it absolutely blew my mind. The atmosphere, the pressure of trying not to get caught, the experience seemed so surreal and I doubt ill ever experience a game the same way. Fallout 3/Oblivion also got me to respect open world games a ton more.

Half-Life 2, Star Wars Republic Commando, and Star Wars Battlefront 2 were the ones that really astonished me for their surrealism.
even though games like crash and spyro were awesome games that i played the crap out of as a kid, the game that hit me the hardest was and is kingdom hearts. I can't get through listening to any songs from that games with out wanting to cry happy tears.
Final Fantasy IX. The graphics and open world at the time was fuel for my imagination throughout my childhood.
Secret of Mana on the SNES The story was awesome, the characters were cool and the music and fighting system where outstanding!

Saga Frontier II and Final Fantasy 7. Obvious reasons. Intrigued by gameplay and story, I was sucking it all in!
Pokémon Silver Version. First game I ever owned that didn't belong to my sisters. I loved catching and raising your own monsters. Still might be my best of all time and possibly my favorite series too. Other top games for me Zelda: Ocarina of time, Skies of Arcadia, Final Fantasy 9 and 10, Resident Evil 4, Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Banjo Kazooie and Tooie, Demon's souls, and many more....

For me the game that made the greatest impact on me was Warcraft III: ROC & TFT. During the golden age of custom game development. When DOTA was in its infancy and people expressed their creativity through the world editor. I made my own custom game and the process of it all was what inspired me to be a computer programmer. It was the birthplace of my love of computer logic. I would literally be online for 24+ hours playing custom games and chatting online and being a part of a clan and the whole community before everything turned to shit with the bots hosting more games than there were people online. If you try to play now, there are only a handful of custom games that get any attention, whereas my downloads folder in the golden era had literally hundreds of custom games and each one saw some play from time to time. I would kill to go back in time and do it all again.

The game that showed how 3D Platformers should be made
Pokémon Diamond version. My parents wouldn't let me own any video games until I turned 10, and my first real game was on the DS. (Gameboy was no longer in stores) Although I will admit I enjoyed Alpha Sapphire much more, Diamond had a lot of influence over me. I just remember getting so attached to my Pokémon and getting so fired up for battles! I never fully completed it, though, as I sucked at the Elite Four. Still remember it, though...I even got the event Celebi, but like the simple child I was, I gave the game away without transporting the Celebi to another game...(sigh)

The first 3D game I've played... I think it was Crash Bandicoot 3. My brother's friend lent us his PS1 along with this game. It totally blew my mind (we had SNES before that)! I kinda miss those times when platformers were quite predominant on consoles.
I would say Donkey Kong Country 1 & 2 on the SNES.

Man, I remembered the first time I've played Super Mario Bros all star on my SNES. I would always bother my dad and the rest of my family to play Mario Bros 3 with me. We would always get stuck on level 4 and then restart the entire game. Probably the only time we've actually bonded.

Oh that Magical Xmas in 1998! Me, my (still functional) n64, Banjo Kazooie, Super Mario 64 Now I muts say that Banjo-Kazooie, was that game, but...I got a lot of loving memories from those day, Zelda Ocarina of time, Majora´s Mask Castlevania 64, Mario kart 64, Mario Party, Paper Mario, Pokemon stadium, god...even Quest 64! On the other side the Ps1+games like; Medievil, Crash bandicoot 3, Castlevania SOTN, FF VIII, Evil Zone, Silent Hill, Parasite Eve and Crono Cross! Thanks Nintendo and Sony!

When I played my first video game (Super Mario Bros for NES) I was about 5 or 6 and my mind was BLOWN!!! I thought it all looked so real and I had full control! It was incredible! Needless to say I have these great memories about how real so many games looked (Mega Man, TMNT, Zelda, Sonic, Pirates, Street Fighter). I grew up as the graphics got better, but I swear my imagination filled in all the missing pixels for those old games in a way that no new console can do. THAT SAID: The first time I ever got stoned I went to Fred Meyer and they had the NEW Mario 64. First time ever playing a real 3D game! First time being stoned! It melts my mind just talking about it. When I finally got my hands on my very own N64 I beat through that sucker twice in a row (all 120 stars!) without hesitation. Thanks for posting and giving me a chance to reminisce!

