DKC 1 & 2 were best on the SNES, but DKC3 was best on the GBA.
I really don't hear Aquatic Ambiance here. And i find this much better than asuatic ambiance. Probably my favourite aquatic level theme along with rayman origins. This song made aquatic levels so enjoyable although they were pretty hard.

I'm reminded of the fact that David Wise wasn't present for DKC3 for the SNES, but he was for this version. So the version on the SNES DIDN'T have music by David Wise, that was THIS version. Let that sink in!

I don't think it is shit as people say. Beside of the portable convenience there're true good sound quality BGMs on GBA. The shitty quality may come from the shitty attitudes from the game producers.

They're not synths, they're actual sampled and pitched whale sounds ( you can open the rom in audacity as a raw file and hear all the compressed samples )

Hm, this sounds nearly exactly like Aquatic Ambience. Well, usually the song remakes that is ported in the GBA versions usually ruin the original that is from the SNES. I rather like the SNES version because its more ambient and more dark. GBA versions have more improved instruments but some originality have been removed. BUT, if someone here makes fusion mixes from the two versions and do it to the entire soundtrack, a video that is not a fan remix, that would be nostalgic I would be ecstatic.

When I played the SNES version of DKC3, I always felt it's soundtrack was lackluster in comparison to those in DKC and DKC2. But when I heard it's "Water World", I was like "Finally! An awesome song!". But then I played the GBA version and heard this version, and it's like "... Wow". The SNES "Water World" doesn't even compare, as good as it was.

David Wise made a good decision making this a completely new soundtrack. I'm almost glad he didn't have the time to port the soundtrack from the SNES version, because this sounds so much better. Actually, I AM glad.

@jddaman1337 Yeah I know. David Wise didn't touch the real DKC3 music, but 3 is the first of the GBA ports he worked on. The first two ports just ported the music over as well, and it sounded terrible compared to the SNES counterparts. That's why I'm glad they decided to remake the music with the GBA's sound processor in mind..

I liked this music track [as well as a few other GBA tracks] but overall, the SNES version is better. Nuts and Bolts SNES > GBA Aquatic Ambiance SNES = GBA Frosty Frolics SNES > GBA I don't know why but this track reminds me of when I stare at a city that's all lit up at night. Maybe it's based on nice music track and nice sight.
dk have the best music i know in a game but the best music ever is in dk country 1(also was awarded in '94-'95) on SNES and period. if you do not belive me then try yourselves just play dk1 first 10 levels

This is a pretty good song, but the music on the GBA version of DKC3 isn't anywhere NEAR as good as that on the SNES game. Absolutely not. The forest music especially, the beautiful atmospheric flute song got turned into a happy bouncy tune.

Wise's redoing of the soundtrack wasn't really to my liking outside of this track and the dock one. Most of the new tracks were fairly mediocre compared to the stuff he did for DKC1-2.

David Wise didn't contribute a lot to the SNES version, however he came back for the GBA version and remade the entire OST. In this song there's a part from SNES DKC's Aquatic Ambience. :P
