It may not to you, but it does for most of us. It adds suspense to the music, not always in music notes have to be in harmony, specially in Background Music, because it makes an atmosphere
Also, from a certain harmony-related point of view, that "note" fits quite well into the sequence. Harmony, as a musical term, doesn't mean that the result always sounds euphonic & soothing.

This played when I was hunting Adria and ripping my way through her minions, with the dialogue from my character (and his determination to see her pay) it felt pretty epic.

thats because Solar Sailer and Chains of Fate are properly comparable to Pachebel's Canon, every new addition, brings new life to the track and it becomes more beautiful each layer!
The two pieces share a very similar theme, rhythm and architecture. I still wonder if this is really a coincidence or maybe there's more to it.

yes it sounds like tron's music, but only for 3 notes on 4, and with one semi tone of difference(If i am right ).

there are some similar thematics, because it turns around the same story, but not carbon copy, they are variations of some thematics with differents progression.
the game have a great soundtrack, hope to listen more of it in your channel =p
The music in the Survivor's Enclave cathedral is also a nice piece that sets the mood quite nicely.

It sounds really generic... nothing like tristam theme
When running around below a city under siege by an Arch Angel of Death it fits surprisingly well. I'd almost go as far as to say that when I heard this song, it was the first time I actually thought to myself that "I really need to save this town, these people, the WORLD from the evil!" I know I've already paid for the expansion, but Blizzard, take my money once again!
That said though, nothing compares to the Tristram theme. Nothing. So it's unfair to compare anything to it. That theme is pure perfection.
? It's not meant to be like the Tristram Theme, this plays when a town is under siege and people are dying left, right and centre, not just while you're checking your stash ;)
@doumekikun to me it's the 2nd best piece of the whole diablo series. right after the tristram theme ;)
+doumekikun the music is generic, keep repeating the same loop with occasional variations. Boring. Can not even be compared with Tristram soundtrack. Diablo 3 may have better graphics, but the music is much better in Diablo II and it gives the game specific atmosphere that Diablo 3 has not.
Look mate I am a diablo nut, feel 2 and 1 destroyed 3... But credit where credit is due, this is fantastic
crescendo, climax, descrescendo, tensions, epicness, sadness etc... yes nothing like tristram theme. :-) This music fits better than tristram theme, in the opening cinematic of Reaper of Souls, at the more intensive moment, when malthael blow the poors horadric guys whith his mortal fog.
jean-louis pech imo, Tristram music is masterpiece. This music is just loop with variations on the main theme.
the loop is only for the strings, the basic layer of the music . This is something like the bolero de ravel , it begins low with one layer , the staccato strings ( the first loop ) , and loop after loop there are layers of additional instruments, and rise toward the climax. The evolution is slow by purpose, this is a slow building. This is a different composition, not the same than tristan theme.
Quite. The D2 Tristram music is great, but it's a very different style to this, which is about depth rather than melody. If all you're hearing is repeated strings then you're not listening at all.
Diablo III was such a good time until I hit level 60 and was spending more time on the Auction House than ingame. I haven't played since the end of 2012 and since I'm weak when it comes to the Diablo series, I bought this expansion and I'll start playing in a couple minutes (continuing my Witch Doctor). No more Auction House, smarter loot drops and new gameplay elements are very welcome and it makes me excited for it. We'll see how it goes!
imo, they fixed everything that was wrong with the original end game. i dont think you'll be disappointed!
@philip0544 They still didn't fix the lack of end-game. Furthermore, the story has been forever ruined.
Waiting for the PS4 version...can't wait to finally play this + expansion
i haven't played it yet but I have been play path of exile, its a great free to play game but sound track isn't real impressive but it does have some cool atmospheric background sounds for certain areas i really like
@Hallow Knight Don't make me laugh. I thought Act V's storyline was amazing compared to Act I-IV. The audio and soundtracks were very well done, and the visuals and enviorments I got to see were breathtaking compared to the other acts, my favorite being the Pandemonium Fortress. I really loved Reaper of Souls.
@dapoculos13 . It's definitely a massive step up from the Vanilla game. The only thing now I think D3 is lacking is its specs/loot tailoring. Simply put, because you can just change specs on the fly, and because legendary loot doesn't have the same level of specialization as it did in D2 (we basically need more variability in uniques/legendaries), you can just chuck on whatever you get and respec if needed. That will likely lead to a shorter end-game. Having said that, what they did introduce was great. Loot 2.0 is a breath of fresh air and I really like the enchanting system, especially that it gives you two options and you can choose to keep your existing stat if things go wrong.
I am enjoying the game again now a lot too, I know this comment was posted a long time ago now but its fun to play now. They learned a lot I think from the mistake that was Diablo AH.
I still play the game fairly regularly too since I started around the release date in May of 2012, grinding on my Wizard and Crusader primarily, and occasionally on my other characters. Loot 2.0 and Reaper of Souls were welcome changes to me since I hated the outrageously high prices people put up for items in the Auction House; The kind of money I could never get. Now, I can get Legendaries fairly easily, and thanks to my Boon of the Hoarder Legendary Gem, I now have enough gold to craft as many gems and items as I please while farming on Torment 1.
im in love with the game now. no auction house. you have to play to get a better gear. love it! im invincible with my wd!
