My favorite game of all time. I have plenty of fond memories playing it and getting lost in its world. The soundtrack is amazing. I remember that, at the time of me playing it, the OST really reminded me of Golden Sun's. Lo and behold, it was by the same composer haha.
That voice synth patch is in so many ToS songs and it's such a big part to the feel of the soundtrack
I've got to ask, time and time again, just what is the point in Japanese culture which always has some of the best JRPGs ending up with the main character holding dual weapons. From .//hack to Tales of Symphonia to La Pucelle to Suikoden to Grandia... just what is it that makes holding 2 of the same better than both ever could be on their own...?

This song brings out an emotion nothing else does for me. Its sad. Nostalgic. Almost hopefull. While being short and sweat. This kind of music is not made any more for tales games. Nothing I've heard from berseria is even close to how wonderful this is. Any good game can be an even better one with a splendid soundtrack, I've felt no passion or soul put into any modern tales games. And that's a shame.
I love meditating to this in the morning.
*sighs* I miss this game. Such good times playing it and walking to work on sunny days. One of my favourite games of all time.

i love this music. I used to have this awesome couch in my gaming room....and sometimes i would just load the game up, get to the desert town, and just take a nap with it on....that was my sleeping couch. I know it sounds like something old to say, but i was just out of college at the time, and ive never been someone who could take naps....weird memory.

It is, newer games have music that is ambiance more than anything else....I miss gaming music. Nintendo and JRPGs are still pumping it out and i know indies are really nailing it, but i just dont have time to play as many indies as i would like.

When I listen to SD's lists, which are overall of great quality, this songs always stands out. One of the best songs I've ever heard. Love the bals feel. To me, it sounds like something Enya could have composed.
I recently finished the game and it was GREAT! The overall story wasn't that important and the drama could be more intense, especially there was enough materials, some were very intense like the Desians, but the mysteries behind the characters, their schemes and all about the world, kept me curious to proceed the story more eagerly. Kratos Aurion is my favorite character, by far! ^^ I no play the sequel and despite the lack of an overworld, the game is pretty good, especially the combat is much more fun and challenging.
I finished it yesterday. I was reluctant to play it at first cause I've had it with over rated games, but I LOVED it. Kratos is also my favorite character. I still think Tales of the Abyss is the best in the series though.
This game reminds my time living in Toulousse, France. I buy it for my birthday in that time, and we spend me and my friends nighs and hours playing it. Marvelous times!

I Agree mostly. Tales of the Abyss was my personal all time favorite, with Symphonia in at a very close second. Symphonia does hold a special place for me, as it's the first Tales game I played all the way thru (was so hooked I beat it playing with every character as soon as they became playable), for a total of i think 11 or 12 times. The grade shop is the best part of the Tales games. Adds so much replayability.

Nope. Maybe I will someday, but I won't buy a console just for a single game, which is why I haven't played Vesperia yet, since I don't own a 360.

I seriously doubt that. It's a pretty subjective matter though, so it really comes down to what your tastes are. If you want a positive, upbeat game, go with Graces. If you want a more dark and realistic experience, Abyss is probably your safest bet. All the games have SOMETHING they do better than the others, so it's really hard to say which one is "the best". In my personal opinion it's Symphonia or Abyss, but I can perfectly understand why someone would prefer Vesperia or Graces.
Well, Tales of Rebirth IS the best Tales of. But nobody knows it, because nobody played.

Me and my bro played this and beat this game together, Tales of Symphonia was a great game. Tales of Abyss is also my favorite. I love RPGs when you can have other players join in and help whoop butt. This song is relaxing as well, i feel like im at peace......
It plays in the Fooji Mountains. I know it definitely plays on the initial visit, but, it might change for the later visit. I would have to double check on that one though. :)
Playing through this game with my friends has got to be one of the most fun times of my life. Love ToS so much.
I beat this game in, like, 4 days... lol, that might not be remarkable to anyone else but I like to take my time with games; but, with this one, I just couldnt put it down. I remember I used to actually laugh at Lloyd's lines most of the time, he was a pretty memorable character IMO. This sounds like a dungeon music, where did this play, again?
I have this game and never finished it, I remember getting to some other (mirror) world and got kinda stuck with the level my characters were. I need to go back and try again.

A fun game with like able characters but there was just too much alike to Star Ocean 2 (one of my all time fav rpgs) for me to truly enjoy it. I doubt I could even fit all of the similarities in a single comment. Not bad, just not as good as I had hoped when I bought it.

@lismore1 As I intend to play ToS, I'm afraid I've never played the game, although, I do love RPG's as well. One particular RPG I'd recommend if you appreciate good quality would be Chrono Cross. There's honestly nothing like it.

Im just sad most of the tales werent as good as Tales of symphonia. Am i right? None of them really had that *spark* with me. Besides Tales of abyss. The characterization in there was really well done.
Tales of Symphonia simply breathtaking and amazing, it's a shame most games these days don't turn out like this gem did.

@Babybahamut this plays in the Latheon Gorge, that mountain you have to climb up by being blowed away in a bubble by air blowing plants. Its near the end of the game.
I know you probably don't care anymore but you should have totally kicked their asses. That's what I did when my annoying little brother tried to sell this game without me knowing.

I honestly wouldn't mind! Funny how I'm almost beating Tales of Symphonia for the first time right now. I just beat Mithos after he resurrects Martel in the Tower of Salvation.
Yeah, any of those would work, really. Even just grass would work if it was of the same style and integrated better...just a little boring. It's just such a hack job, poorly executed. Your idea of Tehe'alla and Sylvarant in the background would give the characters an environment that's specific and fits them well. Maybe you should remake the cover, it could only be an improvement,lol!

Yes, the individual drawings are good (I believe they are either conceptual designs or early game promotion) but the designer simply clipped the art out, feathered the edge then dropped them into a PHOTO of grass and used and bland font and generic drop shadow for the title and called it a day. I would say it's lazy but if you were REALLY lazy, you would use the logo on the box (which is not bad) and slap it on some sketches that look artsy and be done, that would look far better than this crap.
I think Raine looks very pretty though in that cover.

Symphonia has awesome tracks all around. But for me the one I can listen to over and over....would have to be the Forest of the Treant.

The first time i played ToS it changed the way I view RPG's forever. Now I've played through it more times than I care to remember, and every time it strikes me what a truly outstanding game it is in all respects: the music, gameplay, characters, story, art style - everything. It has won a place in heart that will never be taken, and has so many amazing soundtracks they could frankly all be in this list. Quite remarkable.

I don't mean this in any lolicon way at all. But there's something neat about presea having a blank stare, plus an Axe that's huge(easily bigger and weights more than her body). Then again, I kinda liked everyone, Reagal, Raine, Colette... everyone hates her(cept me).

It's for Gamecube. It's one of my most favourite RPGs. And also, the sequel for this will be out on November 11 for the Wii.

Oh that's right, I remember now. Thanks :) Somehow I'm not sure this music really fits that area. I'm not saying it's not a good piece of music, but it's a bit too relaxed considering they've just entered a world they shouldn't even know about, and know nothing of. It's stilla nice piece though.
