@Louis Claudel oh sorry, I asked this because SoA is one of my favorites JRPG's of all time and since not much people know about it, I like to recommend my friends to play the game, and then hear what they felt playing it, in this case I was hoping you played it. maybe someday :)

@Louis Claudel initially it was a Dreamcast exclusive, when the console died, It got a port for the Gamecube (the ps2 version was cancelled), you can play it on GC or even on a wii, that port has extended story and sidequest, I made a promise to myself last year and that was to complete the game 100%, I made it and it took me 63 hours to finish it on 103%, so if you are planning to play it, it maybe last 50 hours to get to the end, maybe when you have time you can give it a chance.

mmm sorry I don't know, I bought it the first time for the dreamcast back in '06 really cheap, I love it, then my cousin who also loved the game found a copy in '09 and gave it to me, my GC was broken at the time, then in 2012 I finally got it fixed and bought a Wii from a friend and finally got the chance to play it (the copy was PAL format and my GC could not play it in a correct way, so the hacked Wii on the forwarder could play it perfectly and I finally got the chance to play it again). Well the point is, im not sure but at Gamestop you can buy it at like $17 or at eBay, the thing is, you have to search really well because the copies of the game are hard to get

Favorite theme from that game was the one from Horteka and the original battle theme. Game was amazeballs.

I actually thought it was weird something so jazzy was playing in abandoned ruins... I think the Town of Ice track captures the feeling better, but this track is better on its own merits.
Wow, I haven't heard this tune for a while, but I'm amazed I somehow overlooked the laid back jazzy feel this song had. The dungeon itself was definitely a sight to behold, but this newfound element (well for me), has made this tune a new fav of mine!

Around the time I started getting into Skies, being 13 or so I had one of those old rf adapters for my tv with the cable/antenna wire, there was a tiny switch on the box that turned up the brightness and contrast to an insane degree for some reason and one day I noticed my picture was messed up. I was I was just too dumb and young to realize it for a long time..so playing through the dungeon or whatever I had to look on the sub-map and just run on the ice path looking at the arrow cause it was all I could see. I don't honestly remember what the ice city looked like because of that.
Like others, I've listened to this for over an hour and still wanted it on.
I hope that Sega's acquisition of Atlus might mean a potential return to this series.
I haven't really gotten into Persona, one of my good friends is though. But as long as they brought it back at all I would be so happy.

I've always been interested in this game since I learned about it just a few years ago, but I've still yet to play it. Just not sure I can get through a JRPG anymore.
I know that feeling. I have this nostalgic love of the genre but find myself unable to sit through the titles as I age. This one, however, is phenomenal. I'll admit battles can take a bit but I love the gameplay just as much as the story.

i have yet to experience the Dreamcast version of this game.seems it,s different,and i would love to play it.
Honestly as much as I loved the DC version I don't think the GCN version was really missing anything the DC version had. Maybe the little VMU game with Pinta's Quest... that was kind of fun. =)
I discovered this game through the Gamecube. I don't think there is alot of difference but I would love to own a copy of the dreamcast version either way!
Funnily enough, I just recently finished this game. It is indeed an underrated gem, though it does have a few flaws. I loved the Ice Dungeon too, probably my favourite in the game. Not only is the concept interesting, but there's no padding before or after this dungeon. You just get the Crystal and leave. A very refreshing change of pace. You don't even fight a Gigas, weight off my mind. Though personally, I'm surprised you still have yet to add "Ancient Temple Dungeon" to this list. The way it's composed seems to be your cup of tea.
Loved Skies of Arcadia. Was introduced to it by my friend's DC version of the game, then later got it on Game Cube where I could actually play it. I remember having a total crush on Aika at the time. :3

This has always been a favorite of mine, awesomely relaxing with a nice jazzy touch. I remember having a hard time with this dungeon which was near the end of the game. This track perfectly reflects the sad tone of an abandoned city that was frozen in time under the thick layer of ice.

The dungeon had a really nice ambiance, but i prefered seriously Rixis and Horteka, and the Low Valua. (about music)
