I'll be playing Mega Man 11 for sure, but I'm really curious as to why Capcom has not been releasing new games in the MMX series after all this time. I would love for them to alternate between the main series and the X one since they both have their style and strengths.

SupraDarky Well.......... The most recent X games haven’t done so well. (X6, X7, X8.) But with the X legacy collection out, at least they still acknowledge the X games. I’d love to see a new one. Also I love Gravity Beetle’s theme. It has a great Megaman 7y vibe to it if that makes sense.

Canonically, X8 is the last in the series. Granted, that’s what X5 was supposed to be until Capcom demanded more... which led to X6 and X7. The less said about them, the better.

They made the Zero and ZX series, which were both very much like the X series. Unfortunately, the ZX games didn't do super well, and that's when they basically killed Mega Man for a while.

I played Megaman X3 on PSX, I love how the SNES sounds in general and I was really hyped to hear the Original Soundtrack of this game on the SNES in that time. Unfortunately I was sadly dissapointed and I prefer by far the CD versions of the Soundtrack. Sincerely I'm happy you put this version.

There is something about the SNES soundchip that is instantly recognizable. Like this would fit in the Power Rangers SNES game so well, or I'm sure there are others.

I do like X3’s music (especially this track), but it’s very one-dimensional. Hope you like midi guitars on almost every track!

Considering how Neon Tiger’s stage is a rip-off... er; directly inspired by “My Michelle” by Guns N’ Roses, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s intentional.

Neat trivia: MMX3's composer, Kinuyo Yamashita, was also the composer for the original Castlevania!

I can totally see that! All the staccato, the ripping melodies, and the upbeat rock-type music, albeit I'm unfamiliar with the rest of X3's sound track if anyone could point out other great hits from it I would love to dive deeper.

The Intro Stage from MMX3 is widely acknowledged as the best song in the game (it's definitely the one with the most remixes); it's crazy that it's not on this list yet. IMO, it's one of the 10 best songs on the SNES. Gravity Beetle is also great, as are Crush Crawfish, Doppler Stage 1, and Zero's Theme.
