This theme gave me a darker feeling while visiting the castles and fortresses, something the sequels heavily lacked.
At least Yoshi's Wooly World tried to recreate that feel.

I just bought this game the other day. As a newcomer to the Yoshi series, I must say this was a welcome surprise! The gameplay, graphics, and of course, music, fit together so perfectly! I'm definitely going to buy any new Yoshi games to come.

Oh my fucking god. I was sitting here at my computer when this song hit me like a truck. I have no idea why I started humming it in my head. For about 2 hours I rattled my brain thinking where the hell I know this song from. It was agonizing. I've had songs stuck in my head before, but this was much different. I kept narrowing it down to a song I know for a fact I heard on an older system, SNES especially. I remember odd sounds that accompanied it as I hummed the music and I couldn't figure out what they were. (Now I know it was when Mario falls off the back of Yoshi and makes crying sounds along with the sharp pitch, alerting that he is in danger.) At first I thought it was Spot goes to Hollywood, I searched but nothing came up that matched. For some reason I thought it was a boat level where the music originated. Then I thought Super Mario brothers 3, Boo's mansion. Once I heard it I remembered what boo's mansion sounded like. For a split second I though it may have been Yoshi's Island, but dismissed it. About half an hour later, no idea why, but I had a strong feeling it was Yoshi's Island. Went to Google, searched Yoshi's Island soundtracks and eventually got here. Jesus, the feeling of finding the source felt like an elephant was lifted off of me. I rarely ever let things like this bug me; I usually just brush it off and forget, but for some reason this persisted. Glad I pursued, now I fee like playing this again. No idea why I felt like typing all this. TL;DR This song got stuck in my head, spent 2 hours trying to figure out were I know it from. Quite the journey.

I was about 5 years old when i went to a hotel 6 with my family, when i first saw the gameboy advance and the game i was confused, but when i saw the boxart and all of the instructions, all of the colorful yoshis. I felt really excited to play it. I remember the EXACT hotel 6 i played it, gotta get a gba and yoshis island soon and play it there again before it inevitably gets torn down.

Why did I never realize the resemblance before?! Also it's not the whole song, just the Violin sound (or whatever it is) starting at 0:11. It's almost the same rhythm as Song of Storms. Funny thing is, I scroll down to come and mention it only to realize everyone's already arguing about it =P

Granted, that was a direct, intentional reference, but still. It HAS happened before. It's certainly not the case here, considering that SMW2 came out way before OoT, but it's happened.

@Jakester12621 Yeah, they did the exact same thing for Wario Land 1. They called it Super Mario Land 3, even though it had nothing to do with Mario Land at all.

Ah jeez, they rehashed the basic chord movement in Zelda's OoT Windmill song. :O (in the beginning). I guess ppl are already talking about this. No doubt its the same, although everything else in this song is different. Song of Storms/Windmill song is a better composition IMO.

well, the concept is completley different. im a musician, and pianist, i say it does NOT sound like song of storms its much more depressing and deeper and terrifying song of storms is fast and sounds much more happy and yes the composer is koji kondo, 1st composer of nintendo and of song of storms and this one idiot