What a beatiful souvenir! Well Mario 64 had a impact on me (as for a lot of people), but let me think, there was a lot of games that impact me in diferent ways but I will say a game that made me a very fan and enjoy every chapter or saga: Super Robot Taisen 4 (SNES). Why this game? Since Kid I loved Robots, Mazinger Z was my favorite show and when I found that there was a game who appears not only him but a lot of other super robots I was fond of... In that time my mind was fascinating to discover who where the other robots, their pilots, their histoy. Today I have a great culture of this kind of genre. For me each time I play a Supor Robot Taisen I enjoy in a special and personal way, it's very dificult to explain it in a few sentences... Well in resume, there was a lot of game that impact me but that make that I enter in a unknown world of super robot as he did Super Robot Taisen 4... it's unique.

When I was 14 I saw what I thought was a very goofy name for a video game: Final Fantasy 7. I thought 'wtf, FINAL fantasy...7? The cover art doesn't explain anything, nor does watching the title screen. I went in totally blind, immersing myself in what I found to be the greatest game I have ever played. I decided to devote a significant portion of my life to this game. And so I have. It changed me into who I am today, no kidding. I only remember the masive electric eel from Mario64.

Wii, for the same reason - they were the first games I played in their respective series and I played them for hours as a kid (I'm pretty young huh). I also used to play the original Sonic games on my older brother's Mega Drive when I was as young as 3, so big shout out to them.
I can't say which game had the greatest impact on me, but I can say that I fully enjoyed DKC, Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros, all for SNES. :)

The games that most influenced me are a tie between Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker for the exact same reason. In both, you meet people who become your friends, and then lose them by them becoming sages. It taught me to hold onto your friendships as long as you can.

I think the Mario music has lost its flair. This was the last Mario game that had truly memorable music. Some of the songs in Sunshine and Galaxy were pretty good too, but they're not an overall sweeping success the way Mario 64 was. New Super Mario Bros, DS, Wii, Wii U, they just don't capture the same feeling the way this soundtrack did.
Okay, since you asked there are two games I've had good memories of, same genra but not for the same reason. Freshman year in highschool I played the original Call of Duty, and I remember that breathless feeling I got when I slogged through the final level as the Russians and got to Reichstag. Felt awesome. Then the scene with Andrew Ryan in Bioshock four years later. I still hear the words "a man chooses, a slave obeys" in my head clear as day when I go to school.
Wunderful tune, Nintendo and SEGA know how to make emotional music.

I played a lot of games prior to Mario RPG but that game has been the symbole of me starting my RPG life...now im on mmorpgs since 1999 Everquest. My N64 was special to me also, since it was the first console I bought with my own money. I was age 12. I came back home, and I couldnt play on it...since my TV did not have the cable entrance to it :(...so i went to a friends house so he could plug it into his VCR and in someway get it to work... Then my mom bought me a new tv :)
Great story. This was a fun game and a true the 64 name in Nintendo 64.
For me it had to be Alien breed for Amiga, i had Mario for Nintendo but one day my dad got home pushed in the game. the logo still haunts me the barely visible Alien head showing its razer sharp teat. i had to be around 6-7 years old at most at the time and the coop/firing blew my mind. for 3 days me and my dad shoot aliens at day and i had terrible nightmares at night, but it did not stop me from trying to beat the game for a sec. i dont know why i loved the game so much, probably the coop.
Biggest impact on me was Final Fantasu VII. I was about 7 or 8 at the time I began playing it and had a very small knowledge of english (I am Swedish so, go figure, lol). Also, I played it from start to finish in black and white, cuz my chipped PS1 couldn't play american pirated games in colour. Why it was pirated? Well, my granddad gave me the PS1 and a shit ton of pirated games that christmas. I started browsing through the games and as soon as I found FFVII. I knew I had struck gold. :D
The biggest impact? Probably Scratches O_O I actually didn't play it, but I watched a whole Let's Play of it and it creeped me out. It taught me that what is not seen is actually scarier...

