I love this song so much. It's based on Freezekill Village's theme in Tales of Phantasia. I love the resemblance.

I bought the CE of ToS and im playing through it again loving it as usual and it saddens me to hear that this game was killed with DoTNW. I hate the fact they changed most VA. Changed the art style....LOOKS LIKE SHIT! This game killed everything ToS made....so disappointed with Namco....what were they thinking!
Im going to play it again anyways. Maybe ill like it better a second time around. I did that with Gundam 00 Awakening of a Trailblazer, disliked it at first rewatched it a year later and def like it more now. I hope to god thats the same here.
@Harkins1721 DotNW is not as bad as you seem to be indicating. its nowhere near as good as the original, but pretty good in its own right.
@philip0544 Compared to Tos and the at the same time released game Tales of vesperia... it is very bad.... I like emil and richter but it just seems like they rushed tos2 in order to "make the fans happy". One example is the Door Opening "bug"... Just look at Emils left arm when he opens a door... it looks like its going crazy.....
All you have to do is take it on as it's own game and it becomes really fun. DotNW is WAY too easy, even on unknown difficulty mode, but aside from that it's a blast to train and raise your monsters.
So True! But what disappointed me the most in DOTNW is the monsters that are helping you in the battles... I think they were tottally useless ... to evolve them you have to feed them with food. Fighting with these monsters is making me feel like I'm playing Pokemon XD
If one didn't know this played in a snowy town, it might as well could've been an underwater theme.

is it just me who feels rpgs these days should have more than just one snow town? snow towns are so magical, especially at nights, yet there are only one in so many of them (tos, ff7 etc) anyone agree? oh and i fvcking love tales of symphonia and this masterpiece of chillness in the snow, thank you so much tales of symphonia, thank you so much... now to play abyss, legendia, phantasia and so on, wonder which one i should start as i heard the sequel to tos was bad? :o

There's a lot of similarities with this song and Tales of Phantasia snow town theme. This one is definetely the most memorable tought.

@SupraDarky I know it´s 2 years later,,,but I want to add, ToS 2, was a bit disapointing,,, not bad game,,,but does´nt have the feeling of the original,,, I felt like you two years ago,,,now, I want to leave the universe of Symphonia behind,,, for good,,,, a third part like the second should never be made,,,, pliiiiiiiiiiiiis =(

Ah, this is my favorite Tales of Symphonia song.. figures you would recognize it. Another one I liked was the theme that played in this forest dungeon where the ring's ability was to make random boars run into trees and kill themselves...

Cosign! What's funny is that Symphonia is supposedly before Phantasia in terms of the storyline. Now if only the music could do the same...lol. Also of note, Phantasia had 2 snow towns. So is it safe to say that Flanoir expanded to Freezekill and Ary...?

This game was the first Tales of game that I played and I thought every moment of it was awesome. The different ending, events and the characters. They are all my favorites. And this also the one of the best song in this game.

cant wait till tos2...man...problem is i heard that u go by the story that zelos lives...i prefered kratos (as everyone likely did) but i didnt know how to get him instead of zelos until after i beat the game twice when some1 told me =(
No prob. Colette has a special attack too btw. In the Japanese PS2 version every character has a hi-ougi, but they had to cut them out of the english ver. because of the GCN disk capacity or some other reason (they cut out other side-quests, boss battles, and costumes, too!)

P.S. technically you don't need a fire weapon, but you have to have the "Garnet" equipped (Efreet drops it) to make your weapon fire-based.
For R. Phoenix, you need to use R. Falcon 200 times, then equip a fire weapon to use it. Falcon's crest is Lloyd's mystic arte/hi-ougi (these attacks are returning in ToS2!) which needs the following conditions to be met: - you need the Eternal Swordsman title on - have the material blade equipped - Llyod's health has to be in the red zone - then press X, A, B at the same time.
i beat abyssion with me as lloyd and computers as genis,raine and sheena. never poisoned him either but i did get off indignation judgment =p. isnt rising pheonix where u got llyod using a fire wep and using rising falcon after using falcon like 500 times or so? also, how do u pull off falcons crest?
Eh...its a good song, just not my favorite...ive beaten this game start to fiish twice (its a lot easier the second time lol) somehow i managed to avoid being annihilated except in the first kratos and yiggrasiil fights.

Before I figured out that Colette could poison him, I used Lloyd, Presea, Genis, and Raine. I didn't know about the 3 special moves on that playthrough (first) either, so I just went all out on him. lol I haven't played the game for 4-5 years, maybe I should give it another go.
Have you ever tried poisoning Abyssion? It makes the whole thing a lot easier.

Yeah I love this one.
The theme isn't *quite* the same without the actual backdrop, i.e. the snow falling, the actual village setting and all that, which was my favourite place in the game, but it's still a very nice piece.
It was a great game. It started a bit slow when you have to follow the path of the Chosen or even when you have to form all the pacts with the Summon spirits, but the story really picked up afterwards. Most of the characters were likable and the battle system was really fun. The ending left me wanting more. :P Good thing ToS2 is coming out on Wii!

What did you think of it? I personally loved the game. Have you had a look in the GRADE shop yet? You get a few bonuses when you restart the game, you can spend GRADE you got in game on them :P
