Holy shit. Just stumbled into this song. Right when those vocals kicked in, I realized how much nostalgia I have for this track... Chills.
SPOILERS: I love how for the entire game I was looking for an answer to why they took her voice, and then when I finished the game and didn't get an answer, I finally figured out that it was because of this song. the answer was literally in the beggining of the game, you just didn't know it back then.
Overrated game but great Soundtrack
This game was so lackluster, definitely over hyped. Once you learn how to play the game and get a few weapons it becomes nothing more than a choir to kill the rather bland enemies rather than an amazing adventure.
The strangest thing about this song is that it plays at the beginning of the game, but also tells the ending. In its own way, of course.

The soundtrack for this game is gorgeous, I own the CD and it's definitely one of my faves (I've recommended the game to lots of people primarily for the music, though the other aspects of it are beautiful as well). The extended soundtrack is worth a listen too, check it out if you haven't yet!
funny, I just got around to beating this like an hour ago. Can't decide whether it was a good game or not. I feel like there was a lot of missed potential there, but hey, that's just my opinion.

For the ~3 hours I put into this game and beating it, it was well worth to experience it after playing and loving Bastion. I may play it again at some point, but not for quite some time I feel.
Two down, plenty left to go. The question is, when Supra puts in another Transistor song, will it be The Spine, Impossible or Paper Boats? Personally, I listed my preferences in order. I fell in love with The Spine when I first heard it while Impossible is a great "Final Boss" theme. As for Paper Boats, well... that would be going into spoiler territory, wouldn't it?

I tried playing this game after a months-long time gap of not playing it, and this is why deleting save files is bliss. I had a sort of similar problem with Apotheon, except that it was a glitch that prevented you from progressing if you saved once you ascended, after beating the first boss.
I finished this game yesterday. I thought the game was as good as Bastion, which is to say that I liked it but nowhere near as much as the general opinion I've seen on it. The graphics are top notch, the soundtrack is great and the unique setting gets you immersed in it. I found the core gameplay very satisfying once you understand it, but once I felt like I had a lot of tools and started to master different strategies, the game was over. Just like with Bastion, I feel like they developed a great gameplay system but it's never fully realised and fleshed out, hindered in part by the low enemy variety. The story is another aspect I was once again not a big fan of, being told in a way that feels more convoluted than it should be. I respect Greg Kasavin very much, especially when he was a game reviewer, but I just can't seem to connect with his writing in the games he works on. This all seems quite negative, but in the end I did enjoy the ~5 hours I put on it.

+SupraDarky I recommend trying NG+. The enemies ramp up considerably in difficulty, so you have to put these advanced strategies into place - it makes the gameplay a lot more engaging. Of course, that should have been the case for the first playthrough, but I think you'd get along with NG+.
+JayMoyles I also recommend the NG+ option, but to better appreciate the story (and the soundtrack :)) rather than for the gameplay itself. Anyway I share exactly the same feelings as Supra does on this game: solid game, technically and artistically brilliant, yet it falls short in gameplay and the unsual way the story is told.