My favourite game and the one which had the biggest impact on me was Chrono Cross (Playstation). An excellent story, amazing graphics (with well-proportioned characters), absolutely wonderful music, ended in 45 hours. Just one/my favourite game. I played it when I was 15, that was only two years ago. I remember that one day, I was playing Chrono Cross for such a moment that I forgot to go and take my sister at school. Aw.
Phantasy Star Online had the biggest impact on me. I still remember loading up my 4 slot memory card and VMU, plugging in my official SegaNet keyboard, and dialing into the servers on our 28.8K connection haha, but the thing is -- it still ran great for the game.

Continued- Pokemon Red meant a lot to me. I had put so many hours into that game. I wanted to catch them all and every challenge changed me and i finally beat the game, caught Mewtwo, raised a party to lv100 and so on. I took the game everywhere and im glad i still own it. So my choice- Both!. Sadly i never had a 64 growing up, but i got one now and im glad to play Super Mario 64!
The one game that had the most impact on me? Wow thats hard to pick. its a tie between two games: SMW2(Yoshi's Island) or Pokemon Red version. I got Yoshi's Island first and I loved it a lot. I put so many hours into it even though i was scared of the Frog Boss, the game and soundtrack were stellar and I played it with friends and everything.

two games, Earthbound, and Ocarina of Time. Earthbound was one of the first RPGs i've ever played, at the time, i'd never seen a game quite so big in size. The game made me laugh, think, hum along with the music; it made me sad, and even terrified me at times. OoT was the BIGGEST leap forward in gaming technology i had ever dreamed of. The first time i played it was at Blockbuster, i spent about 25 minutes just wandering around Kokiri forest, i've never had a game amaze me quite like OoT did.
I never did learn how to use the fly cap.... always kept going up then falling to my death :(
combo of this game and Ocarina of Time. Something about seeing Nintendo's biggest games suddenly go into 3-D was just.......breathtaking

I remember I got this game and my 64 for my 7th birthday. Since this is the very first Mario level I've ever done, this song will always be in my heart, So much so, I actually had a lump in my throat when I got to Throwback Galaxy in SMG2.
The game that had the biggest impact on my childhood were Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country (I and II), Super Mario 64, Goldeneye 64, and Zelda 64:Ocarina of Time. It wasn't so much the gameplay as much as it was the music. When I hear the music of all those games, I remember back in my life when I was playing those games and all the fun memories I had. Now, the only game that has done that for me on the newer systems is Oblivion. Everything else is just "meh."

Quake II is the game that had the biggest impact on me, I'd say. It was the first game I had ever played, and it's what made me fall in love with gaming to begin with. Without it, I wouldn't be here playing games or really doing any of the things I do today (even listening to your playlists, Supra). I will always love Quake II more than any other game.
For me it would have to be Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on the Gameboy. It wasn't my first game, that was Super Mario Bros. on the NES, but Link's awakening is really what ignighted my love for gaming.

Computers really scared me that times... xD well, and the first real video game I've played through was "Maya the Bee"(GBC), it was property of my sister, but she was bad, so she let me play it^^ and the first Game I owned was Pokemon Yellow, my favorite of all time^^

Biggest impact for me had to be Ocarine of Time. I can still remember the distinct smell of the manual which I had to use a lot, since i didn't know any English then so I had to resort to trial and error to figure things out.

