the night before the final exam and you realize that you've only done half the chapters..
Oops, DNA is in my way, better charge up and blast through it! This game had a solid soundtrack. Stage 2 is above and beyond, since they put in the effort to create an underwater version of the song for when you actually fly your ship underwater while playing the stage.
Makes me think of the ending of the Stix 'n' Stones track from Stronghold.
It reminds me a little bit of Eternal Darkness in some tunes.
lvl 4-or 5 was hardcore and i never won it on the gameboy...

Anyone in the music industry or music loving in general should take great regard to videogame soundtrack, that's what im trying to convey for some time now. Very few know of these treasures...what a shame...

R-Type always had amazing atmosphere.
Wow. You'd almost expect to hear this at the climax of a battle in a fantasy-adventure film. This is a real good track.
The final stage of this great shooter was really memorable thanks to the setting. Flying in space through debris of a city destroyed by creatures, who are seeking revenge on the humans who created and then abandoned them. This music really helped in giving a heavy atmosphere, it felt like I was on a suicide mission.
Yet ironically, the track is called "life".
Nothing like shooting crystal babies and space sperm while structural formulas for chemicals fly around in the background.
And if you're in the R-13A Cerberus, you _are._
