So I missed out on a game sounding like this? Europe didn't get this game... we did get 1 and 2 though. This is probably when Squenix started to be Squenix and not SquareEnix. That said... I'm off getting this rom! Grandia 3, you will NOT escape me!
FinalHype I'm from Europe too, i imported the game when it wad released in U.S.A, a big Grandia fan here.
At about 0:25 I was convinced I was listening to a Mario Galaxy remix or somethin, then immediately recognized that it absolutely was not that.
This is too much for the feels :( I miss these games really I wish they bring Grandia series to PS4 or PS3 as an HD collection or Classic T_T

Niklas Vedberg Prequel to Grandia 3 is the sequel to Grandia. Grandia 2 is just so badass it doesn't need the publicity.

You know what I miss, games like these. No, I'm not talking about the other great games I over looked because of the games, I'm talking about companies that make these great games going bad and not producing games like these anymore. I wish Square Enix and EA stops being a jackoff and starts creating decent games again. Hell, I am going to have them going through discipline, force them to play Final Fantasy IX, Grandia, and Super Mario RPG. Then I would evaluate how they are, then fire all the people who believe these games suck, and then those who agree that the game is good, I would retrain them about the aspects of them being a good game. Maybe that would shake up the industry and we get more gems like these. Oh, and yea. Gems like these WITHOUT disposable microtransactions, on-disc DLC, and online passes.
Believe me, these old games do not suck. Heck, My middle brother is asking me if he could borrow my Grandia 2 game.
+JDonahue79 sir, may i recommend Bravely Default. it was made by Square Enix in 2013. it has no DLC (at least none that i know of, and even if there was it's just costumes) it has a very unique battle system and a rocking soundtrack and a well balanced job system too.

Battle System and Music Grandia Xtreme and 3 were that for me and Voice Acting too-I personally liked it- Still have to check Grandia I and II

Where the outstanding games are? Hidden in obscurity in the video game history, just like the rare gems should be to not get spoiled. Never heared of this game, but this music makes me feel this way.

@Azuresan Action RPG's aren't a good subsitution for a good old fashioned RPG as for Dragon Quest IX I missed that one.Probably because SE pushed FF more than any other game.They're still trying to release other FF games.Squaresoft back then was more diverse than SE.In closing I played 2 Kingdom Hearts games and they were good but Grandia3...I personally loved that game more than the KH games.However I also loved DQ8.which was my 1st DQ game.I always did want another one.
@179107199999 FFXIII isn't the only game they've done recently, you know. The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, Dragon Quest IX and such wipe the floor with Grandia 3.
I never knew this was a SquareEnix game.This was my 1st Grandia.It took my about an hour to beat that last boss.Ulf was my hero.God....SquareEnix sucks now.this was better than FF13

Grandia 2 is the best Rpg game I have ever played. I tried other Rpg games but nothing excited me more than when I played Grandia 2. It's also the reason I don't play FF but hey that's just me.

Yet another series I've wanted to check out for a long time. I just have so many games I want to play that there's games I've been meaning to get for ever, and still haven't gone about doing so.

@swordfish1390 ... OMG! Grandia 2 is FANTASTIC! My favorite of the series closely followed by the original! If you love turn based RPGs with interactive combat systems(All the Grandias thus far) then it's a game for you!

Grandia 3 over Grand 2? Any freaking time. Grandia 3 = Better ending, better music, better battle, more evil/emo final boss, Brother complex, more challenging and very easy at the same time everything is in there. =P

Grandia One was such much better than 3..One was extremely charming..while three was incredibly corny.
I finished this game once. I hated it so much. But the musics were awesome, at least. It was too cliché'd and the characters were darn annoying, falling all over the archtypes that you just don't want to see these days. But I guess Japan really likes 'em for a reason...

Why do all VG OST's have such terrible guitar tones? I mean, the rest of it is great, but the guitar is always my least favorite part in these these upbeat, rockin' battle themes.

@SargentToughie Noriyuki Iwadare did compose one song for the X series. Wind Crowrang's stage from MegaMan X7. You can definitely tell. :D
awesome song, one of the best battle system in my opinion, so bad the story wasnt good and character customization is almost inexistant... (c'mon, ALL game weapons having the same graphics IS frustrating)
Best Battle theme of the entire series IMO....just so good. I love that guitar track from G2 before you cross the Grancliffs the second time though (pre-Ryudo's hometown) 44 seconds (little synth-lead jamout) is just awesome.
Just about all of grandia 3 had an incredible soundtrack. I'd go so far as to compare it to the likes of the Megaman X series (legendary if only for their VGM)

True story. 2 had a good storyline for most of the game, but i enjoyed plaaying the first 1 more.

Everything was laughable about this game except for the battle system. Once I beat it I took it back, and I never do that to obscure RPGs.
1 definitely had the baddest baddasses. They had to earn becoming the chosen one!

These games are all about the battle system. And it rocks.
Of the 3 Grandias, 2 was actually my favorite. The story was more involved.
Great collection. Aside from that, I wanted to thank you for not prepending or sandwiching the music between other short audio clips to id yourself. The little animation on the game art's a nice touch.
3 was aight, imo. Mad fun to play, all Grandia's are. Graphics were good too. Im not a graphics person at all (Doesnt make a game good, makes a good game better). But what really drove me up the wall was the textbook story. Ironically, im not much of a story person, but it was sooo predictable it was painful. :|

Really? It seems a bit up-beat and happy to me for boss battle material. Except for maybe that portion at 0:43-0:53 or 1:06-1:18. At least, that's my opinion.

The boss theme has more electric guitar in it. It's called "A HOT CRASH!!" (Yes, it's supposed to be in caps like that XD)
Another game that I've never played, along with Grandia II despite me loving the first one.
Yup, this is one of the five songs on the playlist I made for myself :D The battle theme changes throughout the game, and my fave would have to be "What Do You Fight For?"
