I actually still haven't played Persona 5, but we all knew we'd get an enhanced version eventually like for 3 and 4. I'll be picking this up, but I really wish there was a Switch port so I could also play portably. I got used to it with 3 on PSP and 4 on Vita. Gotta love this chill theme.

just keep in mind that these enchanced versions may not actually be better than the original ones, some people think the heaps of new content take away from the original's pacing.. but it's up to you i guess

As someone who somewhat recently got a Vita and got acquainted to P4 and P3P that way, I completely understand the need for portability. Persona (at least the most recent ones) is the kind of series you can put away and want to play anywhere, and roaming through these dungeons feels all the more satisfying that you can do it from the comfort of your bed on a lazy Sunday morning :D Now, I don't know whether a Switch port would be realistic from a technical standpoint, but that'd definitely be pretty neat if it happens. (also: thank you for your work! Going onto your channel and listening to this track is the only P5R spoiler I'll allow myself for now. :D)

@Torres-Kun ima be honest i did 2 100% runs of persona 5 and i find royal better so far original is good but you could tell some things were off towards the end of the original like the final boss didn't feel like the final boss.

Cody Franczak Yeah, I’m in love with P5R, it’s so much better. Only thing I love about vanilla is the main menu and main menu theme, ambush theme, and opening cinematic. Other than that, P5R is soooooo good, loved it!

Debatable... I would say Yusuke's VA, Futaba's VA, Iwai's VA and Komoshida's VA fits their characters in english. But yeah. Maruki's english VA fits him really well.

It sounds so much like certain pieces from Night in the Woods. The beat is definitely P5 but the a lot of the instrumentation sounds almost the same. And considering Night in the Woods themes, I think that's perfect. I doubt it was intentional but if it was it was a great choice.

God Marukis palace was so hard to go through.... I actually truly believed in his ideals. He had no ill will towards the masses his grudge was against the world. He wasn’t trying to enslave anyone... just give them what they most desired. The “good” ending brought me to tears. -Futaba with her mom and going to Shujin -Morgana being human and going out with Ann who got reunited with Shiho -Ryuji with his team winning the track meet -Makoto with her sister and father -Yusuke becoming a famous artist -Haru living a normal life with her dad -Sumire(Kasumi) winning the gymnastics tournament. -Joker and Akechi being rivals. It’s the ending they all deserved after all they went through.... but it’s still fake. And that’s not what they’re about

When I’m first listening to this it sounds calming and relaxing. It’s almost as if Maruki is patting me on the back telling me it’s all going to be okay and that this is a place where I can relax and eat snacks. Spoilers: When I listen to this after his palace, it’s as if this theme is a whole new song. The formerly relaxing theme sounds ominous and detached, just like the purely happy world Maruki wants to create. This song makes me feel like I’m being put in a sterile environment with no free will, just as Maruki intends.

Persona 5 is a master piece in my opinion. Of course this game is not for everyone and all pieces of work will have its critics but what makes it a master piece is not the approval of everyone but the amount of appreciation that one gives upon being able to finish and reflect on how it has moved them. This game can really change your perspective on life and give it some meaning as well as motivate. That in my opinion is what makes its a master piece.

@Joost Heynickx He did compose the majority of the soundtrack. But a small number of them, such as this one, were composed by Toshiki Konishi. It's listen in the Megaten wiki, but I don't know where the original proof was. I know there's an interview that corroborates that Meguro and Konishi were the main two composers.

SPOILER WARNING . . . . . . I just got to the final palace, and I KNEW he was giving off villain vibes! My first clue was in his theme - it starts out with a funky, chilled out vibe, but then at 1:20 it's like "something's off about this guy".

FalconPan I personally don’t get the same vibes you do, and Maruki isn’t a true villain I’d say. He’s definitely a good antagonist, but his actions don’t come across as evil - he really just wants to help people, which is what birthed his palace and his distorted desires to create an entirely new reality for everyone.

@Cloud Aggro I haven't finished the game yet, so I don't know exactly how everything geos down, but he honestly just seems very sensitive to me. When he was talking about the pain of a broken heart, and asking us whether we thought that was a good thing or necessary... I kinda knew where he was coming from. I think that overcoming pain can help us become stronger as people, but at the same time I don't think we should seek out difficult situations deliberately. When he says he feels that pain might be better off avoided, I dunno. I don't agree with his conclusions, but there's a part of me that relates to him. So it's difficult for me to see him in a negative light. I guess for that reason he makes a good antagonist. He feels believable, at least.

This theme perfectly fits Maruki, his clumsy nature in the background and his willingness to help is slightly more focused on. Such a well written song for a well written character

I actually thought that Maruki was relatable because I'm like him. I get what he wants to do because it's something that I want to do. The difference between us is that I want to inspire others and wake them up, while he wants to control and delude. He thought that he had to carry a torch for others, when the real thing he should be doing is being the torch i.e. living by example. If we want an ideal reality, we just need better role models.

Yeah this is a nice chill jam. P5 was a good fun romp with some great story beats though fusing Personas didn't have the tremendous intrigue to me as it did in 3 or 4, I enjoyed my time with 5 and would play again.

Sup Supradarky. Back when I was in college, now over 10 years ago, I ran a radio show at my college independent radio station. On the show, I played video game music exclusively. I'd play them off my iPod, or CDs, rarely on vinyl, and sometimes straight off of youtube. That's when I discovered your channel, and I used it a lot to help me discover tunes and soundtracks I never listened to before. That show was a blast to run. I did it for 5 years. And to see you still today sharing your great taste in VGM puts a smile on my face. Keep it up, and thanks for everything.

@SupraDarky I know what you mean - there's something special about sharing the awesomeness of VGM! The only reason I stopped doing the show was because I had to move away for awhile. However I have kept collecting video game vinyl records over the years. I finally had the idea this year to do some chill music streams once in awhile, just letting the records play. It's been fun it its own way. Anyway, I hope you always keep your motivation to continue with the consistent uploads here. Even though I've been sort of an aficionado for a long time, you still introduce me to great stuff I've never heard, both new and old, regularly. In fact one my favorite things about your channel is you change it up all the time. You don't just upload a bunch of tracks from the same game at the same time. Thanks again!
