I wonder if this music is actually in Hindi or any other language. Anyone from India or Pakistan care to weigh in? Anyway, I always liked this song. A neat and funky use of lyrics at a time when lyrical music (on cartridges) was super-rare.
It's actually very similar to Indian/Pakistani ( i know this because I'm Pakistani )

well the problem with that is in pakistan/india there are various languages hindi punjabi urdu pushtoo arabic etc but my guess is its punjabi which i dont speak as i speak pushtoo

@Daytime Sky India alone has 22 officially recognized native languages, to say nothing of those that aren't on the list.
Indian weighing in 4 years later, I don't seem to recognize anything (and I have been around in India), though the linguistic style feels familiar.
Good track. Think I might've mentioned this in one of your earlier uploads from this game, though it's worth repeating: darkmoon caverns was also a great track from this game.

Mario Kart's continued greatness and huge success is probably directly responsible for this game never getting a sequel, as it'd create competition between 2 Nintendo franchises (with Mario Kart crushing DKR in sales). DKR was quite different at the time, but it seems like Nintendo has slowly taken some inspiration for MK by adding quick flying and underwater sequences. I wouldn't be surprised if a future Mario Kart took the next step and added full flying/water sequences + small open world features like DKR. Oh, and a playable DK cast. And music by David Wise.
I thought they were trying to make a sequel and when that drama with Microsoft happened the sequel went the same way as Banjo-Threeie (nevar forget ;_;)?

Actually, they MIGHT be working on a sequel right now, done by Retro Studios. There's been rumors about it and that's why Diddy Kong wasn't included in Mario Kart 8.
