Hell yeah! This game really nailed the aesthetic and that was in no small part due to the outstanding soundtrack.

IMHO Cellular Skies is the best track in this game.
I think the best track in the game is between trace awakens, cellular skies and occlusion lens
Cellular skies wins, hands down.
So difficult to choose a favorite. Much easier to decide my least favorite is occlusion as its pretty all around grating to the ears. Vital Tide, The Axiom, Trace Awakens, and Trace Rising are some highlights for me.

Yes. It's very much a Metroid-inspired game, and one of the best of its kind.
Jay DiNitto Axiom Verge came first, Metroid copied it a few years later.

Google isn't giving any hits on an older axiom verge game. I presume I just got memed/my autism is showing because it's definitely not a thing and that guy was just joking albeit on internet text. Unless the internet police hid the truth about axiom verge to make metroid a more influential intellectual property. I'm glad to still have the possibility to play new but old school games like Axiom Verge, with the vast majority coming from indies. This was easily a top 10 game of 2015 for me despite the couple flaws I listed in the previous upload. I still remember watching the announcement trailer for this game on the Playstation YT channel with this theme playing, it quickly shot the game up my most anticipated list.
