Shortly after I uploaded #1000, I decided this would be the theme I'd go with for #2000 and keep the video pure (well, almost!) and simple. This is THE video game theme and there's no need for words, really. As I said in the previous upload, I also feel like that #1000 video was special and I want to keep it that way. I do however want to use this Comments section to thank all of you for the continued support after all these years and give you each a digital thumbs up for helping me create and evolve such a nice VGM community, we did this together. To you who has been following me since the beginning, for a couple years or even just a couple days. It will soon be 10 years since I started this project, which is honestly mindblowing when you think how old we were then. I still remember how obscure the VGM scene was back then and how I thought nobody would really care about my videos, thinking I was one of those "weird nerdy people who like music from video games". I'm sure glad I was wrong and decided to upload that Wild Arms Town theme. I'm also very glad my lazy self decided to go with an unranked list because frankly, that's what kept me going for all these years: uploading whatever track I feel like, whenever I can, without any pressure, with an awesome community.
You're stupid and this is the wrong choice, I can't believe you-- Wait, no. You're still awesome. Thanks for continuing to bring us your favorites so regularly. Your curated list is always a pleasure to tune into. :)

Well, he uploaded the intro theme for the original Legend of Zelda for it's 25th anniversary, but he hasn't uploaded the overworld theme for that game... maybe it'll be that.
SupraDarky Thank YOU!!! I thought I was weird for loving video game music so much, especially since I hardly play. And I'm a harpist! Thought I'd be alone: finding your channel gave me lots of inspiration. And your uploads often help me figure things out by ear, your videos will be played over and over again as I sit with my harp. Dire, Dire Docks was one of the first pieces I learned to play by ear! So thank you man, I love this channel. ❤️️

Just wanted to say thanks for all of the uploads. I originally found your original first 850 tracks of your list on a torrent, and connected them to this youtube channel. I subscribed thinking that maybe someday you would continue to add more. I was right. I really like your list of tracks and look forward to more. However, my list is incomplete! While there were a few in this list that had just copyright notices on them and I was able to get them elsewhere.. there are a few #s that are totally null+void, and I never got to write it down to add to my library! What were the tracks for: 919, 969, 1177, 1499, and 1706?
From digging around online, it seems like: 919 was "Eschatos - Point of no Return" 969 may have been "R Racing Evolution - Mars Landing" 1177 may have been "Final Fantasy XIV - Goobbue Mount" 1499 may have been "R : Racing Evolution - Liquid Soul" 1706 may have been "Guilty Gear Xrd - Marionette (Elphelt's Theme)"
It took years, but I'm glad I could catch up just in time for #2000. Congratulations! Thank you for this list, and for introducing me and others to so much good music, and even good games (like Shovel Knight, which I discovered through your list).

Supradarky. Video game music is what got me into making music. Tifa's theme of FFVII is what got me playing the piano. Now I play guitar, piano and sing in my own band and perform self written songs. So to me VGM was always something special. I was so happy to find your playlist in 2011. I was delighted not only by the music but also by your comments about the games, especially every 100th game introduction. Every month I was looking forward to listening to a whole set of new songs. And i've listened through all of them. Wrote my favourites on a piece of paper and added them to my own collection. Of which maybe a hundred have a permanent spot on my phone! So thank you for all the effort over the years!

Late to the party but congrats on 2000. I went back in time and saw the first video I liked of yours was #408 "Final Fantasy IX - You're Not Alone!" so I'm assuming I joined you back when you posted it in March 2009. Crazy to think that 8 years has passed since then. Keep up the great work and good luck on the road to 3000.

...You know, I always kind of preferred the original NES iteration of this song. It's such a timeless classic. I mean, it's hard to describe, but it's got this like beat-boxing thing going on with the background instruments in the original 8-bit that's just so damn cool and catchy to listen and nod your head to that in my opinion no remix has ever really captured as properly as this.
After all these years, Super Mario Bros. is outranked by 1999 other songs? Wooooooow.

You were the first channel I subscribed too. Something I'm in fact quite proud of. It's very fun to see your list expand every year. I got to play so many games just because I found their soundtrack to be really good from your channel. For example Skies of Arcadia and opoona. This is the purest video game theme. It packs a lighthearted sound with an adventurous tone. It's a reminder of what a game should be: a fun adventure.
Supra, I think I've been with you since around VGM 100 and I think this might be my first time commenting actually...I just have to let you know how much I love this channel and appreciate you for not only consistently putting out songs every week but a great variety of them. Dragon Warrior & Earthbound were my favorite games as a kid but because of you, I discovered so many gems that I'm positive I would have never checked out. Beyond Good & Evil, Environmental Station Alpha and Undertale to name a few off the top of my head. You have been killing it since VGM 1 and I love the look I get whenever someone asks what my favorite music is...VIDEO GAME MUSIC! This is because of you :)

#3000 would be awesome if it were dedicated to Chrono Trigger since it's your favorite by using one of the few themes you haven't used yet...the main theme! But that's just an idea. For all I know that'll happen even sooner. Still glad I subscribed 10 years ago and glad to continue visiting for every song, songs I already know and discovering games I didn't know of previously.
