That was the time where Nintendo was extremely great and awesome. They launched N64 with Mario 64 and this game, anyone could match that. Now Nintendo can't make this again... so sad...

I love seeing comments from the people who actually worked on the game. I guess even they feel nostalgic like the rest of us.
I think I recall playing this mode and landing and smoothly as possible on the ground just so this song could loop for a while :)

@electricmastro Yes, that is what I am talking about. It was typical of Nintendo to add credits unscrupously for marketing or internal reasons. I helped found Paradigm, the company that made PilotWings 64, and I had worked with them for 7 years before doing that game. I wrote, arranged, sequenced, programmed, mixed and installed every track in the game. Mr. Nakatsuka had nothing to do with the music in the game whatsoever. Mr. Wada approved each of the tracks on site in Dallas.

OMG, what I posted here is not true! I forgot about the intro song which is a remake I did of the original SNES version that Mr. Nakatsuka created!! Please forgive me!! I feel terrible about not crediting Mr. Nakatsuka!!

@electricmastro LOL! Yeah, I get the porno reference. Not quite what I intended, but what the hell. And, yes, I am Dan Hess. By the way, despite the game credit given, there were NO other composers/arrangers on the PilotWings game. I personally checked in each and every track to the tree (software dev term). Any other reference is Nintendo hype.

Lovin' the comments. I wrote the soundtrack to Pilotwings 64 and it is so good to see that it wasn't lost on the target audience. I have posted this on a few of the videos from the soundtrack, but most 40 year old reviewers didn't get it at the time. I had a frickin blast working on the game. Different times...
I realise this is 8 years old. But this is incredibly chill stuff. I haven't looked up your history at all but I do hope you haven't stopped.

I will admit i am 24 now however as a child every Christmas we would rent a N64 and this game along with Goldeneye were the ones we play. And I agree this song does bring back memories and is still great to listen to 15 years later.

Yeah I love it. Cheesy soft jazz with really fake sounding saxophones. It's so corny but also so great. And seriously yeah, why isn't there a new Pilotwings? You could do so much with the Pilotwings concept on a next-gen console. I wanna play Birdman with Wii Motion Plus!
I remember playing this when I was a young lad around 11 on my N64. I'm gonna be 21 this year! Damn how time flies. It was a good game they should make another one. I like the song brings back memories and it does kinda sound like porn music hahaha
I have always loved this track, and also always felt it would make an awesmoe porn song. :P Also, I still don't know why a new Pilotwings game has ben made...I fell in love with this one.
when i was younger, i always had the urge to pop in the game and turn this song on on a rainy day...it just fit the mood for such an occasion
just remember as birdman flyin around the first island at night to this music.....so chilled out and relaxing. Brings back good memories.

This song is always so relaxing. Damn, now I wish they would put it on Virtual Channel. If it wasn't for those damn cannon levels I would have beaten it.
