Well, I might have to give up on ever getting an English translation for this game. It's too bad really, it's a cult classic in Japan and with people having played it saying it's one of the best games ever made, I feel like I'm really missing a unique experience. The soundtrack is huge and mighty impressive. I especially like the change-up in this theme at 1:30. You just know that an RPG that has a theme like this while you walk around some woods must be quite special.

I know last year, or two years ago they said they were very very close to being done fan translating the game. Then no news... ever. I wonder what happened.

And the last time we got an update was ten months ago. Apparently from this other thread, https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=13260.0 , the translation's been in the works for seven years now, and it's all being done by one guy. Esperknight just released a new translation in late January this year for a different game, Megami Tensei on NES, so maybe he's focusing on Moon Remix's translation now. Don't give up yet!

Waiting over 5 years for a translation now - I could've learned basic Japanese in that time :p I wouldn't mind getting some of those JRPGs localised by crowdfunding. Somebody's gotta do it, man.

and we have recent offical english translated games from some of the creators (Million Onion Hotel, Dandy Dungeon, Makai Picnic), and translated remakes of games ala Suda 51's The Silver Case!

@Jirt Thanks for the update! I just hope Esperknight a. takes care of themself well enough that they can continue working on it and b. has someone they're sharing it with in the event something happens to them.

The music system in this game is interesting, you buy CDs from a store and can have it loop in the background... the OST is a collaboration of many artists from the time of the game's release. I was a little disappointed because I expected it to play in a certain area, but it's still a cool song. As for the game itself, it's quite unique but a little obtuse to progress through - think of it as having point and click like puzzles, but there's an element of time and day of the week to whether the correct interaction is available at times.

I've been looking forward to the fan translation for a couple of years now. As someone already pointed out, it's still in progress although it takes a lot of time.

More people need to know about this game. Perhaps we should let did you know gaming region lock know about this game and have them talk about it. That way, interest for an english translation may spark.

i've been dying to play this game ever since I first read about it (6-7 years ago?)...as a video game enthusiast, this looks so special that I also feel I'm missing out on something really unique.
