@Ezra Laguna Seashore War is on the better side of meh for me. As for Scorch n' Torch, no. Just no. You see, what ruins the majority of the soundtrack for me is that weird screechy flute that Wise felt the need to put in for some reason (1:07 for Scorch n' Torch) I get that he was going for the whole "Tropical Tribe" sort of feeling, and that's fine, but that instrument is just unbearable to listen to for me. He even managed to ruin the amazing rocket barrel theme from the first Returns game with that damn instrument.

I love this, it sounds so cheerful and carefree! I've never been mega familiar with David Wise but the music I've heard is fantastic! I had no idea he comes from the same county in the UK that I come from! :o

David Wise was really the reason this game will be considered such a treasure. The level design was fantastic, and everything in general was glorious, but above all, the SONGS complemented literally everything, and made for such a glorious artistic masterpiece. David Wise just seems to have a SENSE for atmospheres, and exactly what tunes would make the experience perfect. World 6, man. World 6 has more feels than a...feel...train. Just...oh my god.

I just replayed this game from the start to 100% it. It was much easier in single player than co-op, because co-op is designed for the players to kill each other and waste tons of balloons :x Tons of fun though. I want to replay DKCR someday, BUT WAGGLE CONTROLS I DUNNO MAN
You could play it on Dolphin and assign the waggle to a button, or there's always the 3DS version. I didn't mind wagglin' but I understand why a lot of people disliked it.
or you could install homebrew (works on the wii u as well) and use a Gecko OS code that assigns the waggle to the B button, that's what i did and I love DKCR

I'm yet to play it (working through virtue's last reward and tales of the abyss!). All the previews seemed awesome, and This track stood out a lot when I listened to the soundtrack!
this sounds wonderful. i could never hear the music well because I played the game with a friend and we were always yelling at each other, messing up and laughin', etc. hopefully you upload more from DKCTF because Ninty seldom releases an OST for their games. -.- is this from a gamerip?
You can mute the sound effects ingame, so probably recorded it from that.

I loved this game .I miss games presenting this kind of challenge.
I was glad to see that most people who played this game absolutely loved it, some even calling it the best in the series (or the best 2D platformer!). I'll certainly be playing this game this year as DKCR was my favorite game of the year, thanks to its near-flawless level design. With the addition of new playable characters, this looks even more fun. And of course, music by David Wise.
It's a trade off. Tropical Freeze is shorter and easier, but has much more creative level design and music. Personally I prefer Returns, as I loved how hard it was, but this game is still superb
@***** Nope. After beating Tropical Freeze, I went back and replayed Returns, and still found it harder
I found TF a LOT more fun on the whole than Returns. Varied gameplay with the partners, bigger variety in levels, the addition of secret levels... it was a lot more pleasurable gaming experience in my opinion.
@thetottenhamgamer I never had any trouble in DKCR except the "hidden" levels or whatever (and only then on a couple of them). I was really disappointed with DKCR overall. If I ever get a Wii U, I guess I'll try DKCTF due to how much people seem to praise it, but DKCR was a huge disappointment to me.

Yes, I liked it even more than DKC2. It's now my favorite in the series and as you said, my favorite 2D platformer as well, holy shit! And David Wise, where do I start.... Might also have my favorite soundtrack ever, along with Super Mario Galaxy.
I thought dkctf was way worse than returns. I feels to me like the new dkc 3 for snes.

People insisting it's difficult is the only thing that makes me want to play it eventually, but people said the same thing about DKCR, and I thought that game was piss-easy.
@***** lmao hmmm you got a point, .Maybe you are not used to the play style and action of it. Nes games are slower and everything and have simple movements.
@totlyepic There is no platformer that will ever be "hard" for you. Especially if you thought the golden levels were easy :O
@garfreeek I had to do a couple of the golden ones more than once, but they were the only challenging levels.
