Satan The Arbiter That's very subjective. I for example LOVE Persona 3 and DESPISE Persona 4 with a vengeance. The only good thing Persona 4 has going for me is it's combat, but just barely.
@Jouhei Kirisagi I think I understand why you dislike it. It's because it's here when the series shifted away from Megami and Shin Megami Tensei. And I agree. However I do like Persona 3, it still had some proper Tensei themes in it, although only a few. For example you actually fought your enemies for real. Everything changed in Persona 4 where you could only fight in the imaginary world.

I do want to play this game. Another one I haven't had the chance to play. This track just sounds incredible, amps you up.
I recommend the PSP version. If I'm not mistaken, it got rid of the auto-battle system fror the allies, which was frustrating as heck in the original (and is the reason why I never played it more then once).

@CaptainThunderWolf i blame myself for giving my immune-suppressed father the pneumonia that killed him. i get the humanity of wanting someone back you feel responsible for killing. but having that person who takes that attitude in the answer be yukari is wrong. her whole S-link is about that attitude being wrong; that wallowing in self-pity is the reason her relationship with her mother fell apart; and that she does not want to be that person. if anything the person most likely to take her attitude is Kirijo. she has lost so much to the dark hour, (Shinjiro, her father, now P3MC) that yukari's reaction would be more understandable. plus her S-link was about acting in her self-interests more than whats good for other people. which would fit her support for bringing P3MC a lot more than Canon Answer

+Nidav3 it is if you train in monad and get like lvl 99. my first time fighting nyx my characters were around lvl 60....and let me tell you, it was one of the most intese fights i ever had.
Nah just some Buffs and debuffs. Then again I played the Portable version of this game.
I was at 76 when I fought Nyx and she was a total pushover. I just had Odin spam Thunder Reign until Nyx switched to something that nulled Zio, and just switched to using Primal Force. Then I just used Armageddon on Nyx's final form (Death) to avoid all the bullshit with Moonless Gown and Night Queen.
makes me want to replay FES again.. i'm rather bored currently, so i might do just that.

The battle for everyone's soul is a remix of the poem for everyone's soul, which is an extension for the velvet room them thing. In other words, yes, it does appear (part of it) in Persona 4.
You're probably thinking of The Almighty (Ameno-sagiri's battle theme). It's a remix of The Battle For Everybody's Souls.

yeah but fighting death (and even killing it -_-) has become rather common in VG's. persona 3 actually did it right and made Death something you literally cannot defeat in a battle. no matter how powerful you are.

So THIS is where I'd heard it before! I thought "Aria of the Soul" in Persona 1 sounded familiar! It's a really cool theme, and I'm glad they use it in different forms through-out the series.

Well good news is if you keep your eye out a psp 2000/3000 can easily be had for anywhere from $30 to $100 dollars. If you dont want a rare color your chances of getting one dirt cheap are pretty good. However once you've used a ps vita the amazing psp screen seems bland compared to the perfect of the oled of the vita.

You can pick up personal 3 portable for psp, psp go and ps vita. I dont know if they've made persona 3 FES or any of the ps2 versions available however. Think only the portable version which I think personally sucks.

Its becoming vastly more easy now. Any modern $500ish hand built pc is enough to run pc games. Its laptops that will cost you a ton cause only gaming laptops have enough gpu power where as cpu power isnt whats limiting anything anymore.

Gives me chills every time--especially the part where the Velvet Room theme comes in. Ooooh, real goosebumps there. THAT is how you bring a simple theme back to play in a bigger arrangement, ladies and gentlemen!
After replaying this I have to say, this game to me may just be the greatest RPG ever created, if not just for the emotion of the story.

When I was playing this game and got to this battle.. and heard the music playing.. i had to litterally turn my speakers up... I never have heard a song so epic for a Final Boss in my fucking life, and it fit every emotion that you were thinking all at once. But more then anything.. once you heard this song, you KNEW that shit just got real. And that you were not only staring death in the face, but you were fighting against it.

DDS and persona 4 are great games and i suggest both oh and to those how are interested in DDS there is a way to 1 man the final boss it just takes a little farming for certain stat boosting items. Still way hard though oh and duh great song :P
@metalmayhem007 I was thinking about getting Digital Devil Saga soon myself! I've heard alot of great things about them, so I say go for it! Also, there is a PSP remake of Persona 2 Innocent Sin coming out in Japan soon and I've heard it's a great game(I've never played it ^^). Hopefully it will come out in US and Europe later this year. Ah well, beat Nyx's ass, and get started with P4! It's my favourite PS2 game :D

@RPGMusicStudios Sorry to be such a ass about this but I believe its underating the game by calling the The Extra story a extra quest. It is all in all a epiloge or even a sequal, but by no means just a "extra" quest. It gives you a sense of understanding of what happened to the characters if you were really into the story, so hearing it being called jut a quest irks me, but I mean no offence to you.
@darkrose834 the question answers it's self....think about it, have you ever seen some one in a game show or book ( read if book) shoot their selfs to summon something? It's so original, and keeps that dark mood to the game which makes it all the more greater overall.

Actually, it's called Shin Megami Tensei Imagine. Shin Megami Tensei (Megaten in short) is the series that all these games come from. The series has been around since the 8 bit era.
i love the velvet room theme thrown in as well it makes this extremly long fight a real pleasure :)

I tried to summon my persona and all I got was this lousy bag of stale marshmallows.
I remember this very well. He charmed my Yukari with his stupid spell and full cured himself... that was when I challenged him at a low level and he was about to die. 1 hours worth of health chipping gone to waste. So I leveled up to 80 and wiped the floor with his face!!
If you want the original that included the artbook and P3 OST (NA ver. but the JP was more complete), that's sold out unless you go to your local video game specialty store or ebay since ATLUS never reprints stuff. Otherwise, there's a ton of copies of P3 FES, which is basically the original with extra content, and a sequel which goes from the conclusion of the original game.
KH is overrated too you, its one of my favorite game series.

Actually, they aren't actually shooting themselves. They're actually using gun-like devices known as "Evokers" in order to summon their Personas to protect them. There's no suicide involved.
