Isn't this is every elder scrolls game just changed up a bit?
Also when they make the ES it should be more than one continent. Just like the dragon born dlc where you get on a ship to travel (or wagon depending on the location)
They need to make another ES in tamriel. After FO4
They are, and it's rumored to be in Black Marsh, home of the Argonians, which is my favorite species in this series.
Doesn't sound quite the same without that rhythmic horse gallop. :P

Absolutely love this soundtrack. Wings of Kynareth is my favorite. TES IV, FF13, Dissidia 012 and FE: Awakening are the only soundtracks on my phone.

Man, I love this soundtrack. I would have to agree with many on here in saying that this game is superior to Skyrim, both in musical score and the world/gameplay. If there was ever going to be a game that was remastered for the current gen (and there are way too many boring games being remastered), I would hope that it would be this one. Especially after being able to see every item in your inventory in full 3D in Skyrim, it is hard to go back and play this game. Oh, and nothing in the Elder Scrolls universe will ever be as epic as Shivering Isles for me. Loved that DLC.
I believe I heard somewhere about there being a new ES game that they're working on. It was rumored to be in the Black Marsh and be called "Elder Scrolls VI: Argonia". I can't put my money on it yet though, I'm not sure it's true at this time. But still, Oblivion needs some kind of remastered version. Maybe I'll get the fan-made one...
@0mario64luigi0 I've heard about the fan-made one, but can't recall what it's called. If I have a good PC by the time that releases then I'll definitely give it a try. I'm really interested in playing the Morrowind remake too, Morroblivion, as that has been remade with the Oblivion engine. Don't know if I want to start playing Oblivion again because then I'll never stop! haha
the story and colors were so much better in this game. It felt more like a high fantasy unlike a game that was trying to be like game of thrones like skyrim
If you guys like this kind of music check out Guild Wars 1/2 OST, same composer and they sound a lot alike.

+JourneytoNewZealand I can't speak for him, but I found Skyrim's side quests (and even the main quest) to be less interesting and shallower than Oblivion's. In Oblivion you had amazing Dark Brotherhood quests filled with intrigue, mystery, nastiness and creepiness. In Skyrim... not as much. Skyrim's quests don't seem as well written or engrossing as Oblivion's, and like I said, not as deep. Skyrim also mainly has a lot of quests -- quantity over quality. Most of those quests are just 'kill bandit/dragon x in location y'. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Skyrim's quests sucked, but there's a good case to be made for them being worse than Oblivion's, and some are downright boring and easy. I honestly hardly even remember Skyrim's quests, which is weird since I played Skyrim for a while. Oblivion's quests, though... all the Dark Brotherhood quests, the Shivering Isles quests, the Fighter's Guild and Blackwood Company, the Mythic Dawn, the Mages' Guild, Canvas the Castle, the arena... more memorable than Skyrim, more fun. I also found Skyrim to be depressing when it comes to the graphics. I mean, I get that the province is supposed to be bleak, cold, and often barren, but sometimes it felt like it could've used more color. Maybe more interesting sky effects, more varied buildings and building interiors, etc etc. Even the inns in this game (which are supposed to look warm and inviting) just looked kind of bland and cold to me. Fire usually seems pale yellow in Skyrim, and everything is just so serious and bleak that it gets annoying after a while. +Chameleonard Shame they didn't bring back the arena. I loved the glitches on Oblivion where you could hover above them on the gates and just shoot arrows at your opponents to win. Even if the game was broken and linear in terms of the dungeons, I had more fun on here than dull and boring Skyrim.
@Zack Devro Yeah, and Skyrim still seems pretty bad when it comes to the dungeons as well. Most enemies you encounter are the same ones over and over again, and the loot is pretty much always a nordic war axe (only this time with 20 ice damage omfg!), lol. No different from Oblivion in that respect. Overall, Oblivion all the way.

Oh my God. I love this song and it gives me goosebumps when it plays cause I remember the adventures my Nord went on. I put soooo many hours into this game.

This games soundtrack is amazing. One of my favorite games of all time (and I prefer over Skyrim just for the variety in environment and color pallet compared to the grey/black/white of skyrim.
Agreed. The palette of Skyrim always seemed too dull for me.
For myself, it wasn't just that the palette was dull it was also that I've come to dislike "snow wastelands", as I call them. I loved playing this game. I haven't beaten it, I've been trying to find the class that suits me the best, but I still love playing this game.
I used to go to sleep to this song every night for years! What a fantastic track from a fantastic series.

Ahh, good times. The first few notes instantly take me back to this adventure, blown away by the graphics at the time (with all its bloom effects). The game was far from perfect, but it still managed to pull me in like few other series can. Soule's music plays a big role in that.
@SupraDarky Good track, it takes me back to Oblivion and Morrowind as well (Silt Sunrise).
@SupraDarky I REALLY wish the game aged better than it did.. I would love to fall back into this. Ah well
@Atanos Iskandar Ditto! I couldn't really get into Skyrim because I liked Oblivion a lot better. Partly because of the music.

+SupraDarky it's been almost ten years and i went back and started the game again recently and i'm thorougly enjoying it...the dark brotherhood missions bring back so many memories..morrowind, oblivion and skyrim...3 brilliant games, but Soule's work in this was amazing !
+Conor McMorrough THe Dark Brotherhood is one of the best parts of Oblivion, and my absolute favorite. Although I liked the DB storyline in Skyrim, I like Oblivion's more.
@Patrick Kruse i think they're both amazing in their own way but I'd say I prefer oblivion's version a bit more just because I was much younger
That might be why I prefer it as well, but I developed a larger emotional attacent to the other members of the DB in Oblivion that in Skyrim.
