Such a shame that they dropped the ball on this game. It was insane last summer. Groups of people walking around, gyms trading hands regularly....not the same. Clearly people are still playing it, I do, my gf does....but last summer it was a phenom.
In a world were no evil existed, this game would be fun to play in teams and explore the city at night.
Evil ? Our World is more than a Disney movie, good and evil doesnt exist you know, its not that simple :)
As hated & barebones as it is, this game is probably the closest game where the premise of playing Pokémon. You are the Pokémon trainer, you have to go out to catch Pokémon, and you can fight for a seat on your local Pokémon Gym.
Not a big fan of GO, but it fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine, and I've heard so many positive stories about it changing people's lives for the better. I'm glad it exists. :)
Love the track. Don't plan on playing the game, even though my entire family, including my parents in their 50s, are playing the game. I'm hearing elements of other themes from the games in this, but I can't put my finger on it. Anyone know?

A game I played a whole lot of and still boot up once a day or two. But I never listen to the music so this is new to me oddly enough.

Well I mean it is hard to not talk about the absolute storm and hurricane this mobile game caused back in the summer. For reference, this app was single handily responsible for Nintendo's stock, at one point, to be worth more than Sony's Stock as a collective whole for about a week. Now that's saying something and the impact this game had!
Ahhh... Yelling, "Oh my God! A Zapdos," on a pier and having everyone run to you... Good times...

I don't know why they think Niantic took so long. I mean, they added a whole new 80 Pokémon to catch. Naturally it would take some time.
Well the models and animations already existed - they're the same as the ones from Pokemon X and Y.

I literally entered the game a few minutes ago with the headphones plugged in and thought to myself: "Well, this theme sounds good, I'll look later for it on youtube". Then I found while randomly scrolling on facebook that you had just uploaded it! :D
I tried to get into the hype, but it was apparent the main appeal, even to you SupraDarky, was "going outside to explore and meet fellow pokemon masters". I already went outside and explored, so the added hunt for pokemon didn't get me nearly as jazzed as everyone else.

I was a bit late on the Pokemon Go hype train, but I found to be enjoyable. Back when I was working, I would go out on my breaks and catch a Pokemon or two.
If there's one game that provided me with the most memorable moments in 2016, Pokemon GO would be it. Strictly as a video game, this is of course extremely average in terms of gameplay, but what it made me do outside of the game was amazing. I rediscovered my city in places I hadn't been in a while, I discovered new places I had never been to and I interacted with tons of great people while walking kilometers and kilometers. Really, the first month or two after this game's launch was nothing short of magical. It reminded me of the feeling I get when playing a newly launched MMO with everyone, but in real life. It just felt good to see so many people simply happy to be catching that Pikachu or hatching that 10km egg. It's too bad Niantic took way too long to provide essential updates, but I do see some reinvigorated interest with the recent Gen 2 update. Of course the cold winter time here in Canada doesn't help, I myself having mostly stopped playing because of that. Still, even if I never really play this game seriously again, I'm just glad to have been there and for these great moments. Oh and gotta love this theme's synth bass!

Summer of 2016 was one of the best ever, the amount of new friends I've gained because of this game is incredible. Especially since in the cold white north where I'm from, it's considered "unusual" to interact with stangers if not absolutely necessary. Well, that mindset went straight out of the window because of PoGo. We've had meetings in here that thousands of people participated in, I've been sitting on lures with total strangers (their ages varying between 12 and 70 or so) in the middle of a nightless nights, and it also brought me even closer to my girlfriend whom I shared all it all with. I also have nearly 2500km of walking in my meter since then, my poor knees don't like it but my general fitness does. As a game it's not great, but it does have an eternal place in my heart nevertheless.
same here. It was a great start and I loved the interaction with people. I still fire it up on a daily basis as I walk the dog or travel to a new place. Like my GF and me went to Japan last year and of course we caught Pokemon over there as well. Best meta game of the year ;)
