I really cannot say just how emotionally beautiful this trilogy is. I started this Saga after beating Xenoblade Chronicles X, and began the long endeavor of watching all the cutscenes, and buying all the games in this trilogy. Xenosaga III is by far one of the most emotional games for me, nearly every scene is an earthquake of emotions for me, knowing that it's the final game in the series. Every character, every track, every single scene is just so beautiful from the Brawl with T-Elos and KOS-MOS, to the reveal of the Gnosis' existence, to the final moments at Zarathustra, this game had me crying really hard. This track is by far the perfect summary of the entire series. And it by itself would be the only reason I'd ever buy a Xenosaga Trilogy Remaster. This track is just so beautiful, I'd die to hear it remastered.
Ive played this game so much that it got scratched up pretty badly but unlike other gamss that have come and gone this one holds a special place for me so i could never get rid of it

So many goosebumps. This game is tied with like 3-4 others as games that somehow got fused to my soul or something to that effect. Finding Xenosaga 1 was easy.... finding 2 was challenging..... finding 3 was literally impossible until one day I walked into a Gamestop and saw Xenosaga 3.... it had JUST been traded in and was almost $50 bucks. Best $50 I may have ever spent. Check out the song that plays when you are fighting Margulis later in the game.... but there are so many magical tracks on this soundtrack.
Hey, what are those other games you're referring to? Just curious. I bought a PS2 for my brother with SotC and Silent Hill 2, but I might get Xenosaga 3 for me at some point, just to experience it on the legit stuff. I guess it did connect with me too when I played it à few months ago on emulator. The framerate dropped like crazy whenever there was blur (anima mode was a pain for that!). Other than that, it played like à charm!

Yes, it plays in the final battle between KOS-MOS and T-Elos, it starts playing when KOS-MOS blocks her attack with one hand.

Coming back here helps me cry everything out. Within the last 2 weeks, a man I respect and enjoyed watching on YouTube, Ronnie Edwards(Also Game Theory's Editor) committed suicide. Just 4 days from 7/31/2018 when I'm writing this, one of my closest friends lost his brother to an ATV accident. I haven't been able to respond very well in a way that would make him feel better. And my older brother's friend is coming home from his LDS Mission after 2 months(a full term is supposed to be 2 years) due to depression, and I can't tell how well my brother is taking it, since his birthday was 3 days ago and last year on his birthday, Chester Bennington(Linkin Park Frontman) also passed away. I'm sorry for taking up anyone's attention, I just wanted to tell @SupraDarky that this upload has helped me let out some bottling up emotions that probably wouldn't help me in the future. Whoever else reads this, it's never a bad thing to cry. I've had a pretty heavy month, but this song has helped me vent a little bit. Thanks, @SupraDarky. Thank you, Yuki Kajiura, for creating this masterpiece.

I love the part when this song kicks off, against T-elos, KOS-MOS is revealed to be housing the consciousness of a major religious character. That's monolith, putting their twists and huge reveals at the last second. Xenoblades 1 and 2, Xenosaga 3, (and I have yet to play Xenogears.) all have that in common.
Gears most definitely has a lot of twists that come in towards the end.
Xenogears hands down is a must play. There hasn’t been a game story or plot like it since and remains unparalleled to this days. Xenosaga series is good but Xenogears is on another level.

They just don't make epic games with epic storylines like this anymore. All we get are COD and AssCreed every year.
It's just harder to find those kind of games but they are still being made. Usually by smaller companies but that's the reason why those games don't get much media attention. Ni No Kuni for example was one of the more popular games with a simple but awesome story (imo) and a great villain with Cassiopeia.
Monolith is still producing games with epic storylines such as Xenoblade and Xenoblade X. If you haven't tried them, Xenoblade can be bought cheaply on the 3DS while Xenoblade X is on the Wii U for around $60. If you don't like one game, the other is pretty different.
try xenoblade chronicles, is just one hell of a ride!! I've never been moved by a game in a long time!

But xenosaga had better voice acting, animation and story telling. I'm not trying to be biased but that's just my opinion. It was originally made to have six parts, But due to the blunder of it not seeling, It was never finished.

Crimsonwolf Studios 2 ended up screwing the game over, because it was so different in the art and voice acting it ended up alienating fans of the first one resulting in abysmal sells. Still i feel that the game developers gave this last one everything they had. All 4 of the last 6 games were crammed into 1 gigantic game, feels really bad but in a way you have to give the developers props in making such a beautiful game knowing it wouldn't continue
For being such a packed game story-wise, they pulled it off better than I could've imagined. I learned about the state of Monolith at that point before I actually started playing it. The final chapter was still really good. I came here because of all the connections between this and Xenoblade. I kept telling myself "I probably like this better because I haven't played it over 8 times yet." I was lying to myself. I genuinely like this better than Xenoblade. I just hope the story continues at some point. Takahashi even said himself that he would like to make more if he got legal rights and financial backing.
And once again children bickering on what's better. Gears had a much better combat system yet due to it's own hubris its story telling got shot. Saga has an amazing story but combat didnt feel good till 3. One thing they have in common is that no matter what both had an amazing soundtrack that I hope gets a live version of.
I didn't mean to push it that way. Sorry if you thought I was. I just wanted to say that Xenosaga is a story that's very special to me, because it made me cry more than Xenoblade did. And this will sound weird, but I love stories and things that make me cry genuine tears of sadness. Xenosaga was one of the few...other than Xenoblade. I have yet to play Xenogears, but I think and hope it's another tear jerker. Takahashi really knows how to pull out emotions in his work.