Pokemon Yellow was my first game. This was my second. That is why I follow Pokemon even if it becomes lamer (the show). I only play the games, so yeah. Mario is also beastly.
Mario 64 is definitely up there. I think it was Earthbound for me though. Playing that as a kid- I felt like the kids in the game, and my world became their world. I think because at that time in my life I related to the environments and characters so well.
Either Pokemon Red with my friends back when we were kids, or Golden Sun, which brought my current best friend and I together

The game with the most memories for me would Paper Mario for the 64. [: The fact that the characters were all paper-like is what drew me in. I just loved it and I loved how they designed the characters and how they really used the idea of paper. (Like being able to turn Mario into a paper airplane to fly places.) And I just love the story too. Each new chapter was a whole lot of fun. I love the first Paper Mario. <3

Biggest impact - probably Wolfenstein 3D, Doom1, Super Mario 64, Zelda Ocarina of Time. All games that (at the time) just totally blew me away and let me disappear into a different world for hours on end. Sadly, hardly any games seem to do that for me these days :S

The greatest impact on my gaming life? ...It must've been that Chip'n'Dale Rescue Rangers I played at one of those big arcade-sort of NES machines in a local department store, when I was, what, 5 or 6? I doubt I'd be a gamer otherwise. Girls tend to get way different hobbies as they grow up, but I never did.

There's so much game I loved, so it's hard to choose... But, I remember one "click" that happened in my head, was when I saw a friend of my brother bring his SNES with some RPGs to my house. I was just watching them play all day and was like "aawwww I wanna play this!". Can't remember the exact RPG... I know there was Illusion of Gaia, that's the only one I remember... Let's just say, this got me hook on RPG for a looong time after (and still today)! Besides that, I would say... Contra!

Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past. It really got me involved in the game. I was only young when I played it, so I never completed it on the SNES, but I have more recently. It defined my childhood, but there was something about it that made me want to complete it. The boss battles are some of the most creative and memorable to date. Gets my vote :)
Pokemon Gold... I remember all my classmates running around as Charmander and Squirtle during recess and them trading Pokemon cards while sitting on the asphalt. I became determined to get a Pokemon game, and when I finally got my hands on Gold, I almost died. I had dreams of adventuring in the Pokemon world, and I even began drawing my own monster cards, which I still occasionally do to this day just for nostalgia. Pokemon Gold made me a gamer, period.

Sonic 3 was the one I beat on my own, Metroid Prime was my first game I beat 100%, Super Mario World turned me to the idea of platformers... there were just so many in my life! I'm going to put this out there: All the games I've played have made an impact. Even the ones I didn't like.

Being born in 1990 and getting to experience the SNES era. I'd say Super Mario World. I played that game with my older sister so much. It is the reason why I love video games today in the platforming area. Ratchet and Clank, I loved that game so much as a kid, I played it to bits, I think about 9 or 10 times! It was like nothing I had seen or done before and my first proper video game.

Oh gosh, this is a tough question... Reason being, I hadn't owned a game system until I was 11, I think I was, although I had been amerced in video games beforehand. The first video game I remember is Super Mario Bros on the NES, because my cousins had an nes and whenever I was at their house I'd play it so much... However somewhere along the line Super Mario Kart 64, and the pokemon series were also games that had a great impact on me... Ah, just sometimes, I wish I could go back to that time.

The first game I really remember having: SSBM for GC. I got it on my 6th Birthday from my Grandma, I believe. It was my first 3D game, and I loved it. It's what brought me into the SSB series. I mean, I could imagine Mario fighting Donkey Kong, but not like that!

Chrono Trigger. The first JRPG I remember playing. Back then, I was into fighters, I was into platformers, I was into shooters, beat em ups and GTA. 2. But seeing a game where you take turns hitting each other seemed strange. The only thing that drew me in was the fact that the main character looked like Goku. But then the music, the story, the gameplay, the graphics were superb, and other things that would give it the title of best RPG ever. It rocked. Now if Chrono Break would just come out!!

I think the one video game that's had the biggest impact on me is the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Mostly because that was my first foray into the LoZ world. thanks to that game, I went back And play/beat every Zelda game that came out before it. Made me a fan of the series as a whole.

Final Fantasy 4 (2 to those of us who played it back then) really demonstrated to me how a video game can actually tell a story; how the journey can be as satisfying as the destination, how simple pixels and some text can become living, breathing people with personalities. There are definitely better games out, now; but for me, Final Fantasy 4 changed the way I perceived video games, making them more like an interactive novel than a best score rank-board.

