I really enjoy the games as well and especially the music. The backtracking get's old after a while but otherwise one of my favorite series.
So, I'm curious about this game and want to play, but I like to play in their release order. Could someone name them? Thanks in advance~
@真MugiwaraCrono Ys I/II has been released on a *lot* of systems since its first release in 1989 (Japan), including PC. If you want to start from the beginning, I'd rather suggest picking up the Steam version of Ys I&II. You can switch to the old graphics and three versions of the music any time you want, so you can check the differences between all of them. Ys I is actually rather short for a JRPG (8~10 hours tops), and Ys II is slightly longer but not too much (~12-14 hours, perhaps?). Ys Origins is quite nice, and it is a modern prequel to the events in Ys I/II. However, IMHO, I think Felghana (the remake of Ys III) is the best game out of all those currently available on Steam. I think you'll find it easier to play Felghana first and get addicted to Ys, play I/II for the "bump" system and then play Origins for the backstory.

Medal Melodies, I highly recommend you do so. This is a niche series, but I think more people need to just try it! It is an amazing game in my opinion because of the fast-paced action! And the music is a constant reminder of how intense this game is. This specific track is in one of the later levels of the game only though. But there are MANY great moments before it! Also quick tip, when you get to the vampire boss, just keep it going! He is one of the more annoying bosses in the game, but I personally beat him after maybe an hour because of how he works. Anyways, good luck if you do get the chance to play it!

@Medal Melodies No problemo! Hope you will love it! It is available on the Steam store and PSN store and go on sale occasionally. I recommend playing Ys 1 & 2 Chronicles, then Ys: Oath in Felghana, and Ys Origin (the ones available on Steam) in that order. Enjoy one of the all-time great classics!
I can't edit text on the phone, but the violin in this track is killer! Really adds to the feel. Why is Ys music so good lol.
I am really glad you added this track! I just beat Ys 1 on Nightmare on Steam! I hope you ad more Ys tracks! This one was especially good, even if it did only last for like 2 floors on the tower! Also, you must add Valestein Castle and Palace of Destruction! And maybe the final boss theme of Ys 1 (which took me so long to beat on Nightmare...)!

Just as good as the remix in Origin; can't pick one over the other. Would be nice to see Ark on steam since my ps2 version broke.
What do you thin is the best version of sixth game, PS2 or PSP? Personally, I would love that the port PS2 version to Steam but without loading time when you go to inventory and equipment. In the PS2 version Adol changes appearence when you have different equipment, just like in the Oath to Felgana.
@Ginchan If it comes to Steam, they'll probably use the old PC version released in Japan. @Sephiko Thanks. I've played the patched PC version and I've seen the PS2 and PSP versions on youtube, sprites for Adol are the same for PC and PSP.
I played all the available YS games on Steam, now I can't wait for Ark of Napishtim's release. Very entertaining games thanks to their simple but fast paced gameplay. The music is always solid as well.
One of my favourite series. After just one game I've been hooked up. It's simple gameplay and somewhat generic story makes it extremely enjoyable, something that many new titles lack.
