I'm far from the biggest fan of Walking Simulators, but from time to time comes great ones like Edith Finch. This is quite easily my favorite one so far. The atmosphere surrounding the Finch family's now abandoned house is top notch, and the length of the game is perfect. However, it's really how the story is intertwined with the gameplay that makes it stand out. Learning about each family member's story through a unique gameplay element was such a great idea to prevent the game from feeling stale, which is often what happens in this genre (at least for me). Some of these little stories were highly memorable (the bath, the fishery...), and to me much more interesting than the overarching story itself. A perfect game for one sitting.
Hey, just a passerby, I'm not sure if you accept recommendations, but you should check out a game called Monaco Grand Prix 2 Racing Simulation. I mean, don't play it, please don't play it for gods sakes, the game is terrible, but the soundtrack is by far my favorite soundtrack in all of games, I recommend you listen to the Argentina track first if you take my recommendation into consideration.
You know, besides one of the obvious five games that will certainly be on your list (Persona 5, Nier Automata, Cuphead, Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey), I really want A Hat in Time to be featured. Such a great game, it was actually my Number 2 game for this year.

I actually played this game. It doesn't feel entirely realized to me like I dunno I feel like some of the stories were too short, but overall it was a memorable enough experience. I don't regret the purchase one bit.
