I went into this Galaxy for the first time not knowing it was a remake of a stage in Super Mario 64. About a year later I went on the Super Mario Wiki and found this out. Yup. My mind was blown.
I'm honestly shocked that Supra hadn't added this to the list yet.

I absolutely loved how they put this galaxy in this game. A nostalgic throwback to one of my favorite levels in my favorite Mario game. It made me want a complete Super Mario 64 remake, and I still want it. I'm excited for the next 3D Mario on the NX, I wonder what formula they'll be going with. Speaking of the NX, I knew for quite a while that it wasn't being released this year thanks to a source, so I used the April Fools opportunity to insert it in my comment for the Metroid Prime 4 video. Sneaky!
I really loved this galaxy. It was actually one of my more favorite galaxies from the game. I still think the first game is the better game of the two, but I would say that the music was good in both games.
+Eric C. (slamdunkgators) I totally agree. I really love both of those games, and the first one is one of the only Mario games I've seen my dad really enjoy playing. Neither of us, or my little brother, have ever played Super Mario 64, but I know I loved this galaxy at least (and the music is awesome, too, like you mentioned).
+Nate Jacobson I remember when i first got my Nintendo 64. My first two games for it were Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64. When i was a young kid, I didn't really like Mario 64. As i got older, I realized that Mario 64 was an absolutely brilliant game. It is one of the few games that I replay all the time. The fact that Nintendo was the first to make the transition from 2D to 3D and did it right on the first try is really commendable. The music is really good too. It is one of my favorite soundtracks of all time and the feather in Koji Kondo's cap.

+Eric C. (slamdunkgators) Yeah, even though I never played Super Mario 64, I admire it. Nintendo is something to be admired as a whole, especially recently. I never played a Mario game I really disliked (though the New Super Mario Bros. series was starting to get dull). Even though I never played Super Mario 64, my first video game, SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom for Xbox, took some ideas from it (the 3D platformer, open world and collectibles to unlock new areas, for example) and is one I still play to this day (it's still in perfect condition).

+Eric C. (slamdunkgators) Definitely agree. While I feel SMG 2 added a lot of great things, the original Super Mario Galaxy has a certain charm to it that I can't quite put my finger on.. Not to mention Super Mario Galaxy was the game of my childhood, so I'm kinda nostalgia-biased here.
2018: Looks like the NX turned out to be the Switch. I'd say it delivered.