I know it was recent, but Shadow of the Colossus completely changed the way I look at games. Although the stories of my favourites such as FF IV or the Metal Gear Solid series have gripped me in the past by the scale and depth of storyline, but SotC is really the first game to appeal to me on a emotional level.

It's tough deciding between this, Kirby 64, and Sonic 2, sonic 2 being the first game I ever played, and Kirby 64 being the first I ever beat, but this game is it. I was just a little kid playing this and I never realized A) Just how great of a game it was B) I was pretty damn good at it for a 4 year old who had only played a few games in his life.
Mega Man X. Ever since the first time I watched my older cousin going and defeating Armored Armadillo, I was hooked. It was the first Mega Man game I ever beat. Now, Mega Man is my favorite series and I've beaten nearly all of the main titles in the series.

I'd probably have to say Donkey Kong Country. At the time, I was so blown away that I couldn't imagine games evolving even more. The thing that really got me was how the sun set during the first level, and the second level was at night during a storm. The music also did an amazing job creating atmosphere. I even remember my parents commenting on Aquatic Ambiance.

The biggest impact: Final Fantasy VII, and I don't say that lightly. But I played this game preceding that, and lemme tell you, I don't hold its presence in my heart lightly either. Those were the golden days. Back then, 3-D was a lively promise and a striding innovation. That has since died down. There is hardly a way to improve games now. Originality has faded so much.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time had this same effect on me. When I hit a rock or a tree with my sword, it sounded like it. I felt immersed in the world of the game, like I WAS Link or something. It's what made me love video games.
Final Fantasy VI. If you've ever played this game and cried you know what I mean.
Mother 3 also affected me, even though I played it in Japanese (on the GBA). Youtube spoiled the ending for me when I was looking for info about it beforehand... Since it packed that much of an emotional punch in a foreign language, I can't wait to play the English ROM!

It opened my eyes to the realization that video games really were a form of storytelling, that through the medium of interactivity they could provide something unique to a story that no other form of media could. And as this list of VGMs has shown us, it is often through the game's music that its story is best told.
Geno was THE man in the game. I always used mario, bowser, and geno for raw power I loved bowser but he was only good for melee Geno was good for all, plus I kept him cuz i could never stop myself from trying to get a 9999 on geno whirl :P
Lol, I can't really say, there's so many. Different games played different rolls in my life. Mariokart and Mario All Stars for my young years. Chrono Trigger Smash Bros. for my pre-teen years. And FFVII and other RPG's my highschool years.
My biggest impact had to be Duck Tales on the NES....My one and only memory of being a little boy was me at 2 years old playing Duck Tales (I got pictures^^) The game was awesome and it launched me into the world of gaming

I think it has to be Pokemon Crystal for GBC. It was from there that my gaming really started. It had such awesome graphics (for a handheld), incredibly long story (16 gyms, Elite Four and a Bonus Boss) and incredible music. Oh happy days...
Paper Mario or Super Mario 64. Paper Mario introduced me to RPG's in general and is to this day one of my favorite games. Super Mario 64 was simply the greatest game I had for a while. I remember it so fondly.

Yeah that is true, SMB3 and SMW both were extremly good for their time, and as you said, are legendary. I personally believe them to be equal in status, you just cant really decide which is best from the two. :D

Pokemon Crystal was probably the game that had the biggest impact on me. I remember looking on the website for hours, before and after it came out, and how cool I thought it'd be. What's kinda funny is, I didn't realize that I wanted it, or how much I wanted it, until my brother gave it to me (along with his gameboy color) for my birthday. I was so happy, I screamed. :3 The pokemon animations for Crystal were amazing, and the story was great. It was so chilling to see the RB trainer at the end!
It's interesting cause even though my love for SMW is greater I think that SMB3 is the best of the Mario games. It's really been between SMW and SMB3 for me and I still flip flop sometimes. Both of those are legendary for their respective consoles.

