I've always been a bigger fan of the 8-bit Mega Man games (well, including 9 & 10) for their graphics and music, so I have to admit I was disappointed when MM11 turned out to be 2.5D. As much as some games do it well, I feel like a lot of 2.5D games are lifeless and feel cheap looking, and it's also why something like the upcoming Bloodstained is nowhere near as attractive to me as fully 2D Metroidvanias. Still, I did hear good things about MM11. For those who played it, what did you think?

I'm a huge Megaman fan but unlike you I welcome the change in graphics. I loved the graphics in 8 and was ok with the retro look of 9 but felt they needed an update with 10. With that I gotta say I love this game i preordered the Amibo edition and have zero regrets. Hell after listening to this I feel like taking my Switch to my thanksgiving party, but I suppose I should socialize instead lol. Cheers mate!

I'm sad Bloodstained is not going to be sprite-based. But god damn, I couldn't stand another MM that was 8 bit. Just stop, too many 8 bit games lately.

The game feels so much like the 8-bit titles, you can scarcely tell the difference. Even if you hate everything between 6 and 9, you'll find plenty to enjoy about 11.

it gets more right than wrong, but only barely. I love the look and feel, but there are parts of the stage design that are just crap, and I hate the gear additions. It's also the worst MM soundtrack by far.

I'm with you. I would have preferred a hand drawn animated look similar to the new Monster Boy game if they wanted to change it up. I'll still pick it up once it hits the right price.

Its great but a bit easy. 2.5D platformers are still mostly great games and I think look good too, like Mega Man 11 and also Kirby Planet Robobot.

I don't understand why they don't do a more "cell shaded" art style with the art style instead of the cheap looking phone remake graphics. Sticking to a semi realistic style never looks right. I also don't think Bloodstained looks all that good either.

i come from the same opionion b4 playing it, but i changed my mind about it - i think all the graphical and specially gameplay changes are welldone, the gameplay flow much better with weapon quick swapping also the gear system is pretty neat... only thing what is overall better in the 8bit titles is the music -- fuseman is one of the better tracks though

They did a really good job. The game basically looks like the classic character designs the 8bit games are based on came alive. The game plays just as snappy and responsive as it should.

One of the best Mega Man games ever. The dual gear system feels amazing once you get how to abuse it and right stick weapon selection+button mapping options for sliding (which feels great) and rush means you never have to pause to interrupt the game except to heal with E-tanks. Robot master fights are more engaging than ever since they all have desperation phases that make buster onlying them a ton of fun. Definitely get it.

honestly this game pissed me off with how they went halfway with so much of its structure and presentation: - only 1 wily stage track for all 4 wily stages, splitting up the boss gauntlet and wily machine into 2 separate stages (keep in mind that every classic MM game that only has the castle i.e. no cossack, no mr. x, etc. has the boss gauntlet and wily machine in the same stage, the exception to this is MM2 but this was before this tradition was set) - the last 2 wily stages barely being anything at all (seriously wtf was wily 4?) - the backgrounds to many stages being really underwhelming (bounce man's stage in particular looks really bad despite being one of the better stages gameplay-wise lol) - many of the animations for mega man and other enemies being pretty underwhelming, especially mega man's run cycle - and most of all the stages really overstayed their welcome pacing-wise even the small details like not freezing in place when entering boss doors and the small delay in turning the other direction (among quite a few other things) were annoying, but thats minor stuff. overall if youre a diehard fan i guess you could get it on sale but im gonna stick to the older games, even romhacks as theres a few that blow this game out of the water lol

The piano arrangements are marginally better but wasn’t a fan of this soundtrack in general.

A lot of people seem to diss MM11's soundtrack because it took a different approach with its instrumentation. It's definitely not the best MM soundtrack, but it still has some good songs. My favorites are Fuse Man, Acid Man and the MM11 Title Theme.

I find this game was extremely lacking in the soundtrack department. Just very bland synth sounds. No real vibe or theme other than "haha cool techno".

@Roboguy I wsas being sarcastic. 8 bit themes have a harder time conveying a specific vibe other than "it's 8 bit". I love the techno vibe in this game, it's very unique.
