I captured this a couple minutes ago directly from my PS4 with the game in Theater mode. What is there to say about Tetris, really? One of the greatest games of all time, now with a fresh coat of paint. It's quite the experience for the mind to be zoning out to the visuals and music while stacking your tetrominos. For someone like me who probably put thousands of hours on various Tetris versions, it makes it even easier to zone out because I don't feel like I have to put much effort to complete the stages even on Hard. I actually bought a PSVR because of this game and while I did enjoy the game with it even more, I do have to say I was not THAT impressed by its implementation. I keep reading that it's a mindblowing experience but that simply wasn't the case for me, it was enjoyable but nothing crazy either. I even thought the graphics took a huge hit inside VR with everything looking very blurry, unlike other VR games I tried. I might be the weird one here. All in all, it will still be my go-to version of Tetris from now on.

Ooh maybe you can help me with something! My mom has been looking for a nice tetris game for some time. She's a bit older and not a gamer, doesn't want anything flashy or complicated, just a simple Tetris game for the cellphone or maybe the computer. Do you know any good versions?

@CinnamonThief I wish I could help you, but unfortunately I've never played Tetris games for the cellphone or computer. I've mostly played the original Gameboy version, the DS version and this one. Sorry!

@SupraDarky Have you wiped your VR a cloth or something? Also have you played Polybius or Rez Infinite with the VR?

It constantly brings itself back and leaves and brings itself back again. They never seem to run out of ideas to reinvent such a simple game.

I bought this game because I knew for a fact that Tetsuya Mizuguchi (Rez, Lumines, Metoes, Child of Eden fame) worked on this game. :D

Do you normally like Tetris too? The music and style of it are good enough to pay for the experience imo. I love Tetris too though...since the DS version :s.

@greenyxi Yes I do, in fact I have both the NES (Nintendo's version) and GameBoy versions of the original Tetris (I also have it on SNES as Tetris & Dr. Mario), Magical Tetris Challege and The New Tetris on N64, Tetris DX on GBC, Tetris Worlds on GBA and GameCube, Tetris Evolution on Xbox 360, Tetris Plus on Sega Saturn, Puyo Puyo Tetris on Nintendo Switch, This game, and a couple Japanese imports such as V-Tetris on Virtual Boy, and Sega Tetris on Dreamcast. I used to have a copy of Tetris DS, but along with several other DS games I had, it was stolen. EDIT: Oh yeah, I also have Tetris Axis on 3DS. :P

@Joey Ford Oh wow, so which is the best, in your opinion? Sad to hear about the stolen games. This isn't a cheap hobby so it's horrible that people do that.

@greenyxi It's really hard to say to be quite honest, but I do have to say that my favorites are the Game Boy version of Tetris (Due to nostalgia. Especially it's catchy soundtrack. lol), The New Tetris, Magical Tetris Challenge, Sega Tetris, Tetris DS, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and Tetris Effect. BTW, I'm only counting the ones that play like your typical Tetris, which means I'm not counting spinoff titles like Tetris Attack on SNES or Tetrisphere on N64, as much as I love those games so much, they don't play like Tetris, so they don't count.

Damn, just checked the price of this... £34.99 for the UK! Okay guys, honestly - is this worth it? I love games like this that have lush visuals and soundtracks, but realistically, this is just Tetris re-skinned. I'll take the plunge if anyone here can genuinely recommend it.

I want to play this so badddd, but it'd probably be one of the very few games I'd play on the PS4 (and that's so expensive where I live) :(((

This game felt like it came out of nowhere, but I think it's totally deserving of the praise. Would have liked to try it if it was on Steam, but it's probably a good fit for PS VR. I think the visuals and music like what's shown here really capture the feeling of intense focus people got from the original games. I noticed that the first half of this track reminds me a LOT of the second movement of Storm by Godspeed You Black Emperor.