For me, the game that impacted me the most was Sonic the Hedgehoh 2 for the Sega Genesis! I remember how when I first played it, the graphics and colors blew me away! The speed was brilliant for that generation! The fact that all you did was jump on robots and beat up a fat guy in funky robots as a blue hedgehog just made me hook onto the game the moment i turned it on! I still love it now!

I think for me it is Super Mario World. The SNES was the first home console my family ever had and I spent countless hours on it. Nothing really catches my attention like a new console launch. I think the most special one for me was the PS2 and playing SSX. I just couldn't believe it at the time hahaha. Gaming is such a great hobby.

FFX gave me the "wow!" when i got my ps2 in 07. super marios for the nes was a classic. it's one of my favorite and i wish i still had the game and the system.
A bunch of games had an impact on me, so many that i can't remember them all... Secret Of Mana, GoldenEye 007, Banjo & Kazooie, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country... On the last console generations, no one game made me feel like those games, except for golden titles like Metroid Prime on GC. I mean, that game is unique, i was a big fan of Metroid games before, the only one that i cannot finish was the first one, but when i discovered MP... OMG! It's for me the best Adventure Game of NGC!

One morning I woke up and decided that I would rather keep playing Conker's Bad Fur Day than go to school. I then dropped out and got a GED and joined the army. A decade later, I'm repairing game consoles for a living.
Hmm, the first game I got for myself was mario 64 and i loved it. The second game was starfox 64, and me and my friend played it almost religiously. After i got a playstation 2 someone gave me Jade Cocoon 2 for a present, and to this day i keep coming back to it. I played that game for about 2000 hours. more than any other game in my life.

Probably Kingdom Hearts, that game was just awesome back then. I even spent a lot of time with a friend that wanted to play it, so he came over tons of times and I'd couch him and cheer him on during boss battles :P He beat the game, but he could never beat Hades in the Coliseum. I even showed him the Sephiroth fight once and he was afraid of the music, so he didn't plan on fighting him.

these are supposed to be replies to myself, but youtube sucks at doing that. - super smash bros melee. this is not even a game to me anymore. i play it "competitively" so it's bigger than that, and more of a social thing. i've made many good friends through this game, traveled to different countries (well, from canada to the US), and just gotten so much more out of it than the creators could have hoped for. i don't know what they did to make this game so intensely fun, but i thank them.
Super Metroid probably had the biggest impact on me, in that it was one huge inter-connected world, and it was set up that I was free to explore it in any way I wanted. Never before had a game felt so expansive. The music and graphics made an atmospheric experience I had never felt before too. Also, Lunar: Silver Star Story was the first game to really get me interested in the story and characters. I had played RPGs before, but they never made me feel they had real emotion in their script.
Incidentally, my dad is also the reason i played secret of evermore =) i glanced at it on a shelf one day, but didn't pick it up; he thought it looked interesting, and upon looking at the case more closely (this was a small store without the actual box art) i agreed. - super mario rpg. one time i broke both my wrists, and among my first thoughts was "I hope I can still play super mario rpg." turns out i could, it just hurt a bunch. this is another near flawless game.
some of the more important games to me: - ff7. this is the deepest game i've ever played. i played it again recently, and though i can see its flaws more easily now, it still gets to me on a level most video games don't; usually that place is reserved for movies and music. - super metroid. this game is perfect. it is highly atmospheric. it's also the only game my dad has ever helped me get past a puzzle on. now, maybe 10 years later, i can beat it in under an hour.
I feel the same way about SM64. The first console I had was a NES but the first game that truly had an impact on me was Goldeneye 64. I loved other games before it but Goldeneye was the first multiplayer game in my memory that all of my friends and myself would play nonstop all weekend and have great fun destroying each other on. Never got old. Nine years later and we still play from time to time when everyone is in town. Top 2 players play on, bottom 2 surrender controllers, rinse/repeat.
I wish I knew if biggest impact meant the same as favorite. It probably doesn't. Would it be the game that I've played the most? Could a game that I have only played once have the biggest impact? Certainly it can have fond memories, but is that the same thing? Lunar Silver Star Story Complete is the earliest game I cried over. Sonic 3 I've played the most. Beating Goldeneye all the way on hardest difficulty I think is my greatest videogame accomplishment. And all the games played with my sitters
First game system ever? Sega Genesis, I got Lion King for my first game and I frrreeeaaakkkeeed out it was so much fun. Got me going and I poured over video game magazines which set me on my career path of journalist to this day! Great vids, and I'm a happy subscriber!
It's hard for me to say. I loved Donkey Kong Country 1-3 on SNES and those games are the earliest ones I remember playing.
ooops. forgot one game. crucial. you could see this one coming from a mile away too, i'm afraid. But Wily stage 1-2 in megaman 2. remember playing to it just to sit there and listen to it for fifteen minutes or so before actually starting to play. (ok, overall the nes megaman games have wicked soundtracks, including 9. They just knew how to make the music much more alive in those games, a bigger part of the experience instead of the background, nonmemorable music we tend to get today.

