Can't wait for Bloodstained! SoTN is one of the BEST games ever made in gaming history.
So far, everything I have seen from Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (concept arts, gameplay footage, etc) looks incredibly promising. I cannot wait for this game and I'm sure it's going to be at least Order of Ecclesia levels of awesome. Also SoTN is one of my favorite PS1 games and probably one of my favorite games overall.

Even if IGA could never really figure out how to translate his 2D greatness to the 3D world, I would lie if I said I didn't have fun with this game. The combat system was entertaining and I remember always being excited to reach the next level just to listen to a new Yamane track. I can't wait to play IGA and Yamane's next collab, Bloodstained. The demo I played was alright, but I felt like it needed a lot more polish and excitement, so I'm actually glad the game got pushed back so they can try to reach their previous 2D Metroidvanias' quality.
This is the game I most played on my ps2 omg, love it, everything about it was great, enemys, itens, song, history... it is a masterpiece that so few know .-. This soundtrack its one of the bests of all...
I really liked Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness, both for completely different reasons. LoI had awesome locations, with great atmosphere and music (Prelude to Dark Abyss for example). The gameplay was fun, but it was very basic and a little bit boring sometimes. Curse of Darkness is the exact opposite. Both the Innocent Devils and the crafting system worked great and were a lot of fun. However when it comes to music and atmosphere (even though I like Baljhet Mountains for example) it pales in comparison to LoI.
I liked LoI for the same reasons you mention, only that I've never found it boring. IMO it was a great 3DVania, Only the Camera's could've used a little more revision, the Combo system was tight and solid, The Action was Fast and the Real Time Menu made things only better. I hated Curse of Darkness, because the Level Design was awful. Some boss fights were great though, But Baljhet Mountains in Particular is the perfect example of what's wrong with the whole game IMO. In general LoI is the better game for me, even the music-wise.
The only real problem this game had was that some maps were way too big and had very little of anything in them, other than that this was a pretty amazing game. (I remember using the Broom weapon and breaking it's combo to traverse the areas faster)
honestly I loved this game back when it came out, the gameplay I thought was fun, the leveling up with familiars ( I think that's what they were called, haven't played it in years) and the atmosphere and of course the AMAZING music, definitely my favorite 3d Castlevania game to this day. I even beat it on CRAZY mode where all the enemies are waaaayyyyyy stronger than they are normally.
