I like the music, but not really the fight, just because he was my favourite character in the game and I didn't want to fight him and the end of the fight is also sad

It befuddles me how a lot of alien races fit in their suits when they look so organic in the Metroid series...
I like how towards the end it sounds like one of the boss battles from Hunters.

I'm pretty sure it stays there. Regardless, Rundas is very definitely dead. You don't survive getting impaled on a massive spire of ice, then disappearing as you're absorbed into Dark Samus. His ship could have also been destroyed.

What do you mean? His ship is there on Bryyo for the rest of the game. And the ship that follows Samus at the end looks more like the Delano 7, Sylux's ship.

She's dead... I still think there COULD be something left from Dark Aether / Ing Emperor, since Metroid Prime survived too and became Dark Samus.

Thing is sylux and rundas look almost similar both physically and in terms of ships but rundas was absorbed by dark samus after his death but with dark samus killed then the particles of rundas and the other hunter cant be put back together. And the reason why his ship isnt bryyo could suggest that the GF might have returned rundas' ship back to olympus just a theory. But the ship at the 100 per cent ending of mp3 definitely belongs to sylux.
but who knows maybe it was dark samus for all we know nintendo will tell us or we will see it in the new trilogy
nintendo asked us...what would we want in the next metroid prime game? phazon or dark samus...i choose phazon and btw it looks like rundas as i looked at his ship when it was in bryyo now its gone by the end and rundas was kinda frozen...he is ice so yea not to mention when u visit the area later he isnt there...think about it a little bit...he disappears, then his ship, then in the good ending a ship like his goes after you
It's not his ship that follows you in the ending. I have no idea who it is, but unless Rundas has ridiculous healing ability and somehow got a new ship, it's not him.
The sad part is he didn't.
Just started playing MP3... shame that such awesome music is wasted on such an easy fight. I like that it's a hodgepodge of themes.
This was actually the saddest part of the game for me. It felt like I was having to fight my best friend who didn't know what the hell he was doing, because the corruption had robbed him of control. I even caught myself saying "Don't make me do this."

Everyone loves Rundas. He saves your fucking life, regrets every mistake he does and wants the best for others first rather than for himself. Oh yeah, he's badass too. NOW, GANDRAYDA...

all the fights made me kinda sad really. they were cool characters, i really hated to kill them.
awesome theme, awesome battle. it's a shame because with a little practice the battle is over before you can hear the entire theme ^^. mp 3 should have had a slightly harder default mode. awesome nonetheless.

@SirZidane I am fairly sure that the ship that follows Samus at the end belongs to Sylux since he and the ship have a similar design. It mostly just for cliffhanger effect. God i hope Sylux is a main villian in some future games
@RustyMailbox59 Prime 2 does have a happy ending. Dark Samus is dead (again), the Ing are gone and the Lumiath got their planet back. I still don't know how to interpret the best ending of corruption, though. the ship that follows Samus's at the end.... is that supposed to be one of the hunters?

Guess his ending, as well as the other 2 hunters was harsh...still. i find that they should've survived their demise. After Samus beats them, Dark Samus comes in and absorbs their life energy, and once Dark Samus dies, they should be free. That's how i see it---> happy ending. ^_^

I'm wondering if anyone can make out what the voices are chanting in the background? I'm fairly sure they say "Samus" a number of times, but the rest I can't hear clearly enough.

Specifically at 1:00. The sound of the synth (or whatever instrument it is) and the abrupt riff of the guitar coming and going.
And his inspiring dialogue with lines like: "Hey relax. We're the good guys. Justice will prevail and all that stuff... Right, Samus?"
For some reason I never seem to notice good boss theme, guess its cause I' m so concentrated, but this is actually a really good theme. Poor Rundas
I love it. To me it sounds like old 70's funk bands like Santana or Steely Dan.
It took me a few tries to beat him, but the music definately made the experience enjoyable.
It was also a really awesome fight, of course. XD Hard (probably the hardest in the game, given your limited equipment) but manageable.
Oh, I loved this one when I heard it in game. Quite a dark theme, you can imagine how Samus is feeling- knowing that she's fighting someone on her side, but also knowing that if she doesn't kill him, he will kill her instead. A hard choice, echoed wonderfully in this theme. It keeps a tempo just high enough to keep the battle pumping but melancholy and sad enough to speak more than words could.
I know I'll probably be thumbed down for this, but I've never seen the big deal about this tune. Gandrayda's theme is better. Then again, I've never been a big fan of Kenji Yamamoto's "Metroid Prime sound".

Rundas was the best in that game. Sucks that he died, he was Noxus merged with Iceman and had a steroid boost of awesomeness. Plus that voice actor was badass too. Top it all off with a theme and unforgettable battle like this and you've got an incredible character. Rundas will be sorely missed.
