Since I changed my expectations for this game, I'm more excited to simply play a new IGAvania. I always thought it looked like a safe by-the-book game from IGA and it seems to be the case from the impressions I've read, but is that really a bad thing? We have plenty of other amazing Metroidvanias now, so I'll choose to see this game as a nice comfort food experience, classic Yamane music included. I'll post my thoughts once I actually play through it!

What are the best Metroidvanias ever made, in your view? (Not counting the games in the actual Metroid and Castlevania franchises, I mean.)

@drunyon214 Hollow Knight is my favorite Metroidvania and Environmental Station Alpha is my favorite pure Metroid-like.

@SupraDarky Hollow Knight is something of another dimension on how good it was. Just hearing City of tears is just amazing. Can't wait for silksong

It's a pretty unique game and mythos they've created here though. It's not Castlevania, but it has that DNA through and through. I also think Hollow Knight was one of the best Metroidvania style games ever made as well.

"Forgotten" Jade.... You're right title: unmemorable melody, but actually pretty smooth to hear. I was hoping for the game's ost to maybe convince me to buy it, but, hey, there are games for everyones down here, so does music. SupraDarky, your music tastes are broad (and often good at my point of view), even when the music doesn't actually fit my hearing, so keep up this good vgm list. Did you tried some Chipzel's musics ? (Super Hexagon, The Crypt of the NecroDancer)

At 0:53 it kicks into a very Nujabes-like feel for about 30 seconds or so. Great.

This is nice but hoping the soundtrack isn't all like this. Prefer the more energetic Castlevania music from the gba and ds ones myself. Hopefully some stuff along the lines of invitation of a crazed moon and castle corridor

Gotta say, it does feel like an Igavania. Most reminds me of Order of Ecclesia though, in terms of how easy new areas can kick your butt. Also, wow, the music is fantastic.

The beginning isn't especially excellent but the song evolves over it's course and becomes a really nice emotionally rich environment imo.

I’m really looking forward to playing this, it looks fun and that glow-up trailer they put out a couple months ago really made it more interesting to me. And this music is incredible as well, I love the flute.
