Sometimes when I check out some of my previous uploads, I come across comments I made that make me feel old. I was thinking about how I feel some nostalgia with this game, only to read my comment on the #735 video mentioning I was currently playing and enjoying it. Time sure flies! And now with DQXI being officially announced in the West, I have a new Dragon Quest game to be excited about.
SupraDarky I hope they change their minds and still release the 3DS port for all of us to enjoy.

Say what you want about Koichi Sugiyama as a person, but he's an absolute master when it comes to composing music. The Dragon Quest games wouldn't be what they are without him.
Still have all the dlc quests for the game but some quests are almost impossible to complete without online and other people's grottos

I've played every DQ since 4 and sadly when this came out I absolutely hated it. To me, and my friend, it was complete trash. Looking forward to 11! :)

this song is so cozy. i remember falling asleep on my ds once or twice while running around the world map late at night. 9 is the only DQ ive put a lot of time into, which is a problem i need to fix.
This game was my first JRPG apart from Pokemon that got me into the genre. Without it I would of never played games like Mother 3 and Chrono Trigger
I consider IX to be the beginning of Sugiyama’s DQ decline but this and the angel land theme are definitely highlights.
I need to go back and play this again, since I got really far but never actually finished it. I love the Dragon Quest series, but I think DQ8 is my favourite. Although still haven't played anything before 7; hopefully they'll remaster or port them to newer consoles at some point. At any rate, great series with great music. Things always feel familiar from game to game, but they somehow manage to strike a wonderful balance between nostalgic and fresh & exciting.
I remember this game fondly due to the fact that there were record high summers in my area and this game came out around that time. Remembering the days that I was sweating like crazy, three fans pointed at me while I had cold drinks playing this game on a lazy afternoon.
Gasp! Another Dragon Quest IX song!? I’ve waited so many years for this moment. This is my favorite game of all time. I can’t wait to play Dragon Quest XI when it eventually comes to the Switch.
