Doing my history homework to this... most epic essay I've ever written!
That minotaur fight was so hard for me as it was my first time playing an SMT game. I legit thought that battle was so hard that you were suppose to lose and you just supposed to last long enough until an event triggers... nope. Figured I should just fuse some monsters or find some and beat it, and man was it tough.
Ah, such a cool track! : D The bells and synths somehow take me back to the first Shin Megami Tensei on the SNES... ...speaking of which, might I suggest checking out Shitenou's Lair and Ginza from that game's OST? : )
I didn't really liked this game. I mean I've played for a long, long time, but I never got stuck to it like I was with Devil Survivor. I don't know maybe it was too mystical whereas D.S was more character centered
Yeah mainline is definitely more plot based than character based when it comes to storytelling. not for everyone

other than the mess that was the world map and the difficulty involved in getting the neutral ending, this is one of my favorite games on the 3ds.
+Laughing Man I really liked the world map, actually. I thought it was really cool how you could go through all of Tokyo's districts.
Those bells are really quite something. Not overly fond of the guitar section in the middle, but those bells keep bringing me back.

+Redfoxe Yeah he got me a few times too. Definitely the hardest encounter by that point. You really had to plan out a strategy for that battle.

+Redfoxe I need to revisit this game. I've only barely explored Tokyo itself. But I was gifted this game a couple Christmases ago by my boyfriend and much of the holiday at my family's home was being curled up on the couch, transfixed on the boss music and difficulty of Minotaur and Medusa.
^It honestly gets much easier as it goes on. Difficulty curves really oddly.
I like to imagine the bosses are shouting over the music in order to talk to you.
My personal favorites from the game are Challenge Quest alpha and Camp Ichigaya, this OST is insane !
Yeah I remember this, it was fine. I really like the exploring music or town music more heh fun to hear again though.

Nice! I put this theme in my list as well, and for good reason; it's a really catchy and exciting boss theme. By the way, I believe it's official title is called "Beginning Intact".

I remember Atlus featuring a couple battle themes on their website before the game's release and this one being my favorite. Nice bells! I'm not too sure what to think of the strange SMT x Fire Emblem game which just released in Japan, it seems like it was rated pretty high but for some reason, the game bombed sales-wise. I really thought it would be a big seller for the Wii U.
+SupraDarky I've liked everything I've seen of Genei Ibun Roku so far, it's really weird that it bombed. It honestly looks like an extremely solid jrpg for the Wii U. Maybe it's the style that turned off people.
Maybe it'll do better in America.

+SupraDarky Idols are a pretty Japanese phenomenon, but from what I've seen, it looks a bit like Pokemon/Digimon + Magic Girls (take your pick of which mahou shoujo series) + Uta Prince/Project Diva ^^;;; It looks interesting, but I definitely don't get either a SMT or FE vibe from the game. It's its own animal. This is a great track. I stopped in the middle of SMT4 and I need to get back to it... It's been a while... ^^; SMT I find is one of the hardest games to return to because before you left, you had this carefully crafted team, and then you leave it for like ... a year or two, and you go back and it's like, I have no idea wtf I was doing?! ^^; Thanks for the track/video! Btw, have you heard of Aviary Attorney? It's completely unrelated to either SMT and FE, but I think it has nice tracks and I'm at the beginning and it's currently a delightfully quirky, fun game.

+SupraDarky Nintendo's trying a bunch of new things for the WiiU. Seems to be hit and miss though, I'm looking forward to it though.
+Vdiffuser Intelligent Systems was supposed to help develop it more but they backed out so Atlus was stuck with it and they retooled it. I think since it was promised to be localized at one point it is coming to the United States still. I have an open opinion though I';m not even looking forward to it honestly (I thought it was cancelled at one time) but Gamefaqs seems to hate it. Also I am a huge Gamefaqs user, I just stay away from popular boards or current systems because those are cancer typically (Been that way since the PS3/Xbox 360 era).
+notyoursavior78 I remember hearing all sorts of things about it before it just vanished off the face of the earth and then came back looking a lot different. It's a shame the studio pulled out, and I do hope it makes it over here. Atlus got me with the gameplay and sheer research it does into their mythos, and that they explore places that the States doesn't like to go. I hear you on popularity though. Seems that when something gets popular, a whole bunch of awfulness spreads. It's why I do my best to research what's up and coming before getting it. I'm actually headed into the industry, so paying attention to this stuff a little more closely is a bit more important now for me.
Yeah people just like to argue on those boards it's not really about things being popular. I'm not on the internet to argue it's just to have fun and goof around a bit I guess. So I post on less traveled boards or private boards with people. I love Shin Megami Tensei and Persona etc, but I think what pissed people off is that this crossover game is really just a generic jrpg with a basis on music idols. It's not a strategy game really, and the battle engine seems like a simplified Digital Devil Saga.
+notyoursavior78 Hard to say on that one. There's way too much arguing in the internet. I could sort of see Atlus trying to do that since idols are (still) a big thing there. There's a bunch of disconnection between the US and Japan that I think Atlus doesn't take into account for. Time will tell if that changes though.
