This song creeped me out because when you get missing no. and have it in your party you get bugs and glitches in other parts of the game. When I went to the elite four with missing no. this music played and then stayed that way even after leaving the area. when I got rid of missing no. everything went back to normal.

Nah, Nintendo would've survived it, and Game Freak would've been assimilated, most likely. Pokemon, on the other hand wouldn't see a complete version. At least, not with this song in tact.
They should re-release these games for mobile devices, keep them identical to when they were released and charge like 2.99 for them. They would sell millions of copies of each game guaranteed. Funny thing is, this is the only version of Lavender town that's actually creepy to me. The G/S/C, FR/LG, and HG/SS versions didn't sound creepy at all (except for one span of about 5 seconds in the FR/LG version).

This song was scary as heck, and felt like it was trying to steal my soul with each tune, so at that time I freaking loved it for being so good at doing it's job. But seriously, when playing alone at night, any errand I had at Lavender was performed ASAP.

When I was a kid and came to lavender town, this song really frightened me. But now I love that music, it sounds actually really beautiful...
@TwilightPrincess902 You're not the only one (only difference is that when this game came out, I was a teenager, 13 or 14), I always found Lavender Town to be more calming than eerie. If it weren't for that creepypasta, the comments about Lavender Town would be more nostalgic than anything with the occasional "creeped out" memory, kind of like what you see on some Donkey Kong Country songs.

Not telling you what to do or anything, but in the japanese Red and Green Beta Versions, the Lavender Town music had high pitched sounds that only kids could hear that caused brain hemorages (spelt wrong I know) and eventually made them commit suicide. Symptoms included addiction to the game, nosebleeds, and extreme uprise in violence. Just saying...

@zetamaniac I think the description of kangaskhan could have been changed though, like: "It's mother's skull cracked and broke off when it evolved. Now it has a baby of it's own." Still not sure why the idea was changed though, it's not like it was too creepy or anything (some other pokemon are creepier anyway).
@zetamaniac The story isn't the reason, but it is true that it was supposed to evolve (after marowak) into kangaskhan. The story is made up by someone, but the fact that the baby in the kangaskhan's pouch looks a lot like a baby cubone without the skull makes it very likely. Also, the size of kangaskhan makes sense for it to be a final evolution. It may have been changed due to the fact that every generation would wear it's mother's skull and have a skull over a skull?

When I first played Blue Version, this song scared me so much, but eventually it grew on me. Pokemon dying was a mysterious backstory that I liked. None of the following generations had the same death backstory as Red and Blue had.

I actually played in lavender town when i was four. i was in a graveyard at my great grandpas grave with my family playing in this town and i thought the ghosts were real.

When the game was first released in Japan, there was an odd phenomenon between children ages 7-12, particularly in those using headphones to listen to the sound effects. Increase of nosebleeds, irritability, insomnia, and addiction to the game, playing for hours and hours on end and crying to the point of vomitting when the opportunity was taken away. 70% of these cases ended in suicide.
In almost every case, despite game time hours recorded to the limit of the internal clock, the game had not progressed further than "Lavender Town".
A closer analysis of the game revealed a pitch of sound in the audio of the music for "Lavender Town" undetectable by fully developed human ear drums. Thousands of these "first edition" copies of the game (which conatin some other small differences) were recalled and the game was rereleased with remastered audio for "Lavender Town".
The widely known version is said to be missing three extra notes, as well as the unique, binural pitch of the first edition, although this is uncomfirmed due to the rarity of working first edition copies; the internal clock and 'battery save' have all timed out and ceased fucntion, and in many cases the game will freeze upon entering any battle.
Lavendar Town was a place surprisingly dark place for a Pokemon game.

man, 1st gen pokemon is the best, hands down. i have so many memories packed away in that small, square cartradge. i'd always bike straight through this town, cause i'd always be too freaked out. the first time i went in the tower, i got so scared that i didn't play it for months, until i had my cousin get through it for me. good times.

Well, it used to be rock paper scissors back then. Now that you say that, I'd prefer back then.
the main type which pissed me off was the ghost type... in red/silver, they had very unorthodox attacks... moves that were creepy, and slowly wore down on the enemie's health, or dragged them down with you if you were defeated. they werent DIRECTLY powerful, as they had no real one-turn "flamethrower" type attacks... with this, they were tougher to defeat, given their type... now, pretty much evey pokemon can learn dark type, and even ghost type moves to defeat them easily.
Uh... no... actually, I mean the exact opposite... The game used to be hard... luck played a larger role, and type had a much bigger impact. pokemon had more limited movesets, and there was little to no hope of defeating an opponenet with a type advantage over you. now, every type can learn a huge variety of moves that may or may not make sense regarding the pokemon's type, and defeat just about any opponent as long as youve got a few levels on them.
yeah.... in the old days you just beat at each other hoping luck was on your side.
I stopped loving the series @ silver... nowadays any pokemon can learn moves to defeat any pokemon... used to be like 6way rock paper scisors
