The first game of a series that never came out of Japan unfortunately (Edit: correction, the 3rd entry on 3DS did!), especially since it seems to be quite good. I like how the soundtrack has the same naming convention as Koshiro's other work on the Etrian Odyssey series. It's not a coincidence since this game was made by the director behind the first Etrian Odyssey, Kazuya Niinou (bonus interesting fact: he's the director behind the Dragon Quest Builders series).

Hell yes! I have been plowing through this series lately, and it's fantastic. It is an absolute shame we never got the first three games stateside. 7th Dragon 2020-II was amazing, and Code VFD is a wonderfully nostalgic experience that just can't be seen to its fullest without playing the earlier games. These games are definitely worth your time, and the first three games are all fully fan translated!

Too bad the 3DS one had like no difficulty curve to it. It's a fine game outside of that imo. If you haven't heard the Super Arrange version for this song, I'd recommend taking a look at it cause it slaps real good.

For being a DS game, the sound quality is quite good. I've always been a fan of the Etrian Odyssey soundtracks and I look forward to listening to this games soundtrack. I love that I still get introduced to new games because of this channel.
