A game I recently finished and very much enjoyed. Like Faxanadu before it, Xanadu Next is a spin-off in the Dragon Slayer series. It was first released in 2005 but finally made available worldwide on Steam in 2016. Before that, our only option was to play on the... N-Gage. It's actually the first time I ever put that console in my description! The gameplay is very enjoyabe and if you're familiar with the Ys series also from Falcom, then imagine Ys mixed with Diablo's "point and click" gameplay. This is the kind of addicting game that makes you want to do one more thing until it's suddenly way too late at night. This theme is great, gotta love the guitar.

The N-Gage game by the same name is a vastly different game, though, and the music sounded nothing like this. So to be in line with your channel up to this point, you really should have omitted the "N-Gage" in your description. Usually, you only list games and versions that ths specific upload really can be heard in.

@Joey Ford Sure, but that's not the point of SD listing game systems. He always only lists the systems whose versions of a game feature exactly the music track he uploads. And in the case of this vid, he made a mistake with that.

@Burkhart von Klitzing Well look at the original Rayman, SD listed the Jaguar version in the game's uploads, despite the themes are from the PS1 version.

I'm one of the few people that actually owned the original N-Gage and used it as a primary phone as well. To call it a console almost seems like a stretch given how lacklustre the gaming experience for it was.

This game has one of most godlike OST I've ever heard. The last boss' theme, "Evildoer," will blow your mind.

I've been wanting to get this game. Can anyone suggest if I should get this game on Steam or GOG? I mostly use Steam (like 99.9999999999999% of the time), but the GOG version is DRM-free. Not sure which one to get.

It's all about your tolerance to DRM. I bought it on Steam and didn't have any problems. Something good to know, the resolution settings are not accessible inside the game directly but through a settings launcher inside the game's folder.

This game is great, as expected of Falcom. The final dungeon is huge and confusing to navigate, but with every trip you get deeper and closer to the end. It's very satisfying.

Agreed. One thing I forgot to mention is how great the level design is. Its great use of shortcuts reminded me of the Souls series, connecting everything together.

Hey SupraDarky great VGM as always, i just wanted to tell you about a really great soundtrack. The game is called Petz Dogs 2 and yeah i know it sounds like a kids game and yes it is, but the composers did a surprisingly good job even though they didn't have too since it was for kids. Gongoro peak is one of my favorites. Its just a thought :)

I feel like I have heard the main melody somewhere else. That bit from around 0:30 to 0:50 Heck I'd even say that the other song was probably even uploaded on this channel. Just can't quite pinpoint where that melody comes from or sounds super similar to.

Love the Dragon Slayer Series! Spawned so many great games and spin-offs in it's 35 years of existence. Been enjoying the Trails series , but this makes me want to play some Legacy of the wizard or pull out the Turbo Grafix 16 Legend of Heroes!
