Another Fun Fact: It seems Mark Mothersbaugh quoted the distinctive violin line too. You can hear it in some party scenes in the new Matt Groening sitcom „Disenchantment“. What a nice little nod to a great fantasy rpg by a fantasy parody series! :-)

One of the all-time greatest games ever made. Although my favorite song would probably be "Sandy Beach of Gumbo" which is not on your list yet, but this is still great and really catchy!

Fun Fact: Did you know the part of this song is also in the final boss music of Sonic Rush "Wrapped in Black"? Hideki Naganuma admired Noriyuki Iwadare choice of this and loved the violin of this music that Hideki himself used it in the game's final boss while adding his own twist to it.
Very interesting, I remember listening to Wrapped in Black and knowing I heard that violin somewhere else. I never made the connection!

Such an amazing game. I absolutely loved it. Never got to play Grandia II, but I know I should.
To be fair dude, I don't think Game Arts are truly dead or anything. Just two weeks ago they released Ragnarok Odyssey Ace into Europe shelves for PS3 and PS Vita. However , there does seem to be a big gap between their last release: Dokuro, and the re-releases of Ragnarok Odyssey. So I'm hoping they can get back on their feet soon and develop more games. Because I agree with you, their games are like no other in terms of personality and character. This game was enough to prove that to me (great choice of music by the way). Good idea in replaying this game too! Personally, it's far superior to Grandia II in many ways, though Grandia II is still a great title.

Such a great RPG, I'm still not sure which one I prefer between Grandia and Grandia II. I really wish Game Arts was still around, they made games that had this very unique and pleasant personality, with great emphasis on adventure and character development/interactions. I'll definitely be replaying this game at some point.
I'm not sure if you know this or not but Grandia 1 is on PSN. I don't know if 2 is available anywhere.
It's a shame that Takeshi Miyaji died. He was the great mind behind Grandia.
