This track is the whole OST for the Virtual Boy version, and it sounds even better there if you can believe it. I'm glad there's a version I can listen to. I hope to play the SNES game someday. Haven't gotten to because it's PAL only. Hopefully gonna mod my SNES classic to include it soon. I love the film.

IF this were played by actual instruments, i could see it being something like typical tv show in the 80's and 90's soundtrack that used a mix of smooth Jazz, R&b and instrumental rock. Examples that come into mind is "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" by Jeff Beck, "California dreams" tv show when they cut-away for a Commercial break, or Rysher Entertainment Logo (1989-1993), I'm sure other better examples out there.

Have you ever heard the Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets soundtrack? A questionably good game (I think it's an okay Zelda clone when it isn't broken) but it's perhaps Soule's greatest work ever, with the Diagon Alley theme (the PC vs. Console vs. of course Handheld versions are all different, with even the mostly same console versions having minor changes, the GBA game being so bad a game reviewer called The Completionist says it'll be the last game he reviews) is one of the most melancholy and beautifully nostalgiac songs I've ever heard, and on PC it's the menu theme, though I feel being able to return to a song like that that evokes feelings of longing for the past at any point diminishes it somewhat. Still, you have superb taste as always. This is good shit.

I don't think I can ever get tired of Dean's smooth music and his guitar riffs. Even this short map theme stands out. I still think Diving is one of the best video game tracks ever.