That's normal. Xenosaga was a complete game, with no mysterious funding allocation to another game
Xenogears was a fucking mess of a game. The second disk was 80% floating still images and text, and the story it explained rendered everything that happened in disk 1 (i/e the shit you actually played through) almost completely irrelevant. I have no idea why people admire that game so much; I can only guess that they liked the faux-deep grandiosity of the story so much that it led them to disregard how glaringly it failed to achieve being a "game" on even the most basic level. Xenosaga had a similar problem, too much story for the three games they ended up making (and seriously, who the fuck plans to do a six-part RPG? These people are walking ego trips, and it shows). The jump between 2 and 3 is very awkward and you can only understand the dialogue if you read pages and pages of codex entries. BUT, at least they are GAMES that you proceed through by PLAYING THEM. Yeah, 1 had dated and generic turn-based RPG mechanics, and 2 was an awkward larval version of 3, but at no point in either is the entire experience reduced to that of a glorified e-book, the way FUCKING HALF OF XENOGEARS WAS. People who think Xenogears was better are fucking clinically retarded. 9 out of 10 doctors agree, and the tenth died of boredom trying to finish Xenogears. Oh and before you go wagging your finger about how Xenogears is deeper or how it's like a novel or whatever: WRONG. Read an actual novel and you will immediately understand the vast and inevitable difference in quality between a book that was intentionally created as a book, and a video game that accidentally turned into one halfway through because of budgetary constraints. The story in xenogears is shoddy, bloated, self-indulgent white fucking noise, and it would only have potentially worked if it were used, as originally intended, as a means of enriching a gameplay experience. As a series of dull cutscenes punctuated by the occasional half-assed hallway dungeon or boss fight, it was just tedious nonsense that should never have been released.

Personally, I loved Xenosaga III more than the other 2. Which is really funny because it's the only one I've beaten out of the three. SPOILER ALERT: The ending was very similar to the ending of Solty Rei.
@SlAyErSlOvE Xenosaga 2 was honestly the worst of the Triology mainly due to the changein the voice acting; it's argueably worse then FF10's which people can't even make a valid arguement for on why it's bad pas the laugh which was SUPPOSED to be bad in the first place. But I'll agree 3 was better then 2 was.
my favorite is 1 and will always be I play the hell out of it the other two didn't have as much content.... and the fighting was boring compared to first

They're good, but hardly the best RPG series. The first two games are very subpar and by the time the third hit, it was too late. Under delivered on the promise from Xenogears.
I thought I was the only one...Xenosaga is by far my favorite RPG I didn't realize it til the 3rd episode that it was based on biblical stories I loved it even more and yes when this battle occurred with Telos and Kos Mos I was just astounded by the music I didn't fight Telos for a good hour I just wanted to hear this song...so majestic

i wish more fantasy rpg games were being created, PS2 really centered on that kind of game genre(my favorite). Those games really had you gripped to the story, there wasn't a need for real world locations and what if scenarios. Companies built worlds, backstories, libraries of characters, and full scenarios based on some creativity. Where has that creativity gone to? Near nonexistent in today's game industry. hope they bring it back in the near future.

I do not know if selling like CoD is really necessary for the company to survive or if they're just being greedy but most of todays games are made solely for the purpose of making tons of money. I rember a time when gaming at least felt as if developers did actually care about the gameplay and the story they're telling and not only about the sales numbers. so, to put it in a nutshell: I too miss the PS2 times

hmmmhmm easily my 2nd favorite battle theme out of all RPGs. THAT fight was rather emotional for me as well because as much as I liked KOS-MOS I liked her opponent just as much and wasn't looking forward to killing them off. on a side not this would have be the perfect song to use in a cameo battle with Fei Fong Wong. a fight i think should have been in episode III as a extra boss. maby Fei resurfaced from Abel's mind/soul.
The whole trilogy I found to be emotionally straining, I needed a box of kleenex everytime I played, when this song came on I literally broke down and cried for nearly an entire hour. But I got up, and pressed on after. Truly an epic composition, for an equally epic story.

Second game... hmm, wtf happened to it?! the story does get fairly good later in the second one, but it kinda sucks at first. Now the the third game... OMG BEST GAME EVER!!! I dropped my jaw when i first played it. I'd lowered my expectations after the second game... but the third blew me away. Oh, and xenogears rocks, too ^.^

I am a great fan of Yuki Kajiura's music and when I heard that she also composed the soundtrack for Xenosaga 3, I considered playing Xenosaga 3 for the sake of enjoying the music. Then however, I heard that the story is intertwined with Episode 1 and 2 and I wavered. Then again, after listening to this track, I thought: "Fuck this shit, I am SO going to play all 3 games!"