Biggest impact? cant really say... Began back in the C64 and Nes era's in the late 80's so there are so many games that have had a big impact on me. However there are a few games that opened up my eyes to the awesomeness of gamemusic. The SID chip of the c64 speaks its own volumes, and on nes i recall the first levels of gunsmoke and gradius got me going grooving when i was about.. i dunno.. 7 or so. =) Easy to say, i could write a scary big list.. but the limit isnt big enough. ;D
probably the game that had the biggest impact on me was donkey kong country because it was my first super nintendo game and at the time I had an NES and when I played it I thought it looked amazing!
me it was super mario world the first game i played i remembered christmas day i had gotten all clothes until my dad gave me a big box ii opened it and it was a super nintendo i freaked out and since i always played it i was in shock 1that they knew and i had gotten super mario world
As for biggest impact, probably Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana, which was the game that got me interested in VGM and RPGs. Odd choice, huh?
for me it probably was Rayman 2, I dont know why but i just loved this game and it was the first game i bought with my own money..i dont know why but there was just something special about this game for me :)
Pokemon Red. Nothing united my friends, my whole school even behind a banner quite like pokemon. It was everywhere, and everyone played it. Some of my favorite memories are hanging out with people I had never even talked to before playing pokemon, or spending the night at a friends house playing. Man, that makes me feel old =/

I'd have to to say Pokemon Ruby Version. I loved as a kid being able to train my pokemon and trying to be the best. It was a thrilling experience and I loved going around to all of the interesting places. Congrats on 400 VGMs, before this I hadn't subscribed but I plan to do so now. :P

Pokémon blue changed my life forever... I still love and play it. If it was not for Pokémon, I probably would not love video games as much as I do, and it arguably spawned my interest in Japanese culture. Not to mention it was the first RPG I ever played, the first video game I owned, and the first video game I completed on my own. Keep up the good work SupraDarky!
The game that had the most profound effect on me was probably Super Mario Bros 3 (All Stars version) , it just captured Joy for me, the worlds were colorful, the music was great, and most of all, it was a lot of fun, and considering the way I was made fun of at the time, it was good escape.
I think the game with the most impact on me was on the PS1, I'm not sure if it was Suikoden or Ape Escape (I think it was a tie). I think Ape Escape was the first 3-D Game I played (or maybe it was Croc, Spyro, or Crash Bandicoot, not so good with my memories lol XD). But it could also be The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time or Pokemon Stadium (both on the N64 and both tie with Ape Escape and Suikoden).
Probably the first stage theme in Castlevania Bloodlines, as that song ALONE captured me into the spirit of 2D action games. I've not let go of my love of 2D games since.
Final Fantasy IV had a huge impact on me. At the time, I was a little kid that only wanted non-stop action. I bought Final Fantasy IV out of hype and got completely sucked into it. It taught me to appreciate a story in games, opened my mind to a world outside of bad licensed GBA songs, and showed me a deeper side to gaming. It still remains my favorite game of all time.

