For some reason I like the SNES version better, but hell this is an incredibly beautful piece of music! I cant believe the creator retired.

One of my favorite song from the game, Love the series aswell. Just gonna find time and play the Fifth game. Now that they have fantranslated it :)

Kind of tuneless and meandering.
It's supposed to convey a feeling of loss, pain and helplessness with a little bit of hope thrown in only at the end. Tuneless and meandering is the intended impression.

Now this is a series I really need to play, I've never played a single game from it. I'll start with the first one on the SNES, which seems excellent. This track is from the PS1 version and is quite emotional, Matsueda did a great job. It's the first game she composed for; it's a shame she only worked on a few games before retiring as a VGM composer.
@***** +1 on everything you said! I liked FM1, but FM3 takes the cake for me. FM4 was also pretty good, but just not as good of a story as 3. And Front Mission Evolved was just a watered down version of Armored Core, in every aspect.
Don't forget to play Gun Hazard. Gameplay deviates drastically from the rest of the series, but story and, of course, soundtrack are both top notch.
You always talk about games you've never played, that you need to play... and I know exactly how you feel. Growing up, I had all the time in the world to play all these really amazing games but because I was just a kid, I had no money to buy them. Now I have the money to afford all these games I wanted to play as a kid, but I don't have the time.
+GamesquadSquad Time is money and most people can only have so much of both.
The plot of FM1 is really good and relevant to our future I think.