Wish they made more games of this caliber this gen, alas, we have to deal with half-baked JRPG shovelware this gen. They come out but it takes forever to see one of this magnitude. How I miss the PS2 days.

This music is incredible... And the game alone. It is something that everyone needs to experience and go through. it is something really special and truly emotinal, all sequels, even the so called "second- the bad one". All three are part of something that is truly deep and special.

@kei0kusanagi I agree with you. There ARE many people who bash XS JUST because it isn't a real prequel to XG. "I didn't like XS1 because it wasn't XG... XS SUCKS... XG is so perfect" I heard that many times and it pisses me off (I'm a huge XG fan... but I loved Xenosaga so much too... those games are BOTH awfully flawed but they are BOTH full of awesome as well). And I heard this more than I heard Chrono Trigger fans getting nasty with CC (and I did heart nasty things regarding CC).

@goldman77700 No you're right, Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross does have great music, but I seen many people dislike Xenosaga because they prefer Xenogears.
@kei0kusanagi Oh please, honestly I hardly ever seen any Xenogears fans ripping this series like with Chrono Trigger fans LOVE to do for Chrono Cross. Yasunori Mitsuda did the music for all those games too, props to him to making them even memorable with such great music.
People who disliked this song is either a xenogears fan and totally just dont like this series or don't like music in general, that's why every song out there has 1 dislike.

If anyone is listening to this for the first time, then they will obviously not know the true background of this amazing scene/fight. For anyone to know its EPICNESS, they would seriously HAVE to play the 1st, second, and 3rd game. Period. In my humble opinion, this series is the BEST RPG series ever played on ANY console. -X-

this theme is more of Telos theme....seeing the first time i heard it was when you fight telos at the end. In my opinion...telos is more human than kos mos ever could be. I hope one day the idiots who chopped up xenosaga to hell will fix their shameful mistake. or xenogias will get a worthy rehatch.

Best Boss fight music EVER! It takes balls to put an emotional song like this in a boss fight, and skill to pull it off correctly. Xenosaga III does both.

I always loved the game when i bought it, when i heard this song it got even better.
so this was played during the final battle w. Telos. But it only loops the first 2:50 minuts of the track. Did i miss something, or is the second half of this song just a soundtrack-only part?

I'm not sure, I think they look like some kind of armoured exoskeleton that Kosy and Tely are wearing, because it responds to their colour schemes, and the Telosy one seems to have her handgun.
Yeah, Xenosaga Episode III's ending was very bittersweet.
I guess you havent played Xenogears, I love Xenosaga but I believe Xenogears is way better storywise.

sorry, i wasnt trying to make fun. I really am a big fan of FF. Its what got me into games really (FF8 and 9 being the best by far). I just think the storylines are way overrated.
LOL! You talk about true storyline, but this has one of, if not THE biggest storyline/universe of ANY game. Its extremely complex with HUGE amounts of emotion. When you talk of "classics", are you referring to FF1 where...you save the world by lighting crystals? AMAZING story there...or FF7? Kill the bad guy and save the world. Wow, even more amazing!
No one ask for your negativity. Xenosaga is a very nice game. Have you actually played it? It has a very unique story line.
This game/series is the reason why i hate the RPGs released nowadays...They lack the true storyline and backbone that makes u actually want to get on Youtube, find the BGM music to a boss and listen to it over and over again...Seriously you CANT beat the classics.

actually..ive played and own nearly every FF released in NA. And, at least to me, Xenosaga's music is far better than the majority of FF music.

yeah as I recall she was a practically a floating torso in space heading towards a planet. Good news is that she is so small she probably won't burn up in the atmosphere. Actually, I'm kind of wondering if they are going to make a game specifically focused on Kos-Mos. I thought she was a particularly well fleshed out character, not to mention pretty like a flower.
I thought she wasn't dead. At least that's what I gathered from the ending of the third game.

Actually, Ep. III (or the real Ep. II) ended the way it was supposed to, since that was the end of Shion's arc. In the original plan, a new arc would begin in the next two episodes (obviously, we see that plan went awry). Long story short, Shion's arc ends in Ep. III, and new one would begin if a new game was to be made, complete with new characters, with the exception of KOS-MOS and chaos

Not really, no. Officialy, there is no direct connection. Any connection between the two is theorized by fans, but officially, they're two separate series. And 3 was a condensed version of 3-6's intended plots, because 2 bombed so hard. That's why so much stuff happened in 3.
I'm filled with awe. I can't even accept nor think of something like "Before I die I can no longer play great games like this". Preposterous isn't it? =(
You know, Xenosaga III is probably the most tragic, depressing video game I've ever played. And the soundtrack does its job so perfectly. It's beautiful. This, and the song for the boss battle that follows this one against the Red Testament and his ally... those who've been there know what I'm talking about. You need that song. I believe it's "The Harsh Truth".
Not really. The games are not directly linked to each other. Think of them like "Alternate Universe" versions of one another.

KOS-MOS... I cried during the entire ending. It was one of the best endings I ever watched. I do miss you, KOS-MOS.
KOS-MOS is not dead, just deactivated until someone can find and repair her.
