In a prefect world we would have BoF up against FF and GTA as an online only game. However if the past has anything to say about it.. it'll never happen.

i thing that you concentrates because you have to play concentrated in game, then when you hear this music, your brain takes that situation.

Out of all the breath of fire games, I personally love V the most.
I enjoyed how they re-invented the rules for V.

my fave part was the bonus dungeon Koken Klay and getting the secret weapons and items. Its a real challange
I loved this song in Breath of Fire 5. As someone already said, probably the most inspirational song to get you past that last mile stretch.
This is a great end to the series, but people had to ask for more and then everyone was disappointed by Breath of Fire VI being what it is.

This song defines, in my humble opinion, the perfect "reaching the final leg of the journey" music. Its calm, almost hypnotically tranquil, with that beat, the "thrum", the strings and woodwinds... then it suddenly picks up into adventuring music again! Its just beautiful. I love you Breath of Fire games, I love you.
Well said. I feel the same :) I came to say something similar but then read your comment and it sums up my feelings perfectly. I've gone all the way through SupraDarky's Best VGM playlists multiple times and this is one of my personal favorites!
@Taylor Beck The game itself is pretty good too. If you haven't already, give it a try (if you can find it somewhere now). All the Breath of Fires' have had pretty good music in them... except maybe BoF2, the music was a tad too tinny for my tastes, too shrill (whatever they did to Windia was not music).
No, this is one of those series' that have escaped me. I'd love to check it out one day though. In your opinion, should I begin at BoF1, or start with something a little newer?
Honestly, they are all fun! BoF 1, 3, and 4 were amazing bloody games. 1 Is a great old-school RPG. BoF3 is my all-time favorite of the 5 games, and has the best story, humor, RPG-elements, music, everything! BoF4 is also a great story, music, and all of that (I just like BoF3 a little better), but where BoF3 has a more japanese feel, BoF4 is decidedly chinese. Give any of them a whirl. BoF1 - SNES, GBA BoF2 - SNES, GBA BoF3 - PS1 BoF4 - PS1 BoF5 - PS2
@SolstaceWinters Cool man, thanks for the replies :) I'll definitely check one out. Looks like some of em are on or are coming to virtual console, so maybe I'll check it out on there. Or I could hunt down the cartridge and fire up the ol' SNES haha
@Taylor Beck Well I know for a fact that BoF2 is in the Nintendo E-shop. I don't even think they have BoF1, but I could be wrong. The games aren't really canonical so really you can play them in any order you wish. The only real mention of canon is a single line of dialogue in BoF2 related to BoF1. If you can, I'd almost say hunt down BoF3 or 4 because those have probably the greatest plots.
Yeah, Hitoshi Sakimoto, made FF tactics, Vagrant Story, BOF V, FF XII etc. and recently Dragon's Crown, check out that soundtrack, you'll love it!
I believe this soundtrack is made by the same people who did Final Fantasy Tactics. This is towards the end part of the game too, which makes the music even more epic.
The best thing you can do is look up a Let's Play of the game, and see if the gameplay interests you enough to try it yourself.
Not sure if the game is any good, but damn this track is good enough to make me want to play it.
It's very ambient and contemplative, and isn't intense of uptempo. (Except for maybe the percussion, but that's subdued.)
because its near the end of the game and ur probably close to dying from using too much dragon power it gives it that epic feel to be so powerful and so close to death

Bang on. I love how it just becomes this climb, this climb for something that we all take for granted and yet, is so dire to the existence of people who have been clamped up inside what humans have been fearing for years.
I feel like I'm watching the whole world in super speed during that section. Gates closing and opening, traffic starting and stopping, clouds racing across the sky and me just taking it all in, perhaps even with some meaning behind it all.
I am so glad for Supradarky for introducing me to this fine piece of music.

I love much of the music in the game. It's too bad that the game itself is extremely tedious in the long run. Good gameplay, but the system that made you replay the game over and over was just horrible.

I use this song exclusively when I go running, because I can alternate between a faster and slower pace quite easily. I get into the "zone" quite often and don't realize how long I've been going for.

This game is good. Its battle system takes some getting used to if you don't play a mixture of both Real Time and Strategy RPG's. And its a BIG TIME departure from what Breath of Fire was when it started. But overall, this is CAPCOM firing on all cylinders and REALLY doing some of their better work.

you're feeling a very positive feeling of hearing a song that you enjoy a lot. hearing it may have triggered something in your mind to make you think back to something that happened in the past that was really good. we really never forget anything that happens to us or anything that we see or do. it's always there. we just need some help getting the memories back. this song helped to bring a good feeling back to you. you can't remember exactly what it is but it brought it close to you.
Don't think this game was really underrated, even though the story was one of the best, the gameplay was just awful. BoF4 was WAY better. This song owns though.
I was listening to this song and not seeing the big deal, and about 30 seconds in I scrolled down and read your comment and decided to skip ahead. Holy shit. Its like the Medivo music from the Jazz Jackrabbit games multiplied by awesome to the 1000th power.

yeah Legaia had some good ones too. I think we share the same tastes. I have certain ones that just stick with me forever this one is one of those now, when I'm drawing ect: they have huge impact. I really got to thank you for this one though, a rare gem nowadays.
It is. All the songs in my list are favorites (of course), but some of them like this one are special to me. It's actually one of the songs I've listened to the most, overall. Probably because of its ambient and atmospheric style which makes for awesome background music while I surf the net. Legaia 2's Lost Forest is up there as well, for example.

I've played all of the Breath of Fire games... 1-4... I haven't played this one. o-O
I've always found it interesting how tranquil and hopeful this track is in contrast to most of the soundtrack, and considering how late into the game it plays. The game is otherwise so incredibly depressing, it's definitely always a welcome sequence. Great track.
well i absolutely loved the other games in the series (except the first 1)and i played them wayyyy before i played this one and i thought this one was brilliant.
