This game is really close to Mario Kart perfection. Apart from better graphics when they release #9 on the next console, I have hard time seeing how they can make it much better. It's a bit like with Smash Bros really. Both DLC packs were also great, I love how the Animal Crosing track has 4 seasons.

Is that silly bunnyhop still the fastest way to drive like it was in the Wii U version? That and the horn item are what made me drop the game, took away both the craziness and smooth driving I loved from the franchise :(

@JFK piano Turbo hopping is no longer useful in the switch version. Not sure what your issue is with the horn item... but you can hold two items now, so item gameplay is a bit more crazy.

Deluxe was really disspointing with the content it lacked, it really needed more to justify the full price tag, but it's Mario Kart so watcha gonna do, people will buy it anyways. If anything, at least this track makes me more excited for the new Animal Crossing.

@King Blank Good to hear. What I didnt like about the horn is that it was way too good as a defensive item, you're supposed to be punished for being in first in MK :P

@JFK piano balance is important. Mario kart historically is genuinely mean to places 1-3, and the horn exists so that, while you still have a harder time in first place, you aren't getting punished by random, unavoidable items simply for being *good at the goddamn game*

@Harrison Lane That's the thing though, I see MK when racing against players (with items) as a party game. A good party game does not necessarily need to be fairly balanced, MK being one of the prime examples of it as they are known for giving chances to those behind to make a comeback. The horn made it too easy to dominate the game, leaving out those beginners.

@JFK piano That's why I like the lighning bolt (everyone except those way in the back get targeted,) and the bullit bill/golden mushroom. These let others catch up, while not punishing people who are in first place!

I should look up the composer for the MK8 tunes. They feature some incredible sax. Not a lot of Western (non-Japan) composers are this bold and awesome with jazz influences these days it seems.

As a fan of Animal Crossing and Mario Kart, whne Villager and Isabelle got reveales for DLC and brought a long a track with remixed music i lost it. This track is so beautiful and to top it all of they have the Roost for the results music.
