Its been four years since I played this game, I keep feeling the same I did the first time I hear soundtrack. A strange but appealing feeling of comfort and unrelated nostalgia for nothing that didn't happen.

YES! Lisa is the way to start a playlist! This is definitely one of my favorite games ever, just because of the story and characters. Something about this game's dark themes and the tragedy that befalls all of its characters really hits home with me. I feel like this game hasn't received as much recognition as I think it deserves, but again that's probably because of the dark subject matter. All in all, an amazing game. Also, whenever I hear this song I feel as if it is saying "Everything is not alright, and is never going to be alright. But you know what? That's OK."
LISA's soundtrack was OK, good even in parts, but the game was pure misery. I mean, at every turn it was deliberate mean or unfair, and if it wasn't a hip "indy" game, people would have slated it. The design of the game deliberate went out of its way to **** the player off, and I got very tired of this after a couple play sessions. If I'm paying money to play I'm going to play something that doesn't consciously despise the player, and try to **** him off so deliberately.
k9wazere It's about how life is unfair and shitty and there's nothing you can do about it except go with the flow. if you want your handheld go play undertale baby boy.
The game is completely fair and reasonable to beat. It gives you real choices though, ones that really matter to the game.
Year old comment, but this game is piss easy to anyone with a brain. Excellent story and music, and to say what you did is a disservice to a work of modern art.

Well, there are parts where you talk to an NPC and they take your entire party down to 1hp. That's in this same area, I think.
@Gerki "Get good" is all very well, but as I played through there were at least 4 separate occasions where the game kept killing off party members off-screen. And by that, I mean outside of playable segments. And these were random events. I could reload and maybe they wouldn't happen that time, but maybe would happen again some time later. That's just one example of how the game would delight in screwing you.

I dunno, Mother 3 is still pretty upbeat and optimistic compared to this. The other guy was just saying it's pretty fucked up politely. Not the worst game grimdark-wise, but pretty damn intense by your average "dark, depressing world" RPG's standards.

I really do wish people would stop comparing Lisa and Undertale. People who like Undertale would have their mind destroyed by Lisa.

I played through this game a couple weeks ago after getting recommendations on Steam and seeing its positive reviews. I had no idea what I was getting into and it took me by complete surprise. Humoristic with some very dark themes, this isn't a happy game (the title should have given me enough of a hint), but it's absolutely a breath of fresh air. The simple graphics are enough to convey details and emotions, while the hybrid gameplay of platforming and turn based RPG provides hours of entertainment. The Earthbound influence is obvious and sometimes I'd be reminded of another indie RPG, OFF. Awesome soundtrack to boot! I'm highly looking forward to playing the sequel/DLC, The Joyful.