I'm guessing Starfox 64 (Lylat Wars), because not only was it my first game on my first TV console. But it was also the first 3D game I ever played. It marked the time I would play videogames seriously, instead of just casually on my sisters NES.
The most impactful game for me would definitely be Donkey Kong Country. Before, I'd had an atari, played those games, on of my friends had a NES, yeah he had some cool stuff, but one I saw DKC... I knew I had to get a SNES. It was my first console I really loved. I still play that same SNES today.

Oh, jeez.... Um, I think it may be either Pokemon Snap or Pokemon Puzzle league. Stupid, I know, but the thing is I poured so much time into those two, trying to get better pictures or beating Gary. On the other hand I did buy Wind waker solely to own a copy of OoT... I only got through The Deku tree when I first played it, but the people and the uniqueness stuck with me. That was my first REAL game. And FF3 (ds) gave me my love of RPG's. I CAN'T CHOOSE!
Chrono Trigger. The main theme was a masterpiece plus the story was actually driving and didn't treat you like a kid. Definitely my favorite game of all time.

My gaming days were changed forever when I rented, on a whim cause I'd never played any of them before, Final Fantasy 2 on SNES. Everything about that game still enthralls me to this day and it's still my favorite game of all time. It's the game that made me fall in love with RPGs and turn them into my favorite genre. The Dreadful Fight still makes me go "holy crap" and the Theme of Love still brings a tear to my eye. And, Kain will always be the best FF badass ever =D
Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega master System had the most impact on my life... Why? Cause it was my very first video game and i played it so much, i did perfect speedruns at the age of 6 for this game. Also I still remember the music and the great stags, it was just a perfect mix. I am very happy that my introduction to video games was a good one and it started with a game I still enjoy today! Hope you post another 400 Videogame tracks, since VG music is my favorite kind of music!

lol i know this sounds impossible but my first game was pokemon blue and you know that cave when you use flash well i didnt know where flash was and i got stuck there and somehow trained my blastoise to like level 60 really! i dont know how i did it though =/

Hmmm....tough. Pokemon Red was the first game I ever played...I'd have to go with that. Not the best thing I ever played, but I still remember my team- Venasaur, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Hitmonchan, Lapras, and Pidgeotto.

Nice story Supra, and good pick. Game that had the biggest impact... I'd have to say Ikaruga on gamecube (and dreamcast but GC is the one I played). Seems an odd choice, given my love of retro consoles and entire youth spent playing oldskool games, but Ikaruga completely changed the way I see games forever. The power of the ending, and the beauty of the design, the richness of the music... it changed me. There just isn't enough room in this box to really explain it :P
Aww. What a cool story involving Super Mario 64. My first 3D game was umm let's see. -thinks about it- It actually was Final Fantasy VIII because that is when I finally got a Playstation. I was so amazed by the special effects from the spell;s. Such good memories.
i know it's cliche, but ocarina of time had the biggest impact on me. I loved games before that, but when I first played Ocarina I was hooked instantly. The depth of the game is just so fantastic, i'll never grow tired of it. Even though it isn't my favorite in the game, the song that has the biggest impact on me emotionally is definitely Kokiri Forest. Every time I hear that song i think of my childhood days.
GoldenEye 007. First game I ever played. I was excited to go to my cousins house and played what I called back then the shooting gun game. GoldenEye 007 was the game that got me interested in video games.
For me, my greatist memory of a game would be U.N. Squadron. I love that game so much. I and my Grandma would always play it all the time. She actually helped me get the $1,000,000 plane for the first time! =)

when i was a kid the game that made the biggest impact on me was klonoa for the PS1 Serriosuly this game was amazing for me i played the demo it too death XD and then the real game over and over again, it was the first game that made me apreciate VGM and the first game were i got realy into the stroy and got attached to the characters... i neededn't remind you of the infmous ending and yes i'll admit i did cry a little XD Klonoa truely one of the greaest games on the PS1

It might sound cliche but Final Fantasy 7 has that distinction with me. I remember when it came out how bad I wanted it, but didn't have a Playstation. I played it my cousins, but that would be for a short time. Then that Christmas I opened a gift I got FF7... then continuted to open until I got the Playstation, haha. That game was my winter break.
