It may not get a remaster but Ron hacks have made it more balanced and there is one to return it to the original Japanese version which was easier
People talk about Dark Souls and Bloodborne being hard, but we here all know what this game really was about.
As a kid, I hunted high and low for this game after my local Blockbuster lost its only copy. I finally found one, but the guy at the store told me that the game could no longer save. In the 90's, it wasn't really common knowledge that the battery needed to be replaced on these games to allow them to hold saves. Ignorant of this, and with no other options, I bought the game for $9 and took it home. For the next 3 weeks, I played this game without turning my SNES off. It was one of the best and worst experiences of my young life. If you've ever played this game, you know how long it is and how much grinding you have to do because of the hyper-inflated difficulty of the US version. I remember the ending really pissing me off, haha. Still love it.

One of the toughest games from my childhood.
Ohhh... This music was I searched it because I hear first music on first anniversary video.
This game had an alluring mystique to it, but the grinding for exp was horrible. The plot twist at the end was nice too.
What a brutal game... The music and the characters were fun to play as. I always picked Esuna and took Valsu or the robot (Lux?) with me. Wilma always wanted to kick my butt.
This song makes me miss my SNES. ..it also makes me miss all the time i wasted trying to level up to progress in this game, but i still miss the game.

Yeah, it's a shame they don't make stuff like this anymore. There's a ton of good modern music, but none really with this sort of style and charm.

Interesting, makes me want to give this game a shot.
Frankly, it's the only game where the regular random battles can outright kill you no matter how much you power level.
i love this game because is a good challenge, a lot of friends just give up and dont finish it, toke me like 3 months beat it.

I always loved the part from 0:16 onward because it sounded a bit like an Eastern European folk song.
this game wasn't actually all that great.
Only thing that brought me through this game was my stubborness (and the fast forward + auto A keys). It was really bad in most aspects.
I was never into this Game but the Music was good.

@ultrazeldafan basically this means that at level 10 instead of getting 1-5 hp, you should get 2-6. (note: not exact values, just estimated) It doesn't seem that much like that but here's another example. At level 40 you would still get 1-5 hp, but you should get
@thisbarb Funny thing is, we got the hard version. (which was rare at the time) See why it was so hard was because of this: In the Japanese version, minimum and maximum stat gains went up 1 for every 10 levels. In the US version, this was not the case.
This game is ridiculous. Christ, I don't think I've died as much in an RPG as this game, honestly. An LL challenge in Secret of Mana blindfolded is easier than this game.

@Bolt892 There's one part that you get to that can be considered the "point of no return". In other words, if your level isn't high enough to defeat any of the monsters at that point, you're better off restarting. Trying to avoid spoilers here.

This song doesn't even have a real genre, honestly. It's just really catchy for some reason. As it is, it could almost be played in an elevator. It needs to be redone with real instruments.

At 0:17 the line turns very folksy and quaint...I imagined villagers dancing in the town square during the flower festivals of May.
