A beautiful example of analog synths.
I just recently discovered about vocaloids. Do you think this could be using that technology for the vocal phrasing. Also I hear those voices as maybe being vocoded, not really anything built from waves like an analog synth
@1afoohs1 Katamari Damacy came out in Japan on March 2004, the first commercial version of Vocaloid came out January 2004. Now it's not impossible that Yuu Miyake somehow got his hands on a pre-release version of the software I doubt it would have turned out great . For your second bit, at the risk of sounding like a stoned college student, it's all waves man. With enough filter modules and patch cables an analog synth IS a vocoder. That sort of sharp, chirpy, sibilance, that is part of the vocal track points to simpler analog filters rather than infinitely adjustable digital ones. I think . . . maybe

A katamari... cat-amari... this is what you collected the most off. It feels... fluffyish... and... fuzzy. Not that we know if that's a good thing.

This reminds me of the Voice Dance series by Kerry Marsh (<3) my jazz choir did, run through garageband ten times and spit out as a midi. Not bad!

Fairly complex fugue, having four voices at most, with beginning of the second part actually starting with two subjects, (one as a voice and one as a harpsichord), though not being a double fugue. It even has five voices towards the end.
The more I listen to fugues, the more I appreciate and enjoy them.

BalderTray I know! It doesn’t appear on the YouTube albums for some reason. But this is for sure in the game. It’s the music for when you go up to talk with the King before the level actually starts after agreeing to roll a katamari for someone.
I think this is actually from the second game (We Love Katamari.) To make things even more confusing, it wasn't actually included on that OST, but on the OST for the third game (Me & My Katamari)
@Hayden Hawley For some reason, they omitted a lot of tracks from Katamari wa Damacy, even the tracks that play during a montage for The King and Queen and when The King, Queen and Papa hang out. It's also pretty weird how they didn't add the new track they made for talking with The King into the Me & My Katamari OST.
