I was happy when I listened to the SSB remix of this song, They basically just remastered the song and made it sound the same as if it were released today.
It is certainly not too bombastic, but that doesn't mean it doesn't portray powerful emotions. I have never played this game, so I don't have nostalgia goggles for this song either, but I find it both intense in its own way and very tragic sounding. I don't really agree with you saying it's "below par", but of course, if you don't like it, feel free to not like it by all means!

I hate how in Brawl they remixed all of the Kirby music. I don't mean the remixes shouldn't have been included but the originals should have been in the game.

Apparently this is one of the greatest Kirby games, it's also one of the few I never got to play! ;_;

@HypnotizedByTv Sakurai, the guy who directs the series,didn't make this game or dreamland 3. Those two, along with dreamland 2 and Star Stacker, were directed by Shinichi Shimomura. Those games have a different cast of recurring characters and a different abilities system. They also are a bit slower paces and more likely to have an eldritch abomination for a final boss.

Yay! This was (and still is) one of the best Kirby games ever created. The only bad thing is that Kirby sometimes runs slow.... Other than that it's AWESOME!!! :D

Nah, I'm no LPer. They're kind of a fad that some can pull off and most couldn't. And you're right about people having their own tastes. I guess this song was just a miss for me.

I've had my fun with this boss in the past, but his music kinda seemed quiet compared to the SFX. It's got more of an "erupting tension" feel to it.

This track is AMAZING. It is just so perfect for a final boss, every part of it is so intense but not overbearing, just the right amount to really focus you in... you really feel like you're fighting something big, and you know you have to win... Simply superb, fantastic upload.
