Jesus Christ, this is horribly mastered. I want to hear a version of this that isn't overly compressed and clipping.
Listen to it in level 1-13. Its a lot better
Jesus chris they compressed the hell out of the soundtrack for this. Clipping everywhere. Makes it almost un-listenable.

Reminds me of the psychedelic setting in Dyad. I suppose you get the most out of this while being under the influence?
This is not music, it is a siren over some drums. Usually like your choices Supra but this is simply not great.

Ooh interesting. Pretty neat and unique beat with a nice feel to it. Also, the game itself is just a wonderful blast to play with its high paced action and reaction stylistic gameplay!

That's actually the first thing I read. The red, white, and slightly blue color scheme didn't help.
This definitely strikes me as something that works much better in the game than outside of it.
You can't truly appreciate Thumper's sound design outside of the game, especially without having experienced it. To me, Thumper is a nearly perfected rhythm game akin to others in the genre like Rez. The menacing, intense and repetitive beats absolutely accentuate the experience and helps you get in a trance I've rarely had while playing a game. And if you want to complete the very fast paced levels, that trance helps you focus and is almost necessary. At some points, I felt like my hands were moving the beetle automatically in the right directions. With each level being quite lengthy, I had to take breaks after each because my brain had enough. While the number of levels and their length are very welcome, I found the variety in gameplay elements and aesthetics to be lacking between each stage. I certainly think a sequel could revisit the concept and expand on its ideas. Overall, while I haven't played that many rythm games, I would certainly put it near the top of my favorites in the genre. I'm looking forward to playing it again with VR,
SupraDarky Thumper was one of the games on my wishlist, and I'm about halfway through so far. I played the 4th level at a friend's house, and he told me he couldn't blink the whole time. This game's sound design is very well made, and the war-drum sound really made finishing a stage in a level satisfying, especially when you execute the timing flawlessly.
Aside from the points you brought up, this version of the soundtrack is super compressed and it just sounds ugly.
