Glad you brought up another track from this game. I remember you loved the game, but as time passed it slipped my mind. Good little reminder I should play it myself.

Reminds me of Secret of the Forest from Chrono Trigger. Both use suspended arpeggios as their main motif.

This is still my favorite pure Metroid-like. I never had a problem with its simplistic pixel graphics, but if you're a fan of Metroid and have not tried this game because of that, I absolutely recommend still giving it a shot. The world design, the gameplay and the music are top notch, and the post-game content ends up going in such a deep and dark place that I still think about it. This theme is quite haunting.

I found out about this game through your Best VGMs, and it became my favorite pure Metroid-like as well. It's big, enchanting, challenging, satisfying. Such a good experience.

I would love to play the post game content but I could never beat that damn instant death obstacle course you had to dash thru. I spent so much time on it to no avail.
